Cozy, oceanfront, dog-friendly yurt with private hot tub

For a unique and truly one-of-a-kind Oregon Coast camping adventure, look no further than this secluded one bedroom Bay City vacation yurt right on Tillamook Bay! Once used by Central Asian nomads, the modern yurt combines classic design elements like lattice walls and radial rafters, but here, you'll also have luxurious amenities like a gas fireplace, a cottage-like front porch for relaxing with a mug of tea, free WiFi throughout, and a private hot tub! You'll also have a gorgeous 180-degree view of the bay. And of course, not only are dogs welcome, but the owners don't mind at all if you want to bring your fishing boat as well.

A spacious, open floor plan includes a classic domed ceiling, hardwood floors, shelves filled with books, a cozy gas fireplace, and a futon. You can sit back and get comfortable after a day of exploring the area for a fun movie night. There's both a DVD player and a VCR, as well as a library of discs and tapes to choose from. There are even games to spread out on the coffee table and play.

A basic kitchen has a refrigerator, stovetop range, microwave, and a coffeemaker - everything you'll need for simple vacation meals. Whip up a pot of pasta or pan fry some fresh rockfish. And when it's time to eat, the wonderfully distinct oak pub table will be ready to set with fine dishes and tableware. In addition, there's a charcoal grill outside for burgers, chicken, steak, and more, as well as a fire pit, and a picnic table. You can sit down to an outdoor meal and watch sunset cascade radiating light across Tillamook Bay. And after dinner, hop in the brand-new, five-person hot tub for an unparalleled stargazing spot.

The separate bedroom has a comfortable, handmade alder queen bed set under a clear dome to watch the moon and starry night pass overhead. The full bathroom includes a shower, lovely vessel sink, and fluffy towels - there are even warm, cozy robes to borrow. This yurt will comfortably sleep up to four guests, as well as two dogs (with a nightly pet fee and a weight limit of 25 pounds).

Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to spot heron, egrets, and other water birds right outside the front door or fish for local rockfish right in the bay. Ten minutes away in Tillamook, golfers can tee-off at the Alderbrook Golf Course and the Cape Meares Lighthouse, Octopus Tree, and a number of sandy beaches are just over 15 miles away. Beach comb the day away! And of course there's always cheese tasting at the Tillamook Cheese Factory - only three miles from this centrally-located coastal spot.

Looking for a place to eat? Just off Highway 101 in Bay City, you'll find the Fish Peddler Restaurant at Pacific Oyster. Seafood just does not get any fresher. Feast on oyster stew, fish tacos, and clam chowder, then head back to your bayfront yurt and make dessert s'mores out at the fire pit. There are also a number of other dining options just a bit farther south - the Schooner Restaurant & Lounge, Old Oregon Smokehouse, and the new Pacific Restaurant in Tillamook to name a few.

Whether it's a romantic weekend for two, a honeymoon, or a family getaway, this unique Bay City vacation rental is full of charm! Whether you put your feet up and relax under the domed ceiling, stargaze while drifting off to sleep at night, or birdwatch from the front porch, you'll have a memorable time at this wonderful yurt on the bay.

My husband and I spent three nights at the Yurt on the bay and loved every minute. It is well cared for and very inviting and comfortable.
Nirav S. Jun 2019
Unique experience right on the water with a private hot tub, what’s not to love?
Susan G. May 2019
We loved the location - looking at the water was so peaceful! The space was cozy, and the hot tub just what we needed to put our relaxation over the top!
Brian L. May 2019
Very lovely spot on the bay. It’s nice to sit in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the bay.
Cheryl H. Apr 2019
The yurt was really nice. We were able to get away from the city and have a quiet holiday. The view was beautiful and the amenities were just right.
Twana Y. Apr 2019
As my 11 year old son said, this was our best Springbreak thanks to the Yurt on the Bay!! As native Oregonians, it isn't typical to have such beautiful weather during Springbreak, which happens to be the last week of March and usually ends on my Birthday. This was the nicest, private staycation we've ever had and that's not to say, it was total exclusion, as we were lucky enough to be close to some of the best attractions and restaurants! I am not exaggerating when I say this, we didn't even bother going to the Tillamook factory. We wanted to just spend the beautiful day playing bocce ball in the incredible yard, dip into the cleanest hot tub I've ever seen and take a little stroll around the bay! We had a blast and cannot wait to come back again!!! We thank the owners for incredible memories that we look forward to keeping in our yearly trips!

