Unwind at this secluded & rustic ocean cottage, close to beach w/ocean views!

Relax, unplug, and unwind at this rustic Albion bungalow, a charming and unique cottage with a beautifully secluded position on eight shared acres, lovely views of the Pacific Ocean, and easy access to beaches, trails, and the town of Mendocino.

This private, two-level home sits in a grassy field on eight ocean view acres - the site of a 19th century stagecoach stop and the original Fensalden Inn. This listing includes the Bungalow House for up to four guests, but larger groups can also rent the neighboring one-bedroom (plus a loft) Tower House and the two-bedroom Seashore Cottage, both of which are located on this spacious property (along with the owner's home).

Whether you're planning a family reunion or a romantic weekend getaway on the Northern California Coast, you'll be a few steps from woodland trails, one mile from the open ocean, three miles north of Navarro Beach, and nine miles south of the darling restaurants and galleries in downtown Mendocino.

Enjoy privacy and gorgeous ocean scenery here on the far end of the property, and step inside to discover an atmospheric living space. Admire natural wood beams that mirror the driftwood on the shores, warm your toes by the gas-powered fireplace, and feel free to relax without the distractions of WiFi or TV (please note that Verizon cell phone service is usually available).

Pop a disc in the CD player, curl up with a novel or a crossword puzzle on the sofa, and poke around the kitchenette when you begin to get hungry. Pick up a few groceries in Mendocino to store in the small refrigerator, and use the oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and provided pots and pans to whip up your favorite meals and snacks.

Sit down to eat at the large dining table by the window, or move outside to the picnic table to gaze at the ocean in the distance. Spend the day reading, hiking, or beach-combing, and return home for a quiet evening of stargazing on the deck.

With one bedroom, a loft, and one full bathroom, the Bungalow House will accommodate four guests (including a maximum of four adults). You'll find a queen-size bed in the downstairs bedroom and a sofabed in the living room. The small loft features a futon for additional sleeping space, but please note that the steep ladder staircase makes this area unsuitable for children under eight. The quirky full bathroom has a standing shower and a deep jetted tub.

Spend your mornings reading magazines on the deck, and use the afternoons to explore the surrounding Northern California Coast. You'll be just nine miles south of Mendocino, where you can wander through Mendocino Headlands State Park, pop in and out of art galleries, and sit down for dinner at Cafe Beaujolais.

Share a delicious meal at Ledford House in Albion less than two miles north, or take a drive to Fort Bragg 19 miles up Shoreline Highway. Spend a day or two wine-tasting in the Anderson Valley, taking walks on Navarro Beach, or watching the sunset at the Point Cabrillo Light Station just 13 miles up the coast.

Discover the endless beauty of the Northern California Coast - make your next home away from home at this Albion bungalow! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

You must be 21 years or older to rent this property.

Very rustic, secluded, comfy little place. Deer in the meadow. Nice view from the deck. No walking trail to the beach. Close drive to lots of fun. Perfect weather weekend for our anniversary. Enjoyed it very much.

Great Cabin with a really nice view of the ocean. My wife and I loved sitting on the porch. Only draw back is the step down to kitchen is a bit dangerous for kids. Our little one took a spill but didn't stop her from having a good time!

Beautiful views, privacy and comforts of a home away from home. Plenty of nearby beaches and nature, yet close enough to drive to Mendocino to go shopping, or Fort Bragg for groceries and supplies. Great rustic property and loved the area!

We really liked this spot. It was cute, clean, a bit rustic and had everything we needed. Great location and just around the corner off the 128. Pretty great jumping off point to everything we wanted to check out in the area. Thanks for a nice stay!

We spent two nights on a wedding anniversary trip (44 years) travelling from our home in Colorado. The Bungalow was just perfect for us. Thank you so much!

This place was awesome. The bungalow itself was in its own private corner, it was super clean and equipped with everything we needed(Kitchen, toiletries). It was a great place to get away and just sit and relax on the porch, enjoy the views and take a nice hot tub. The yard was so big and so fun to play around in. All in all was a beautiful and cozy place. We’ll definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

What a great place!

Loved the quietness and rustic charm. This place could easily be a 5 by cleaning up some of the junk in the yard, having more holds to hang things in since there is no closet and updating the cheap plastic ones that are there. Also a TV and DVD player are cheap easy fixes to the " no Internet, cell reception" problem. If your a reader your gotten if not, well We brought ours and could snuggle down in the evening with a movie. This place should be advertised to hold 4 easily.

More than enough room for two people: possibly even good for 4 (but there was only 2 of us). It had everything we needed and was a nice location for exploring beyond Albion: especially close to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg.
Monica G. Jul 2018
Cozy, private and separation of space via bedroom door. Only suggestion would be to have a land line phone for emergencies since there is no WiFi (which we support)!
Frederic T. Jul 2018
Loved this quiet little bungalow. Perfect for a retreat from noise, internet, etc.

wonderful, beautiful! space, near to the beach, near montecino 15 min.

Loved it here, the deck is amazing and the place is very nice and cozy. Would highly recommend. There is no wifi, so be prepared that the only place you will get any kind of reception is in the actual town of Mendocino.

Property has a lot going for it, but let down by the fine details.

We loved a little getaway. It was peaceful and serene in the cozy cabin.

The Bunker was a great place to stay. It's in a central location & convinient to all the local spots. It was clean and very well taken care of. The Vacasa staff were great - they even shipped us a flashlight that we accidentaly left behind. I wouls recommend this location to anyone.
