Valhalla was the eternal home of Nordic and Germanic warriors who fell honorably in battle. It is portrayed in the Norse sagas and the operas of Richard Wagner as a stately mansion on a height overlooking the water, with a great stone fireplace. Such is this home on the Little Saluda River, on the west end of Lake Murray.
This home has modern conveniences, lovely knotty pine paneling, a tremendous cathedral ceiling, extensive artwork, great privacy, a great view, large area in the front yard for playing, deck and gazebo, and a boat storage port, along with a carport. You can even bring your dogs.
Access is off highway 391 north of the Saluda traffic circle, less than one hour from downtown Columbia. The dock is directly below the property, operated by the community association, but little used. Boats can be launched less than a mile away adjacent to Camp Barstow. Boats can be secured on the dock during your stay. Adjacent to the property is the community association’s picnic area.