Everything you could dream of
Kimberley F. Jan 2019
Wonderfully situated by the bay at the end of the road. You can hear a bit of noise from Highway 101 but not much. Wonderful movie library, which came in handy when the weather turned bad. The Yurt held up great to wind and rain. Hot tub was great for a nice morning soak. Very relaxing.
geordie m. Dec 2018
A great place to weather a storm in Tillamook. Right on the bay. Clean and comfy.
Catherine N. Dec 2018
We loved everything, the location, the yurt, the hot tub, the yard, all the extras to make our stay more comfortable, and of course the view of the bay and being able to walk along the shore.
sarah m. Dec 2018
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary here, and we couldn't be happier! The yurt was so cozy and comfy, and the hot tub on chilly December night was ideal. Plenty of privacy, walking distance to a great little trail ( The Kilchis Point Reverve), and ya can't beat the bayside location with herons everywhere! We would return in a heartbeat!
Russell T. Nov 2018
Great Place to watch the tide! We walked out in the muddy bay on a chilly day. Then spent most of the day staying warm by the fire. The hottub was used each night! We would definitely recommend it.
Joseph M. Nov 2018
My wife and I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and when we arrived, it was late in the evening, so we didn't get to see the full view of the bay and the surrounding area until the next morning, but we were both blown away. At low tide we were able to walk along the bay and look for shells, during the day we were 5 minutes north of the Tillamook creamery, 5 minutes south of the Fish Peddler at the Pacific Oyster Company, (though we were a little disappointed in the restaurant hours there) and not much more than an hour from Cannon Beach and quite a few other touristy type places. It's a perfect place for couples, or for a small family to hang out and relax. We loved our time there, and we definitely plan on coming back.

Real nice
Catherine H. Aug 2018
I loved waking up every morning and sitting on the porch with the bay’s gentle murmurs. And then watching the sun set over the bay each evening. Just the best, most peaceful vacation spot.
Alyssa T. Aug 2018
Such a great place to stay for a short getaway. We absolutely loved how secluded it was, our dog was happy she run around and be so close to the water. The yurt itself was absolutely beautiful on the inside and was extremely spacious. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a relaxing quite getaway.
Glen M. Jul 2018
We loved the private location, the beautiful view of the bay, the variety of birds, and the many subtle details of the yurt that made it feel like someone cared for the visitors.
Jonathan K. Jun 2018
Wonderful location. Worked well for my family of 3.
Amy C. Jun 2018
2018 marks my family's 4th annual stay at the Yurt on the Bay. We have been coming here since my daughter was 2 years old. To her, this is our family yurt. The magical place we come to where she can run circles and dance in the soft green grass out front. The peaceful home away from home where we can watch the sunset as a family. We have stayed during early springs and summers. I can honestly say, no matter what time of year, this destination is beautiful. The view of the Bay, the sweet sounds of birds, the bonus of sitting in a hot tub while enjoying it all.... priceless. My family and fur family have made so many memories here. We are already planning for year 5!
amy b. May 2018
Beautiful, private spot. Loved watching sunsets from the hot tub!
Desirae K. Apr 2018
This is the perfect private retreat. Lovely, comfortable space that was a perfect romantic getaway.
Dena B. Apr 2018
This place was absolutely stunning upon entering, the inside was fantastic, the bathroom looked like an upscale spa. We left a day early due to terrible weather, as we would have stayed for the full stay if we had more things to do with nicer weather. Absolutely loved our stay
Morgan P. Apr 2018
Our family of 4 had fun staying here, loved the space, the hot tub, and the view!
Jordan P. Mar 2018
Cozy, well-utilized, and unique little space. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The movie selection and games are a nice touch and kept us entertained indoors and the kitchen is well-stocked despite not having an oven - we had no trouble at all cooking a few meals here. We only had one dry night for using the awesome fire pit, but we continued to enjoy the hot tub in the rain. The trails at Kilchis Point Reserve are within walking distance and are a great way to spend a couple of hours exploring. Definitely would come back and recommend to others!
Amanda N. Dec 2017
Short drive to North coast attractions. Peaceful and quiet.
Mark M. Dec 2017
This is a perfect bayside getaway for a couple wanting casual easy relaxation!
Beverly G. Dec 2017
Very happy with it.
George R. Dec 2017
We stayed during some of the fall storms. It was so fun to watch the waves and the tide. The stretch of bay shore that was available to us at the yurt was private and we found little treasures on the beach. Great pieces of driftwood for crafts. The movie and game selection was excellent. Perfect for cold rainy nights in the fall and winter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again. George and Debbie R.
Audrey B. Nov 2017
We came to celebrate my husband's birthday with a couple friends. So fun and relaxing to go out fishing and crabbing and come back to a hot tub with a view. It was the perfect fun/cozy getaway we were looking for.
Ricky F. Nov 2017
Loved it both times we stayed . Amazing view very comfortable only thing is if I give it to much kudos other people will find out our secret 😄 Thank you very much for this little piece of paridise we love it
Carolanne W. Oct 2017
Extra cozy and great amenities.
Lauren F. Oct 2017
The yurt was charming, and having the hot tub there made it nice even in cold and rainy weather. (We saw a seal!)
Steve C. Oct 2017
Romantic. Perfect for our honeymoon
Amy W. Oct 2017
Couldn't get the wifi to work. Everything else was great. Loved the robes and quality bath towels. In general the appointments were nicer than I thought. Aesthetically the location is wonderful. Unimpeded views of the bay. Lots of birds. Shared driveway so cars right there but once it's dark you don't see them. Enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. Can hear highway noise both inside and outside but it's not too hard to tune it out. I would definitely re visit!
Igor S. Oct 2017
It is truly a paradise! Private, quiet, and has the most stunning views of the sunset.

