The view! The home was amazing too! Everything you needed was provided and the house has an old soul! There are treasures around every corner of the home, along with the inviting and warm ambience it gives off. The house has a lot of history and you can feel it in her bones. Thank you Jessica for providing such wonderful service and making sure all our needs were met. Vacasa is very lucky to have you! I will return again, and again!
The location near the state park and the coastal view were amazing!
The house is cute, roomy. But the view from the living room and backyard was the best part! We braved the steps and walked the beach, looking at tidal pools and critters. Very fun time.
Did I mention the views?? Really, a wonderful place for quiet getaway!! The beach is nothing short of amazing!!
We loved the house and a great view, plus our own private beach access was awesome. We will continue to get rentals through Vacasa for our future anniversary. Every house rental we have got since 2013 has been amazing.
This was our second stay, it was stunning. Honestly, the house was on the cool side. The private beach is great. The stairs are not for the faint of heart. 60 steps of terror 😯. The crab pots in the garage are not usable, just FYI. We always come in February, rates are cheap and it is a fabulous storm watching house. I would not recommend small children or uncontrollable pets. Danger!!! We had a great time. The views and light house make this home the perfect get away.
The view the view the view. Amazing view off the bluff of the lighthouse and ocean. The beach itself is great; accessing it is a bit of an adventure though as it's quite a bit of stairs down to the sand. The house was very clean and well stocked for those planning to make their own meals etc. The sofa sleeper bed was extremely comfortable which was a very pleasant surprise.
Unbeatable view of the Pacific Ocean and a lighthouse too!!! Amazing stay. Love this house.
The House was as described and right on the beach! We traveled with young boys and they absolutely loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to return! Jessica from vacasa was very helpful and polite.
I loved the big living room with the best views of the Cape Arago Lighthouse and the ocean and boats coming and going! I loved the fire pit and the flower filled backyard! It is an older home but it is very clean and so very comfortable:)
The view is to die for! The house was perfect for a quiet weekend away. The access to the beach below was so much fun. Close to all the beautiful trails and beaches in the area. My only concern was there was a slight mold/moisture smell when we first got there. Very minor and not a big deal for us.
This is a common odor in our coastal homes, but guests are always welcome to call us with any concerns during their visits. Thank you!
The views are amazing from every seat in the house. Wonderful setting, relaxing and quiet.
There are many positives things to say about this rental. We were not able to spend as much time there as we had hoped, as we were visiting relatives. The view is phenomenal! The walk down to the beach is precarious, but manageable. And the beach is great, especially at low tide. The house itself was very functional for us and we loved the size of the living area. It could use some updating, however we felt the price was appropriate for the property.
This is a very special place with incredible views, yard, and access to the beautiful state park just minutes away. Though somewhat dated, it is a homey, comfortable gathering place for families to do many activities on the premises or nearby. We visited in the rainy winter so didn't get to take advantage of the beach, the deck chairs, fire-pit and crab pots. Will have to go back!
excellent location , good service by Vacasa. Enjoyed Miller's @ the Cove. Check out Cape Arago State Park & all the vistas. Shore Acres was phenomenal. Great Gardens there. Go to South Slough Reserve. The hike is to die for especially the Hidden Creek walk.
A comfortable house with beautiful views.
We loved staying here. The sunsets were amazing and the ocean views are unmatched!!
The house is not new or modern but well equipped and very comfortable. We brought our east coast guests here and they also loved it. The beautiful windows gave us a great view.
We actually saw whales right down in the bay!!! It was a great three days! We hope to do it again next year.
We were very impressed with the view, both from inside the house and outside. We even saw a whale feeding near the shore each day!
We loved it, what an amazing view! Important to realize you have to climb down significant amount of steps to the beach (so no knee problems allowed). Great "private" beach. You can walk to Sunset Beach as well. Easy drive to Bandon for some shopping or have a fire in back yard to enjoy the sunset. We don't have any children, but I can imagine it would be a great house for them! Although be aware of the bluff. Pull out sofa was more comfortable than my bed at home, really.
