This private, two-level home sits in a grassy field on eight ocean view acres - the site of a 19th century stagecoach stop and the original Fensalden Inn. This listing includes the Bungalow House for up to four guests, but larger groups can also rent the neighboring one-bedroom (plus a loft) Tower House and the two-bedroom Seashore Cottage, both of which are located on this spacious property (along with the owner's home).

Whether you're planning a family reunion or a romantic weekend getaway on the Northern California Coast, you'll be a few steps from woodland trails, one mile from the open ocean, three miles north of Navarro Beach, and nine miles south of the darling restaurants and galleries in downtown Mendocino.

Enjoy privacy and gorgeous ocean scenery here on the far end of the property, and step inside to discover an atmospheric living space. Admire natural wood beams that mirror the driftwood on the shores, warm your toes by the gas-powered fireplace, and feel free to relax without the distractions of WiFi or TV (please note that Verizon cell phone service is usually available).

Pop a disc in the CD player, curl up with a novel or a crossword puzzle on the sofa, and poke around the kitchenette when you begin to get hungry. Pick up a few groceries in Mendocino to store in the small refrigerator, and use the oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and provided pots and pans to whip up your favorite meals and snacks.

With one bedroom, a loft, and one full bathroom, the Bungalow House will accommodate four guests (including a maximum of four adults). You'll find a queen-size bed in the downstairs bedroom and a sofabed in the living room. The small loft features a futon for additional sleeping space, but please note that the steep ladder staircase makes this area unsuitable for children under eight. The quirky full bathroom has a standing shower and a deep jetted tub.

Spend your mornings reading magazines on the deck, and use the afternoons to explore the surrounding Northern California Coast. You'll be just nine miles south of Mendocino, where you can wander through Mendocino Headlands State Park, pop in and out of art galleries, and sit down for dinner at Cafe Beaujolais.