Bring your spouse, or your family.

We will be back!
Gina C. Sep 2017
The bay right outside the door is magical. While we took the weekend as a working weekend, it was splendid to be able to gaze out the door/ windows and see the ever changing landscape with the tide coming in and out and the sky doing its thing. Very comfortable, clean and cozy! An amazingly good movie selection too!
Damon H. Sep 2017
Very nice place to stay. The views were incredible. Walking along the bay was awesome or there is a nearby nature trail that is incredible also. Very clean and well set up yurt, ideal for a couple. Oh yeah there is a awesome fire pit and a BBQ.
Eleanorlea D. Sep 2017
Amazing!
Andrey M. Sep 2017
We loved our stay! Our 1.5 year old loved playing in the front yard! Super cozy yurt, and amazing feature of the hot tub! Enjoyed watctching the sunset from the porch, Will be coming back!
Suzanne K. Sep 2017
Loved staying here but sometimes we could hear neighbors. They weren't too loud and nothing you could do about it. The grocery store is a bit away. Favorite part was sitting in the hot tub and watching the sunset over the bay which was perfect. Also, the bed was really nice.
Casey S. Aug 2017
We had an amazing time at the Yurt, and are already planning to come back. The location on the water was excellent. The hot tub was fantastic. Overall a relaxing weekend away from work and stress! Highly recommended!
Sabrina S. Jul 2017
A quaint and tranquil spot that is surprisingly luxurious and private. Give yourself a few days to really take it all in.
Anita R. Jul 2017
A wonderful, quiet place to stay.
Tia S. Jul 2017
We booked this only a couple weeks before our wedding. It was everything we hoped for and more! It was secluded and relaxing. We enjoyed walking the beach and watching the sunset from the hot tub. We were pleasantly surprised on how comfortable the bed was as well! We will definitely be back to visit soon!
Sara G. Jul 2017
Romantic, quiet, and completely gorgeous spot. The Yurt is like a really nice hotel room, this really is beyond glamping. We loved the hot tub. Can't wait to come back.
Jake And Cassidy D. Jun 2017
Lovely yurt, it had everything we needed.
Julie T. Jun 2017
we have been going here several times a year for the last 4 years. it is a great get away. the new sofa bed was a great addition! most comfortable pullout bed I've ever slept on. it is great that the kitchen is stocked with supplies so all you have to bring is food and clothes. makes for a relaxing trip!
Amy K. Jun 2017
Amazing spot !
Sonja B. Apr 2017
The place was lovely and so was the location - terrific for bird watching. The only thing is, there is no privacy to use the toilet, so if you're squeamish about having other people around when you 'do your business' may not be the place for you.
John A. Apr 2017
Very quiet, relaxing, and private. Beautiful view of the bay right out the front door.
We spent a day doing nothing more than reading books and watching the tide flow in and out. For more adventuresome types the location is perfect for quick and easy access to Tillamook and Cape Meares, other scenic drives, hiking trails, water trails, etc. Or do like us and just cozy up and nest in place.
Cindy K. Mar 2017
We love this place ! Our 2nd time here.
Very peaceful and private.
Alexandra M. Mar 2017
Went for a birthday weekend. It rained the whole time, but we still made use of the hot tub. Was fantastic! Would definitely go back.
Vanessa S. Mar 2017
What a wonderful location and view! The yurt was furnished so nicely and the amenities were plush (towels, bathrobes, bedding). There was a big storm while we were there and hearing the rain, wind and hail on the dome was so neat. Use of the private hot tub was great- especially during the day. Truly a magical little get-away!
Shelagh W. Feb 2017
The yurt is well furnished and has a homey feel. The view of the bay is lovely and the private hot tub was a wonderful place to relax. We did have an issue with wifi - although we were getting a strong signal we were not able to access any websites. We tried all the fixes suggested by the hosts but nothing worked. This was a bit of a drag as a wind and rainstorm kept us inside for most of 2 days, and as travellers from outside the US, we were very limited in our use of cellular data. That aside, we were able to watch movies and play games and nap...a lot.
Sarah R. Feb 2017
Very peaceful and beautiful views. More privacy blinds and maybe a fence to separate the owners house from yurt or owner park cars other places and stay away from yurt while guests are there. But as a hole a very nice place to stay, very clean and comfortable.
Mary S. Feb 2017
Could not get the internet to work, said connected but would't, so no homework for me lol Otherwise very relaxing while I was there. Hot tub was wonderful to sit and watch the weather change. My oldest son swears he is buying a yurt now.
Jackson R. Feb 2017
My partner and I stayed at this cozy Yurt for a very rainy February weekend. Though we couldn't spend time outside, it was fun listening to and watching the storm from the yurt. We had plenty to do with all the games and DVDs provided, and we were plenty warm because of the fireplace and extra blankets. There is event a little kitchenette to make simple meals. On Saturday, we went to the Airplane museum and sampled wine at the Blue Heron in Tillamook. There was plenty to do nearby, and great places to eat, even when the weather was horrible.

