Where Is Garden Grove?
About 35 miles south of vast and varied Los Angeles and just six miles away from the magical city of Anaheim, Garden Grove is one of the friendliest communities in Orange County. California Route 22 connects to Interstate 5 just outside Garden Grove, making it easy to travel in all directions. Disneyland is as close as five miles away, making our Garden Grove vacation rentals a fantastic possibility for anyone seeking a chance to meet Mickey.
What To Do in Garden Grove
Though small, Garden Grove is not without fun. There are many family-friendly activities, parks, and restaurants to make your Disney vacation unique and convenient.
One of the most striking sites in Garden Grove is its crown jewel, the Crystal Cathedral. Whether or not you have a Sunday morning ritual, the attraction is a must-see with its reflective all-glass building that will inspire many shares on Instagram. It houses the Hazel Wright organ, one of the largest musical instruments in the world.
Garden Grove Strawberry Festival
Held every Memorial Day weekend, the popular Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is a reason to visit in itself. You'll enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of a great American county fair while under the SoCal sun. Sample more varieties of strawberries than you knew existed and possibly nab a slice of the world’s largest strawberry shortcake. But don’t stuff yourself too much, as the festival hosts many carnival rides. It wouldn’t be a trip to California without spotting a celebrity! Luckily, the festival brings many each year, with past guests including Debbie Reynolds and Hilary Duff to get your dance on.
Day Trips from Garden Grove
In addition to spending a few days in Disneyland, you'll easily be able to visit the beach when you stay at one of our Garden Grove vacation rentals. Sunny Southern California beaches ranging from the exclusive to the bustling are less an hour's drive from Garden Grove.
Rollerblade or grab a smoothie on the famous boardwalks at Santa Monica and Venice Beach on the edge of Los Angeles. See the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Take a quiet run or walk your dog on Huntington Beach, or watch pro surfers tackle huge waves in Newport Beach. Sample a bit of luxury in Laguna Beach. Whatever sand you end up shaking out of your sneakers, you’ll have a private rental home to return to in Garden Grove.
