If you're considering a trip to the Daytona Beach area but looking for a place to stay with more of a small town vibe, Holly Hill, located just north of downtown Daytona Beach, may be just the destination for you!
Whether you're a snowbird setting your sights on a long-term rental in a quiet, residential neighborhood, or you're travelling with family and want to find a place to call home that's just far enough away from Daytona's congested beaches and busy streets, consider one of our Holly Hill vacation rentals for your next Florida getaway!
Holly Hill is a small city in Volusia County with a resident population of around 12,000. Unlike Daytona Beach, all of Holly Hill is located on the mainland bordered by North Nova Road to the west, and Halifax River to the east. Travelers approaching from the north or south can take U.S. Route 1 right into the heart of Holly Hill or Interstate 95, which runs parallel to the city just four-and-a-half miles west.
Unlike Daytona Beach, where many young people come out to play on the Atlantic Coast and party in some of the hottest nightclubs in the area, Holly Hill caters more to those seeking a little break from the hustle and bustle while still being conveniently close to miles of beautiful sandy beaches. Those wishing to travel over to the barrier island can easily do so by a number of routes.
Spend some time in Sunrise Park alongside the Halifax River where you can have a picnic, walk the paved paths, or take a stroll out onto the pier and cast a line or two into the river. Those looking for offshore or deep sea fishing excursions will have no trouble finding a number of local marinas offering both options.
Golfers staying in Holly Hill will want to challenge the 18-hole, 71-par Riviera Country Club, while others looking to have some fun in the sun will enjoy Bike Week in March and Biketoberfest in October. Other fun outdoor events include monthly car shows, antique shows, and organized walks, as well as various holiday celebrations throughout the year.
While Daytona Beach offers surf, sand, and unparalleled nightlife (as well as one of the most famous speedways on the planet just six miles away), Holly Hill's prime location places it relatively close to a number of other fun and exciting destinations.
Head just a little over 50 miles north to visit St. Augustine, famous for its Spanish colonial architecture and the impressive Castillo de San Marcos - the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States. Check out the Kennedy Space Center, about 70 miles down the coast, for a fascinating look at the history of space travel. You might even witness a rocket launch while you're there!
And for the ultimate day trip, take the whole family over to Orlando to experience Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida, about 70 miles southwest.
Whether you're looking to spend some time in Daytona Beach or just want a quiet Florida getaway in a friendly town, stay in one of our Holly Hill vacation rentals for your next trip.