What a great weekend. Thanks Vacasa!

One thing to note: Though the Yurt technically sleeps 4, I think it would be a little crowded with more than 2 guests. The bathroom is also not separated by doors or walls (just a divider), so keep that in mind!
Jeff V. Jan 2017
We had a great weekend at the Yurt on the bay - No issues at all.
Its still very private even if its only separated from the main house by a large shed.

Perhaps the only downside for future visitors might be the "openness" of the bathroom. If your shy about the bathroom it might make you uncomfortable.
Lance B. Jan 2017
This is the sweet spot of the coast and would highly recommend it.
Catherine F. Jan 2017
My hisband and I didn't know what to expect because we had never stayed in a yurt. We were very pleased and my husband could not stop talking about how wonderful it was. We enjoyed our time and will most definatlly return!
Jamie H. Dec 2016
We love this little yurt on the bay! This is our second time staying here and has quickly became a place we love to visit. We love all the amenities and ease of a rental 'home' or hotel room, in just a small, cozy yurt! We love being right on the water and enjoyed our stay even in the December rain :) I would definitely recommend this to any of our friends or family!
Margaret S. Nov 2016
We stayed here for a weekend in November for my birthday. It was perfect... it was peaceful, warm, cozy and practical... and loved the hot tub! Thank you!
Brenda N. Oct 2016
All around great experience.
Caitlin G. Oct 2016
I love this little yurt and hope to be back soon - exactly what we needed for a quiet weekend. All the comfiness of home with hiking nearby during the shine, and great view on the tides (and a great dvd selection) during the rain. Great place to catch up on reading in the hot tub.
Genevieve P. Oct 2016
We stayed at Yurt on the Bay this past September and had a wonderful time. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the yurt and the yard. We found it to be very private.. there is a large shed in between the main house and the yurt that blocks most of the site lines between the two. The hot tub was very clean and the stars were absolutely breathing from it at night. We stayed with our 2 year old daughter and it was nice having the big yard and the private beach to explore with her and the toys provided were a nice touch. We cooked most of our meals at the yurt and found the kitchen to be very well stocked for its smaller size. The bed was very comfortable and the stars from the roof bubble were beautiful. We will definitely be back!
Sandra H. Sep 2016
Great place...we always enjoy our stay.
Lori & Jon W. Sep 2016
Don't expect peaceful serenity as the view suggests. Loud yard work, screeching weed eater that pelted the yurt with rocks for over 40 min. HAWKEYE owners who think you don't know how to operate a hot tub. ( my hubby had to use the restroom and they ran over and told us to cover it immediately...I was not dressed ) Disappointing experience.
Jo M. Sep 2016
Thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful and delightful spot on Tillamook Bay! From the settee you have a great view of the bay - we saw blue heron, great white egret and brown pelican. Though the owners live next door they do not overlook the Yurt, it is truly private and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Wonderful spot to take your dog, large space to run and play though not fenced in. First time in a yurt for us - we didn't understand that we would be looking at the stars from our bed - wonderful, but if you need the dark for sleeping take eye covers. The yurt was exceptionally well stocked; games, jigsaws, CDs, DVDs, spices, kettle, microwave, toaster, extra blankets, plenty of paper products, and even bath robes and beach towels! Only thing missing for us was covered casserole dishes for preparing dinner. Not there is NO oven but there are 2 gas burners. Loved this spot and the local environment- don't miss a walk through the reserve woods to Kilchis Point - beautifully kept trail with lots of local history information along the way - well done Bay City!!
April And Gerardo G. Aug 2016
