Great house, very spacious , clean and stylish.

We enjoyed our stay in Sorrento, but it is fair to say there were some positives and negatives to this apartment. First- the positives: The area is beautiful and the place is very close to the water.Trees in the yard provide a nicely shaded, cool house which is appreciated in the summer. We loved walking, running, and riding bikes around the peninsula throughout our stay. We also enjoyed being positioned in between Schoodic Point, and Acadia/ Bar Harbor areas. The place was newly renovated and the mattress in the Master BR was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed cooking in the big kitchen, relaxing in the living room at night, and the onsite use of the washer/dryer was great.
There were also a few drawbacks to the location as well: There were 3 bar stools and 2 high top tables, but no other kitchen/dining chairs. The place sleeps 5, but only has dining seating for 3. A few of the windows do not have blinds- notably the bathroom window. The upkeep of the yard could have been improved- lawn had not been mowed in several weeks, and there was an old bathtub in the backyard/ big pile of brush in the driveway. The Apartment was above a post office- this was not a problem, but light sleepers might be woken up by the loading of mail vehicles around 7:30 each morning. The staff of the rental company was helpful, as we requested an outdoor garbage can and it was brought the next day.
Overall, I really love this area, the food, the outdoor adventures, and the close proximity to the ocean. However, this property could use some improvements, otherwise I`d look to other properties in the area. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

This unit was a recent renovation which had not been completed. There were no knobs on the kitchen cupboards, making them nearly impossible to open; a hornet infestation in one of the bathrooms, making it dangerous to use; there were no blankets on the beds; there was no comfortable place to eat. Furniture was minimal. Worst of all, there was no generator, no flashlights and not even candles so when the power went out, it became an emergency situation. We tried to get help from the rental agent, but when we told them the power was on for neighbors, they dismissed our concerns. In fact, all the neighbors had generators because power outages are common. We learned from the local police that the power was out due to a downed tree. So we decamped to New Hampshire where relatives took us in. We requested a refund which was refused. We are still fighting over this. A miserable experience.
