Admire the unique arid beauty of Central Arizona in Dewey, a small high-desert community on the road north of Phoenix. Here, at an elevation of 4,556 feet, you'll find a mild four-season climate, access to hundreds of thousands of acres of national forest land, and an inviting respite for you and your family at our Dewey vacation rentals.
Unincorporated for more than a century until 2004, Dewey is now part of Dewey-Humboldt, a town of fewer than 4,000 residents with a history of agriculture, ranching, and mining. The community sits at a crossroads in the high desert of Central Arizona, with Prescott 18 miles west, the red rocks of Sedona 52 miles northeast, downtown Phoenix 84 miles south, and the majestic landscapes of the Grand Canyon 133 miles north.
With Prescott National Forest to the west and Coconino National Forest to the east, there's always an opportunity to get outdoors at our Dewey vacation homes.
Prescott National Forest is home to 100,000 acres of wilderness and 450 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails, including those in the Granite Mountain Wilderness 31 miles west of Dewey. A bit closer in are the calm, blue waters of Watson Lake, where you can take out your kayaks, spend a day rock climbing, or enjoy a picnic lunch with your loved ones at the water's edge.
If you head 44 miles east into the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, you'll be treated to 160,000 acres of gorgeous pinnacles, mesas, canyons, buttes, and a range of colors you never knew existed in nature.
Experience the temperate side of Arizona's beautiful desert - begin planning your escape to one of our Dewey vacation rentals today!