The Yurt on the Bay is an incredible place to celebrate as a couple. Beautiful and majestic Bay views and mesmerizing sunsets can be viewed from the location, the fire pit, the hot tub, or deck. You can even stroll along the bay shore and look for treasures. Getting to restaurants and shopping is within a 10 minute drive. But generally, the Yurt has all the comforts of home, so you just have to provide the food and drinks, along with your spirit of adventure. Secluded and private, the Yurt on the Bay really is a treasure and a personal paradise to be enjoyed!
Beatriz P. Aug 2016
We ended our coast trip at the yurt by the bay. It was great to end it somewhere you don't need to leave. Hot tub was amazing! Dog friendly!
Jeni M. Aug 2016
I truly could not be more pleased with this location. You have the whole view to yourself, a little slice of bay heaven, 3 mins from the best oysters and clam chowder I've ever had, and 10 mins from grocery stores, breweries, tea shops, and Tillamook cheese. You are completely self-encapsulated at this quaint little yurt with your own hot tub and fire place, cook stove, and TV. We listened to Elvis, cooked sharimp and slurped raw oysters and took in the stars at night from the immaculate hot tub. Would strongly recommend to everyone looking for a peaceful get away.
Nicole R. Aug 2016
Stayed here for 2 nights for the last leg of our vacation. Spend 2 nights in Seattle and 2 nights in Portland prior to coming here. This place was just what we needed for a little rest and relaxation. I had big plans when coming here to ask my girlfriend to marry me.. And she said yes! The hurt and the property was the perfect place for our little purposal and it was beautiful.
Everything was in great working order and the hot tub and fire pit was a nice touch! We will definitely be back for years to come!
Hugh S. Jul 2016
Would stay there again. Fun experience. Very comfortable, great view of the bay, and quiet.
Christine C. Jul 2016
Peaceful, quiet, breathtaking, and perfection. This location was amazing and exactly what we were looking for. We made a last minute decision to head to the coast for a quick honeymoon and wanted a private space with a hot tub. We could not have found anything else so perfect. It rained one day but we could sit inside the yurt and watch the ocean from the couch. Falling asleep to the rain was so peaceful. We will most definitely come again.
Cheryl F. Jun 2016
We loved our time here! It was beautiful, quiet and had every thing we needed and more.
Sarah C. Jun 2016
Our stay in the Yurt on the Bay was wonderful. The spot yurt is very nice and the location is very quiet with an lovely view. It was very comfortable and the hot tub was a wonderful addition. We will definitely stay here again.
Sarah L. Jun 2016
We had a great time at this amazing yurt! It was a beautiful location with such an amazing view! Sofa bed was not very comfortable (even for sofa bed standards) but other than that, it was wonderful and we hope to be back soon. Our kids didn't want to leave and neither did we!
James C. May 2016
We have stayed in a yurt before in Big Sur, and expected this yurt to be similar, but we were extremely impressed with the Yurt on the Bay. The numerous amenities made our stay comfortable and very memorable. We met our daughter, who lives in Portland, here for four days of quality time and fun. We have already recommended it to friends and will return later this year.
Donald P. May 2016
My wife and I have been staying in places along the Oregon Coast for over 25 years, and this was are favorite by far. Highly recommended.
Wade H. Apr 2016
good place
Chelsea H. Apr 2016
The Yurt is amazing! Enjoy!
Tyler W. Mar 2016
Never been in a yurt before but this was amazing, I imagine they arent all this nice but it has everything you'd need for a great beach stay. Walk outside for an AMAZING view of the bay, and of course a Hot Tub! Heaven I tell you....
Bonnie S. Mar 2016
My children and I stayed here July 2014. When deciding where to stay for spring break, I asked where they wanted to go.....they gave a couple suggestions......I asked them if they wanted to go back to the Yurt in Bay....before I could finish they were yelling "the yurt, the yurt". The decision was was made.

Both the Tillamook Cheese factory and the Air museum were huge hits again this year.
Another wonderful time. Plenty of movies for children on the rainy days.