My husband and I brought my elderly mother here to enjoy the ocean. She loved that she could bring her small dogs and gaze at the ocean. Since the house is one level we were able to get her around with her walker. My husband and I enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and the beach down below. We ate crab that I caught and fantastic fish from the pier market in town. Enjoy hiking the trails and the state park down at the end of the road. 20 minutes to the sand dunes for UTV riding also!
We had family guest from Michigan come for my husband's birthday. They were blown away by the views from the house and the beach access. We were really fortunate that the weather co-operated and we had warm sunny weather the whole time we were there!!!
It is all about the view at this location
The master bedroom bed is extremely comfortable and there are lots of fluffy white towels. The views of the ocean and lighthouse are stunning!! Our main complaint is with the vertical blinds in the living room. There are three large picture windows. A lot of the slats are missing on the middle window giving only privacy half way across. Also some slats are missing on other windows , too. No curtains in kitchen (just a valance) so be sure and bring a bathrobe for evening. I was uncomfortable with limited privacy from curtains and a neighbor that is close by. Drain in bathroom sink didn't drain at all. This house just needs a bit of maintenance. Porch light we used for lighting goes on and off. Shower door in bathroom doesn't stay on track. Is fully stocked though with dishes and every spice you can think of. There are loads of games, toys, books, and DVD's. The stairs to the beach are STEEP. As a senior citizen, I would never attempt those. Also be aware there is a step going from the kitchen to the bedroom area and another step going into the master bedroom. We had to keep reminding ourselves they were there. Not totally one level. The house was fairly clean-could have been vacuumed more thoroughly as there was a lot of dog hair on living room carpet. The house does smell musty but there are three dehumidifers that do help. After all, it is on the ocean. I was born and raised in Coos Bay and have fond memories of the Lighthouse--I so enjoyed the view. I loved the large living room the most. Especially with the gas fireplace going. It took us several days to figure out the fireplace is run by one of the thermostats. I think for our visit next year we are going to look and see what else VACASA has to offer in rental houses. The pictures of this home are pretty accurate. It has been a really neat house at one time, but for the money that is charged, I want something that is a bit more maintained.
We're sorry the guest experienced some minor inconveniences. The property manager has scheduled repairs for the home next week, including the clogged drain, inspection of the exterior lights and ordering new blinds. Thank you.
Great views!! We watched the tides coming in and out around the light house, the ships going in and out of the bay, and even a pod of orcas hunting just below us!! All from the comfort of the couch!
This is an older home in a truly wonderful location. The view is of Cape Arago Lighthouse and the ocean. Two bedrooms - one really large with it's own bath and a queen sized bed - and the second much smaller but still with a queen size bed. Everything we used in the house worked - tv, washer and dryer, dishwasher, tons of games and books, nice sheets and towels - and plenty of them.
The house is 2.3 miles past the town of Charleston which is low on touristy stuff and big on fishing, crabbing and very helpful locals. There are a couple of really good restaurants where we enjoyed local fish, oysters and really good gluten free chowder. We'll definitely be back!
Excellent location. Views are breathtaking; house is very comfortable. Nothing fancy, but well-stocked and homey. HOWEVER, we suggest you visit in milder weather rather than the winter. The bedrooms have inadequate or no heat, and we were very uncomfortable at night. Also, the stairs to the beach (pretty steep but solid)were wet and very slippery. I almost fell on the first attempt; we never went down to the beach after that. All that said, we had a wonderful, relaxing time; got all of the privacy and quiet we needed. Fascinating watching the fishing boats at night.
This house has amazing views and beach access. It was clean enough and comfortable for our family, including kids and dog. We appreciated the use of the crab rings and the fire pit in the back yard. It felt a bit like 'grandma's house": dated, but comfortable and cozy. We would stay again.
This is a nice home, comfortable and warm. The beds were very comfortable. The view from the living room very nice, but the kitchen and master bedroom view is spectacular. We loved the private beach, rainbows over the lighthouse and watching the whales. The stairway down to the beach is not for the faint of heart, but the beach is worth it.
