This beautifully appointed getaway is one of five private suites in the Historic Rocky Cottage, an atmospheric complex of traditional stone cabins, shops, and four tasting rooms on the Highway 290 Wine Trail. These intimate suites can either be rented individually or all together for groups of up to 12 guests.
Wonderfully located six miles from downtown Fredericksburg, this wine country retreat is close to restaurants, historic sites, and a seasonal farmers market in the Marktplatz Kinderhalle. It's also just a short walk from Alexander Vineyards, Fiesta Winery, Rancho Ponte Vineyard, and Six Shooter Cellars.
Step inside to admire unique tin ceilings, wrought iron details, and cheerful country-inspired decor. A patterned rocking chair gives the living space a timeless charm, while a flatscreen cable TV provide modern convenience.
You'll have a coffee maker to help ease you into the day, but please be advised that there is no kitchen. Therefore, instead of spending your time cooking and cleaning, you'll be free to enjoy delicious lunches at the Sunset Grill in downtown Fredericksburg, or sit down for a lovely bistro dinner at Vaudeville.
The Tempranillo Suite also opens onto a beautiful shared courtyard full of shade trees, a bubbling waterfall feature, and even live music performances most Saturday afternoons, courtesy of the nearby Fiesta Winery.
At night, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom suite will sleep as many as four guests. There are two queen-size beds, each with an intricate wrought iron bed frame and a quilted coverlet, as well as one full bathroom with a stall shower. Dogs are welcome for a small nightly fee.
With wonderful shopping and four tasting rooms directly on the property, guests will never need to venture far to experience the Texas wine country. You'll find some of the best local wines just a short walk or drive away, including Grape Creek Vineyards and 4.0 Cellars, both of which are located four miles east.
