This was my first time visiting Northern CA ,and I must say, it was worth it.
From hiking in the redwoods in the morning just minutes away to getting my 10,000 steps in with beachfront views, the cottage is the perfect place to unwind and start relaxing.
Next, we able to relate to our tranquil surrounding Then it was time to release all days burdens leaving them behind before walking in the door. Stress free, beautiful sunsets, clean crisp air, and all the comfort food we could find.
can't wait to go back.

Location was good. House well supplied in kitchen . Could not use kayaks as they were too heavy to move and the canal water was not suitable to enter
Jane, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in our home and that the location was coveiennt. As noted in the listing, the kayaks are ocean worthy which means the size and weight is for safety. The canals go straight to the ocean and can be used safely by kayaks. You do have to go with teh tides, so if it’s low tide the canal can’t be entered at that time. We hope to host you again in the future.

Very clean and comfortable. Lots of small features that made it even more pleasant. If I could give it a higher rating than 5 stars, I would!!

The dock and kayaks really make this a great spot for nature lovers. Striking distance to all the best redwood groves and coastline. We’ll appointed kitchen and furnishings throughout.

We loved our stay at Cottage on the Canal! Easy to get to, clean and comfortable, and the owners have made it welcoming to guests. We loved taking walks down to bay to watch the sunset. You can even watch the goats across the canal for daily entertainment! We give this home 5/5 stars!

The owner has thought of everything. All the things you need to cook your own meal, relax on the patio,do some kayaking or go for a bike ride. And, it was all very clean and neat.I would definitely stay here again.

We as a family of four stayed at this adorable cottage for six days in April and it was just perfect. The house was immaculate and comfortable. We were able to grab groceries from the Winco and easily cook and prepare our meals in the fully stocked kitchen. The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing. Our teens really enjoyed the kayaks and the launch was so easy to use. We took many walks on the beach nearby collecting sea shells. This house was close enough to do day trips to the national parks (Avenue of Giants), visit other beaches, Historic Arcata and Eureka and so much more. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer! We hope to go back again someday soon.

This was a cute cozy cottage right on a canal. My kids loved the upstairs room that looked out onto the water. We had everything we needed.

Loved the kayaks and the upstairs. Well-stocked. We could not find a beach or bike trail close to the house, though. The nearby restaurant is yummy and easily walkable, but does not serve dinner.

Quaint house for a small family getaway!

Vacation in Eureka: The house was in a good location, but the dryer did not work and I was nervous about space heaters to heat the house at night especially on the 2nd level. Also I suggest having more fire extinguishers in this home due to the amount of space heaters used to heat upstairs and living room.
Hi, Margaret! We appreciate you sharing your feedback. The dryer is slow but works. The space heaters have functioned well for many years without any fire concerns, but there are fire extinguishers available as a general safety precaution. Thank you!

Thank you for such a wonderful a place to stay to relax. Everything was clean and had all the things we needed in the kitchen to cook all the meals we needed. We enjoyed the kayaks and the walk to the beach. The only issue was the sliding back door... it didn't want to play nice at times :)
Thank you, and we will be booking again. ~ Angela

We loved the deck and kayaks; comfortable beds; equipped full kitchen and general location.

We had two adults and two kids staying here. Quaint but totally enough space. The amenities of having kayaks was super fun as the place is right on the bay and you can leave from the dock in the back of your house. We cooked one meal and were surprised at the amount of pots pans, usable stove And dishware to make ourselves at home. It wasn’t far at all from eureka and I am going to definitely book back here again hopefully soon!!!
This place is a great spot right on the bay and takes only one minute to be on 101 and a couple minutes to be in town, plenty of parking, indoor laundry, tv, internet. Thanks for everything will stay here again.
This was a very nice place to stay, very clean, easy check in and great communication. Highly recommended staying here.
