Great location. The townhouse has a good feel; it’s light, bright and very lofty with high ceilings, skylights & the steam shower was a bonus. We enjoyed the oversized sofa, the TVs and two patios. One with a BBQ and the other is large where we liked to sit. The weather was hot and appreciated the A/C. We loved that theres a pool, jacuzzi and better yet a beautiful beach under a 5 min walk , there is direct access to the beach from stairs and some may find that challenging or not it depends on the person. The beach itself was beautiful especially at low tide and the best part is that it wasnt crowded at all. Also its a great surf spot for beginners who are starting out or for people who just want to get in the ocean. We also liked that we could walk to the front of the complex which has great views of the ocean, bluff, beach and watched sunsets. One night we decided to take advantage of low tide to walk on the beach during sunset which was very beautiful and took the walk ramp up from Fletcher Cove to Station Sushi had a great meal then took Sierra Ave back to the house. There’s a farmers market on Sundays and a variety of restaurants to go to anywhere from CPK to upscale Pamplamouse and local spots like Bankok Bay, Pacifica, Poseidon, the Pillbox, Fidels etc..and the Del Mar Fairgrounds is under a mile away. Theres a Quick Mart store store right across the street which is super convenient and they make great sandwiches at a good price. It was great to have many things nearby within walking distance and everything else was a short drive and its in the middle of SD which puts you 25-35 mins to either Oceanside or Downtown SD. We loved that the condo is dog friendly and the host even had doffie bowls . Happy to find this spot and are definitley coming back again!

The location is good, not too far from beaches and restaurants. You can walk to The Brigantine, a long-time San Diego restaurant, that has a fantastic view. The food is pricey (and for us, the food wasn’t quite up to the price). It’s popular with the racing set. The complex has a wonderful pool and a nice hot tub. The in-unit washer and dryer were appreciated. The place is quiet and has nice patios for outdoor lounging. There are two parking places, which is great. Parking two cars there could be challenging. The main bedroom is very large and has a cool steam sauna in the shower. There is no door on the ensuite. One AC control set the temp for the two bedrooms. The second was artic, the main was much warmer, so that is an issue if AC is important to you. The unit is one flight up from the garage and the bedrooms on the first floor. Another flight up takes to you to the living areas. Keep that in mind if lugging your items up many stairs is a problem for you. There are lots of big TVs. Can't speak to those--never turned one on. As with many of these places, they look like model homes in pictures, but are not very functional. Such as, where do you put your stuff, are there cooking basics, are the windows/doors working, how do you do certain chores, etc. Overall, more information and attention to detail would be helpful.

This house had everything. Close to restaurants, shopping, attractions and the beach. Very roomy and comfortable for us and our two adult children. Lots of space to relax or play games indoors and out. Thoughtfully appointed with most things we needed. Vacasa staff were very responsive to the small issues we experienced. We loved our stay here and cannot wait to return.

Where Is Solana Beach, CA?

Located just 25 miles north of picturesque San Diego and close enough to the popular Del Mar Race Track that you can almost hear the commencement gun-shot, Solana Beach is the perfect vacation spot. Though quaint, you'll have everything you need within the four-square miles. But, if you do feel like venturing further from your Solana Beach, CA vacation rental, there are numerous spots to take an exciting day trip. Encinitas is a mere three miles north, and you can even take the train up for a morning yoga class or a visit to the famous white sands of Moonlight Beach.

Things to Do in Solana Beach, CA

One of the best parts of Solana Beach? Everything is walkable. There's really no need to even rent a car for your trip. Even locals walk to the grocery store, to drop their kids off at school, and to delicious eateries like the Beach Grass Cafe for a mouthwatering house-smoked salmon omelet for breakfast. Cedros Design District is easily the best shopping area and boasts everything from handcrafted furniture, art, and jewelry to cafes and restaurants. Visit the Belly Up Tavern, famous for its frequent hosting of pop legends and intimate setting.

Of course, let's not forget you are here to spend time at the beach! And Seaside San Elijo Lagoon Reserve, a 900-acre shallow-water estuary, has something for everyone. Play in the water, hike along the five miles of gorgeous trails, and jog or cycle down the two-mile path.

Best Beaches in Solana Beach, CA

So what sets Solana Beach apart from all the other California coast cities? The surf. Up and down the mile-and-a-half of beach are surfers looking for (and finding!) the best waves. Seaside is one of the best surf spots and is located at the northern tip. Tide Beach is known for having the best sand, and even has tide pools from a patch of reef nearby. And the most family-friendly beach would be Fletcher Cove, also know as Pillbox. Here, you can enjoy the playground or grassy area at Fletcher Cove Park, or take the concrete ramp down to the beachfront to explore the caves sculpted into the cliff that run up and down Solana Beach.

Don't let the cliff-side scare you off from the beach here, either. Staircases line the cliff edges for easier beach access, and it's so worth it when you make it down to the water. And the best part is that there's free parking everywhere, so no need to run back to feed the meter right in the middle of a building sand castles.

Relax and recharge with a small town feeling in a state full of bustling towns when you choose a Solana Beach, CA vacation rental.
