We have stayed at second impulse many times, the location is great, the house was clean but could use some updating, but over all we had a wonderful time and would love to go back.

Overall the house was great and in good condition.
Great location. Walk to Corolla town or ocean beach in less than 5 min.

You can see the ocean from too balcony!
Perfect size for 2 families of 4.

Perfectly located - close to the beach, close to the shopping center, and close to Timbuk II! Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all the amenities the house has to offer. Pool, hot tub, and deck area are fantastic for enjoying the afternoon sun. We've stayed here 4 times in the past 6 years and will continue to rent if we come back to OBX!

We have been staying at Second Impulse now for 16 years, and have always enjoyed our vacation there. This year, while there have been some positive changes ( new flooring on the third floor, and replacement of some Queen-size beds with Kings) the place is now showing some serious wear and tare, The sofa in the main living area is long overdue for replacement, and the shag carpet on the stairs and second floor common areas badly needs replacing. In order to accommodate the king-size beds, some bedside tables had to be turned so that drawers are no longer accessible. A leak under the kitchen sink has caused the bottom of the cabinet to collapse, and this has not been replaced. The windows in the dining area are showing signs of water damage, and the complete lack of window blinds in this area ( something we have mentioned many times) makes it difficult to see when the sun is shining.
One major factor, however, are indications of a significant price increase for renting this home in 2022 is pricing the house out of reach compared to other similar homes in the area (yes, we have checked).

Thank you for choosing to stay with us, Stuart. We appreciate your suggestions for improvement and have shared them with our home manager. The sofa is in good shape. The fabric is ultra-suede which tends to look stained but is sound and a nice-looking piece of furniture as the online photo will show. A carpet clean has been scheduled as well. Regarding the blinds in the dining room, it is an owner's preference to have window treatments but not blinds to have the best views of the oceanfront. The windows in the dining room need attention due to some water damage. The owner is aware and repair will be an off-season project. The leak under the sink was worked on and repairs have been completed. Please keep an eye on the calendar as prices do flex up and down, based on availability and the dates that a guest is looking into booking. Additionally, we have agents available 24/7 to assist with finding the best possible vacation rental for each guest's needs, location, and budget.

Huge kitchen and pool area was awesome

Booked Thursday April 29, 2021 through Sunday May 2, 2021. Pros: Bed was pretty comfortable, Close proximity to the beach. Spacious. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Cons: Arrived later in the evening Thursday, (1) air conditioning was not working. Outside unit was covered in ice. Since it was around 9 pm, I was instructed to turn the thermostat off except for the fan so it could thaw out over night, and it’d probably work once thawed. It was stifling overnight, and didn’t work once thawed. (2) The entryway was swarming with bugs. Exterminator came out, it was termites. Sprayed to kill them, but said it was only a bandaid. (3) TV screen in one of the bedrooms on 2nd floor was shattered. Not a big deal as we weren’t there to watch tv, but it looked like the previous guest tried to hide it, and we didn’t want to be blamed for it. Was hoping for a relaxing few days at the beach with parents that we had not seen in 3 years, but it was hot in the house & repair people were in and out for 2 days. Asked for a later checkout, was told the house was rented back to back dates and we couldn’t have one. Was told a manager from Vacasa would call Monday or Tuesday regarding the issues with the house, but have not heard from anyone. Will probably be leery to rent from this company in the future.