We plan to return again. Such a wonderful time.
Teak N. Mar 2016
At the end of a full week family vacation that included the Puget Sound, Space Needle, Columbia River Gorge, Mt. St. Helens, Olympic National Park, and many other stops along the way - we sat at the airport having our usual post-vacation conversation of "what was your favorite part" - The Yurt topped ALL of our lists! This is a small, quaint, cozy little place - well appointed - and beautifully located on the Tillamook Bay. Situated in Bay City - it was close to the conveniences of Tillamook, the beaches of the 3-Capes, and any number of hikes, parks, and adventures - and yet it felt so very remote and private. The hot tub was a great way to start and end the day - even in the rain. The fireplace was a really nice touch. Don't be deterred by the small size - it was cozy - but our family of four required no more space and found it to be the most lovely place to finish out our spring break. Our only suggestions would be that the fold-out couch was rather uncomfortable (even as fold out couches go) - an inflatable air mattress would be a really good addition. Also - while they do have a towel drying rack at the yurt (neat gizmo - we hadn't seen one before) - this is the first rental we've stayed in without a washer and dryer - so if you plan to be there more than a couple days, or plan to get wet (we don't let rain slow us down) - you'll want to scope out a laundromat in the area. Thanks for a wonderful retreat - we would most definitely return if in the area again!
Manager response:
We apologize that the sofa bed was uncomfortable for your group and will advise the Property Manager of your comments.
Vedisa T. Feb 2016
Just lovely!
Rena S. Feb 2016
We absolutely loved our stay. It was comfy, cozy, clean, and the perfect size. The yurt itself is beautiful (high ceilings, natural light, really nice furnishings and just overall nice 'feel' inside). The view out the front door of the tree line and the bay were absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The hottub is brilliant – you can see the stars (and even galaxies) at night – it's so peaceful and clear, and the sound of the bay was really nice. We also enjoyed a cup of coffee in the hottub early morning. It was incredibly quiet and felt very secluded, even though it's just off the main road a few blocks. The yurt also had a pretty impressive selection of DVD's :) We would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat!
Allan S. Feb 2016
Semi-private awesome place with an awesome hot tub!! The stars are beautiful at night from the tub! The yurt is great! I could live there permanently
Ryan H. Jan 2016
Great location
Sarah H. Jan 2016
This was the perfect quite get away from reality for us. We love camping, but of course during the stormy time of year, don't love the extra effort that would take for a vacation. This was the perfect compromise! The Yurt was such a welcome change to hotels/houses/condos, and had such a privacy that was amazing! Plus, who couldn't love the hot tub with it's view of the Bay right in front of it! We will definitely be back!
Gwendolyn S. Oct 2015
Once you settle in and take a soak in the tub and light a fire at sunset it is hard to leave the quaint Yurt on the Bay. But if you can manage to pull away it is the perfect location for day trips to the beaches at Netarts & Manzanita. Loved walking through the tunnel on the beach of Oceanside and seeing the star fish & anemone. Next time we'll spend more time at the Yurt and plan to canoe in the bay cause everything we needed to relax and explore was right there at the Yurt on the Bay. Truly a magical place!
Cheryl M. Oct 2015
We spent our 39th anniversary here. Being in close proximity to the ocean is very important to us. The yurt was a fun and different lodging experience. Listening to the rain on the roof was so relaxing. We would definitely recommend it and will likely come back ourselves.
Steve R. Oct 2015
When you pull up to the yurt, we had a mixed reaction. It looks small, and is pretty close to what we assume is the owner's home. But we quickly realized how absolutely charming and secluded it really is. And the chance to sit in the hot tub and watch the sunsets over Tillamook Bay is indescribable.
The yurt is perfect inside. (Quaint is NOT code for tiny.)
Molly L. Sep 2015
We loved our visit to the Yurt on the Bay! The property feels very private and offers great views of a fascinating tidal bay filled with water birds and fishing boats. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching the sun set and moon rise. The yurt is very well appointed with all of the necessities. The area offers lots of interesting things for tourists - we enjoyed the Tillamook cheese factory, the beach in Oceanside, the Cape Meares lighthouse, and the steam train in Garibaldi. A great weekend getaway!!! Definitely highly recommend!
Lorraine E. Sep 2015
We loved the yurt and planned to return. Excellent respite getaway!
Kristi V. Sep 2015
The Yurt On The Bay was a wonderful experience! We so enjoyed our 30th Wedding Anniversary there and will stay there again!

This was the most relaxed experience vacation that my wife and I have had. The yurt was such a great escape, there is plenty of things to do along with lots of RnR.

Our stay at the yurt on the bay was wonderful! Everything was very clean and seemed brand new. The location was quiet and private. Nothing beats relaxing in a hot tub with a beautiful water view. Great hikes, beaches and seaside towns are within a half hour drive in each direction. So glad we stayed here! It was the perfect weekend getaway.

We spent five days of our honeymoon there. It was a wonderful way to begin our life together. If you are looking for quiet, romantic, and well located place this is a dream come true. Everything you could want is provided. It is a treasure of the Oregon coast that we miss already.

The Yurt on the Bay is a great place to get away with that special someone and your dog. Quiet, secluded, and in a relatively uncrowded part of the coast - it was the perfect place to relax in the hot tub at sunset and walk on the beach in the morning! Warmer and less windy than other places we stayed too. Highly recommend this unique retreat!

Great place for a small family. The lawn was fantastic for running around and using the games which were provided. Awesome hot tub overlooking the bay. The yurt itself was comfortable and cozy. Our dogs had a great time, too.

My fiance and I traveled up the west coast from San Francisco to Seattle and this was my favorite part of the vacation! It's the perfect place to relax. The yurt is beautifully designed, comfortable and clean. They have a great selection of movies and games. The location is quiet and away from any city lights so watching the stars from the hot tub feels like something from a dream.

