Enjoy delicious food, listen to live music, and check out the pie baking and wood splitting competitions. Look for the annual rotating sculpture exhibit downtown, and see what plays are running at the Thunder River Theater Company during your stay.

Meander through the Crystal River Valley via West Elk Loop, Maroon Bells - two of Colorado's "fourteeners" (mountains over 14,000 feet) - Castle Creek Road, Independence Pass, Kebler Pass, and Frying Pan Road to witness stunning mountain ranges, alpine blossoms in spring, and fall colors in all their glory.

Winter guests can indulge in plenty of downhill skiing and snowboarding at nearby resorts such as Snowmass, Highlands, Buttermilk, and Crested Butte. Or, stick close to your rental home for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and sledding.
