Cozy cottage w/ big deck, ocean views & 8 shared acres - near trails & beaches!

Immerse yourself in the pristine scenery of the Northern California Coast at this two-bedroom cottage, a remodeled Albion retreat with a private deck, sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, and a wonderful location for family get-togethers and quiet beach getaways.

Scenically situated on an ocean-facing property that once served as a stagecoach stop in the 1860s, this single-level cottage shares eight acres of land with two other vacation homes and the owner's residence. The Seashore Cottage can be rented on its own, or together with the one-bedroom Tower House for family reunions, weddings, and couples' retreats.

No matter the size of your group, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding meadow, cypress trees, and ocean - all just nine miles south of downtown Mendocino, nine miles north of Elk, and 23 miles from the world-class wineries in the heart of the Anderson Valley.

Freshly remodeled and full of natural sunlight, the living space is the restful retreat you've been searching for. Feel the soft carpeting beneath your feet, take a seat on the plush sofa to admire the ocean in the distance, and light the gas-powered fireplace to keep warm as the evening fog rolls in.

With no TV or cable service, this home will encourage your family to relax, reconnect, play board games by the fire, and prepare meals together in the full kitchen. Store your groceries in the plentiful cabinetry, flip pancakes and brew coffee each morning, and sit down to eat homemade breakfasts at the spacious dining room table.

Take morning drives to the beach in the Navarro River Estuary State Marine Conservation Area two miles south, or spend your afternoons hiking the nearby Navarro Point Preserve and Scenic Trail. Come home to sip a local Red Seal Ale outside on the deck, which offers spectacular views of the sunset on the ocean.

With two bedrooms that each include their own individual heaters, this Albion cottage will accommodate as many as four guests. You'll find a king-size bed in the master bedroom, a queen-size bed in the guest room, and a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room. The one full bathroom features a walk-in shower.

Whether you're visiting the Northern California Coast to hike, explore wild ocean beaches, or drive an iconic stretch of Highway 1, you can do it all in and around Albion. Make a morning tee time at the Little River Golf Course six miles north, or drive a few miles further to walk the charming streets of Mendocino. Gaze at the rugged bluffs in Mendocino Headlands State Park, or sit down for a romantic meal at Cafe Beaujolais in town.

Green thumbs will delight in a visit to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens 16 miles north, while Glass Beach - a marvel of the Northern California Coast - sits only three miles further. Wine lovers can take leisurely drives into the Anderson Valley to tour the local vineyards, and beer lovers can make themselves at home in the North Coast Brewing taproom 19 miles north in Fort Bragg.

If you want seclusion this is the perfect place for you. It had a pretty view from afar. There is no TV, no phone. There is WiFi. When I cooked dinner preheating the oven or on the stove it set off the smoke detectors. For my son with a disability it was very loud and scary. It is a drive to get to a beach. The one near was closed. You need to bring spices, plastic bags and tin foil and spices. I wouldn’t stay there again unfortunately. There were other things that I didn’t care for as well.

Very nice location and clean. Could use a BBQ and more cooking equipment. Otherwise a great place to stay!

My husband and two daughters (2 years old and 3 month old) stayed at the Seaside Cottage in Albion. We loved it here and it was exactly what our family needed for our vacation. The location is close to many beaches, Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The property is not a ritzy 5 star hotel, but that's not what we were looking for. We simply wanted a place where we could let our children play, sleep and cook them a meal or two so we didn't have to eat out the entire vacation. I loved the acreage that surrounded the property. My daughter enjoyed going out into the field, collecting rocks and pine cones. The only cons were some kitchen essentials (salt and pepper) were missing and the home smelt a little weird. We did end up going to the market and buying some salt and pepper to leave in the home. In short: this property is perfect for a family who needs a cozy home away from home!

The place is located off hywy-1 overlooking the pacific ocean. The location is very quiet and pristine. The property looks freshly painted although the furnishing could better. Please note that there is no dishwasher in the kitchen and low waterflow in the kitchen faucet makes dishwashing a chore. All the blinds are flimsy or broken so be careful opening/closing. This includes the bathroom door. We also found the kitchen poorly stocked - no salt/pepper, sugar etc. These things should be there given the isolated location of the property. There is no cellular service or TV in the house. In fact the entire city of Albion has no cell service. This place is suitable for people who seek extreme isolation and don't care about amenities. This is not for folks who desire full amenities or day to day convenience.

The house is spacious and in a wonderfu location. On a very quiet property with a beautiful view but still very close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
This would be a great place for a family!