Ssshhhh....let's keep it a secret. Yurt on the Bay is the best compromise between camping and a hotel. The yurt is perfectly appointed and so comfortable. My husband, small dog and I enjoyed our time there so much, it was hard to leave.
Alexandra C. Jun 2015
There was no internet and they can not do anything about it.

We had an amazing time staying here, but unfortunately I had to knock off a star (which I will elaborate on later).

To start with the positives: this yurt is even nicer in person. Super cozy, clean, and great views. Even the bathroom was extremely nice, which you may not expect in a yurt. We loved spending our nights around the fire pit and in the hot tub with such an amazing view. I was even surprised to see the DVD collection had so many new releases (in most places I have rented it is usually a few old movies). The yurt’s size fit the two of us perfectly, but I think it would be too cramped for four people.

The location is about a 20-30 minute drive to many nearby outdoor activities closer to the coast – we were able to make day trips to Cape Lookout, Cape Meares, and Oceanside beach.

The spot itself is tucked away at the end of a residential block and the placement does feel like we were in someone’s backyard. I believe the yurt’s owner is in the house right up against the yurt, and they even left the garage door half open during our whole visit so we saw them several times (it kind of felt like they wanted to keep an eye out on guests). I would take a half star off for this if I could do half stars, since I do feel like this yurt is less private than advertised. Still, many of the vacation rentals near the coast can be really packed in there, so we appreciated that this one was a bit more secluded than others. Because this is on the bay and not the coast, you can get a waterfront experience without being surrounded by tourists.

On our second day, right at dinnertime as we are about to go fire up the grill, a landscaping team showed up. We waited inside as they buzzed around the place in giant lawnmowers, edged, etc. If we were renting a condo spot, I would expect this. But as somewhere advertised as private and quiet, we really didn’t appreciate the surprise since it was so intrusive to our space. Not to mention we could have been enjoying ourselves in the hot tub when this happened, which would have been awkward. I strongly believe that any maintenance should be occurring in between guests, and if that is not possible, guests should be notified of service people who will be coming and when. I have rented several vacation spots before and never had anyone show up like this. Vacasa was apologetic about it, but I do feel that this is a scheduling problem that needs to be addressed.

Overall, when we visit the coast area in the future I would not hesitate to rent this spot again!
Manager response:
Thank you for your comments. The property is located near the owners, and what was seen open was the shed where they keep their materials to maintain the rental and their home. These owners are very respectful of their guests' privacy and do their best to not intrude. We will do our best to inform guests in the future of when landscaping and/or maintenance must take place during their stay. We are glad to see that you enjoyed this unique location. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!

Yurt on the bay was just what I expected with the exception of being in such close proximity to the neighbor/owner. We were disappointed when we arrived (2pm early) because the "bay" looked more like a marsh however we were pleased to find within a couple of hours the tide came in and it became the waterfront property we expected.
There is a fire pit and grill but you must provide your own wood and charcoal. We roasted marshmallows by the fire, grilled some hot dogs had a nice soak in the tub on our first night. There is also a fenced area for dogs but it won't keep out large or motivated escape artists.
The yurt itself was just as pictured. It was romantic and comfortable but also fun. My husband is very particular about his bed and this one won his approval! DO BRING SLEEPING MASKS!!!! While the skylight in the ceiling is great at night, it is not so great upon sunrise. We brought masks and were able to sleep in just fine. The shower is amazing and there is a towel warmer for added luxury. If you are staying with other couples and privacy is important, don't look up because you can see what is happening in the rest of the yurt through the reflection in the dome :o)
If you love music and are under the age of 70, bring your own music or portable speakers for your phone/ipad. There is limited CD selection and an outdated portable CD player with no aux input.
Make sure to read about the surrounding areas upon arrival and visit. We especially loved Munson falls.
Overall our trip to YOTB was equally fun and relaxing and also a romantic place to get away with special someone. We will definitely be back.
Manager response:
Thank you for your great review! We are very glad you enjoyed your stay at the Yurt! It always makes us happy when our guests have a great experience in one of our homes. We hope to hear from you again soon.

Great stay. Did extended checkout and that was easy. No real issues with the place...great area and great condition of everything. We thought there was going to be fire wood there, but it wasn't a big deal and we just picked some up from the store. That's all, thanks!
Caleb Y. May 2015
We loved our whole time at the Yurt! The area is quiet, beautiful and allows for fun and relaxation. You cannot beat the view outside of the Yurt. We loved being able to just relax in the hot tub and look out at the bay. The location is perfect for privacy. We love Yurt on the Bay!

