There's a trail along the ocean between Sunset Bay State Park and Shore Acres State Park - we accessed it by parking along the road at one of the turnouts for that purpose. It was a great walk with fantastic ocean views. The turn-around point is Shores Acres and from where we parked it was between 3 and 4 miles. We'll definitely do that again.

The picture view of the "river" was deceiving. We thought we would be able to walk down and fish; no such way. We had to drive 15 to 20 minutes away from the home for any activities.

Shore Acres was great. I had heard a lot about it and obviously the flowers are probably better in the spring and summer but it was still nice. I've heard that Christmas time there is spectacular.

The picture in your listing with the water area was lovely although what we found in reality was that that it was a slough and the water area was mud (not the water shown in the photo) when we arrived and looked muddy quite a bit of the time. I assumed that there was water access from the property as there are in many rentals. There was no water access and that was very disappointing.

Chuck's Seafood Store was fantastic. Live crabs that were delicious in the crab pots provided in the kitchen. We also got shelled oysters, breaded and fried them and they were the hit of the night. We had the most wonderful meal right at the house.

Definitely clamming was extremely fun and of course one must try crabbing too. If you are an oyster lover, your place to buy is Chuck's. There are places to rent everything that you need so that you can avoid heavy packing when everything is readily available.

The area where the house was alright. The view out the window was great, but Charleston starts to shine when you cross the bridge and do the beach loop.

Fisherman's Wharf was amazing!! We brought our children ages 14, 12 and 7. They all had an amazing time. The seals there are very people friendly and were even eating fish out of their hands. Plus the crabbing and clamming was a blast and an adventure. I would definitely recommend getting the clamming tube, we limited out once we purchased it. It is sold right on the Wharf in the store in the parking lot.
