Recent Port Orford guest reviews

This was the second time our family has stayed at Coast Haven and it was just as nice as the last. The view of this property through the front windows is gorgeous rain or shine! There are great amenities like a washer & dryer, and a fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of space for a family of five to six. The jacuzzi tub is very relaxing as well. I did leave a private review for some improvements we noticed... Overall, its a beautiful home and we're thankful for the hospitality. We would love to return in the future or recommend the location to others.

There was a high wind warning all weekend, so my husband and I were pretty much hunkering down and batting down the hatches during the wind storm. At one point, I couldn’t shut the truck door because of the wind! We spent our time watching one crazy guy stuck in the whitewater on the shore, trying for an hour to get the windsurfer board moving. Glad he didn’t get moving, or it would have been a heartbreaking story. Anyway, the house stayed cozy and warm and the view was spectacular! The jetted indoor tub is just as good as trying the hot tub, but with more privacy. Heated floors are a nice touch. Some food has been left behind in the kitchen pantry, from past tenants, so there is no lack of necessities. The bed is great, bring your own pillow if you can.

This was a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing place to come visit while in town to see my parents. The view is off the chart beautiful and the town very cute. Great accomodations.

Beach comb, fly a kite, build sandcastles - Port Orford has it all! From here, you'll be just 56 miles north of Brookings and about 27 miles south of Bandon. Day trips in either direction, along Highway 101 are a scenic and fun way to spend the day. If you do want to stay near your Port Orford lodging, right in town you can visit Battle Rock, a famous battlesite between opposing forces in 1851. At Port Orford Bay, there are opportunities for wind, board, and body surfing, and in calm weather, you can head out in a canoe or kayak. Visit the Orford Reefs, the sea lion rookery, and keep an eye out for gray whales during the migration seasons.

Throughout Port Orford, there is an extensive trail system winding through town. It's a great way to sight-see on two feet. Other hiking options include nearby Cape Blanco State Park (also home to an historic lighthouse), the Blacklock Point Trail, Humbug Mountain, and even Buffington Park. Here you can also play miniature golf, horseshoes, basketball, or visit a butterfly and hummingbird garden. And when you work up an appetite, this small town is big on dining options, whether it's Crazy Norwegians for crab melts or the Paradise Cafe for home-style country breakfasts.