The list of the detail s that have been seen to in this place is amazing. You know how a lot of vacation rental places look like they have been furnished from yard sales? Not here! Comfortable bed, well appointed furnishings. Private and steps from the bay. When our friends heard we we staying at a yurt, they could believe it (we are more room service types)' until they saw the pics on the website and listened to our glowing report. This is now "our place" at the coast.!

We had a lovely two night stay. This is by far the fanciest Yurt I've ever stayed in. The views were amazing! The yurt has all the basics you need, but I'd suggest bringing your own toiletries (especially soap/body wash). The yurt gets quite chilly at night, but the gas fire place and additional space heaters will help keep you warm. The yurt is located in a quiet neighborhood. There is a stretch of "beach" directly in front of the property to explore, and Tillamook area is not far that offers several great hikes etc. We really enjoyed the movie/game collection for when it rained and came prepared with our own pop up canopy so we were still able to enjoy the hot tub during the rain. It really is a lovely peaceful property an look forward to saying here again the future.

We came for an early Valentine's Day weekend and brought our dog. Even with the excessive amounts of rain we had a wonderful time! The Yurt was cozy, clean, and very comfortable. There were plenty of things to do despite the rain. And the bed was amazing! (That is one of my pet peeves - when I go on vacation and miss my bed at home). Bay City is quaint and nearby we had fun exploring Oceanside, Garibaldi, and Rockaway. We will definitely be coming back!
Manager response:
We are happy to hear the bed was very comfortable and you were able to enjoy your early Valentine's getaway! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we love the Bay and are happy that you did too!

We had a wanderful time in the yurt, it was clean, warm and cosy! Enjoyed the view from the hot tub, would love to go again!
Dalen W. Jan 2015
While it's location on the bay explains it's affordability, it is NOT on the coast. That being said, has great amenities, great weekend getaway with a significant other, and feels private. While the wind storm pushed the yurt around quite a bit, it held.
No where really to walk to from the property, but plenty within 10 minute drive.
Kimber P. Jan 2015
My husband and I were caught up in everything to explore & see, we didn't make it to the cheese factory. We will be back in the near future.
Appreciate the late check-out, when available. We enjoyed an additional afternoon !! :)

The first question my bride asked when I told her we were staying in a yurt, was "is there a heater?
After we left she cried as we left. We were warm, and oh so comfortable.
There are a few things that should be addressed though:

#1 Hardware missing beside front door on r/h top aluminum tab. (Seen from inside)

#2 R/H (seen from outside) window age cracked and leak wind/cold

#3 a warning about the kitchen lamps as a fire hazard. Might be nice. We had a box of crackers ignite. We smelled it and stopped it quickly.

#4 another idea is to mark the light switches for function.

#5 a TV operation guide would help. We tried once and gave up on TV. We did watch movies.
#6 The clear dome is a focal point of the yurt and is in need of cleaning. Cobwebs mainly.
Thank You so much for a wonderful place.

We stayed at the Yurt on the Bay for 4 days/3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It was relaxing and private (though there is a very near neighbor) and has terrific views of the bay. It had all the amenities we could need, and was stocked with a great selection of movies. We loved the hot tub and the firepit and grill. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We arrived not really knowing what to expect, very hopeful. It was beautiful. From the moment my husband and I walked in we loved it. We are already putting the fund aside for next year.
Marian C. Oct 2014
We were at Yurt on the Bay in late October just as a storm was coming in. It was fun to watch it arrive from our seats facing the full glass door. The variety of birds to make an appearance was wonderful. We hope to come back and experience a calm time too.
Jamie L. Oct 2014
We came down for our second anniversary and had the best time! The Yurt was perfect for a couple and a pup! There was everything we needed and it was super cozy. Even though it was a bit rainy and stormy, being on the water was so cool! And hearing the rain and wind in the Yurt at night was cozy and fun as well. We even got a sunset one night, so beautiful!! Lots of things to do around town and not too far of a drive from Portland. Definitely coming back here again!!!! Thanks!

Will come again!

It was a lot of fun staying at the yurt. Great location on the bay and tucked backed away from the neighborhood for plenty of privacy. The owners of the yurt Diane & Becky live next door and were very helpful and friendly. It was the best place that we stayed at on our ten day trip through Oregon.

Everything went very smoothly! Well done!

A perfect spot to get away and re-connect with my daughter. Quiet & secluded, yet close to beaches & shops. Perfect that we could bring the puppy that we didn't have when rental was booked!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Yurt on the Beach. The location is steps from the ocean and all amenities were cozy and clean. We greatly enjoyed the private hot-tub and fire-pit and would definitely love to come back one day!

My friends and I stayed at the Yurt on the Bay recently and we enjoyed our experience. Although it was a bit of a squeeze for the 4 of us, we still enjoyed the view and the peace. The smores were also a nice touch!
