About Stock Island
Sunshine, emerald green water, and marinas around every corner are just a few of the aspects that make Stock Island a great spot for those looking for a slower pace to their Florida vacation. Leave behind the hustle and bustle of downtown Key West and choose from one of our Stock Island vacation rentals.

Where is Stock Island, FL?

Nestled beside the ever-beckoning island of Key West, Stock Island is often referred to as "out of the way." But this community island is still easily accessible, being just two and a half miles from Key West International Airport. Driving down Highway 1 is also a possibility, but will take more time, as Miami is 156 miles northeast.

Things to Do on Stock Island

Well-known for some of the best eats you'll find during Key West vacations, Stock Island is bursting with authentic charm and a quiet, small-town feeling. Numerous marinas can be found close to our Stock Island vacation rentals, so you won't even need a car when you visit.

Take advantage of being surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and book a snorkeling or diving expedition at Stock Island Marina Village. Take a day to explore the waters at a slower pace by renting stand-up paddleboards and kayaks, or opt for some faster-paced excitement and head out on a deep-sea fishing trip. You might also wish to try your hand at sailing!

If you get island fever and feel the need to travel farther, Cuba is only 90 miles south and makes for an exciting day trip with Key West 'Cruise to Cuba' trips.

Dining on Stock Island

Although most of our rental homes have full kitchens, you won't want to miss out on the fresh seafood joints and chill bars around the area. Hogfish Bar and Grill, located at Safe Harbour Marina, is a favorite among locals and tourists. Sit back and take in incredible views while munching on fried hogfish and chips, or try the fried hogfish and tropical salad followed by tasty, homemade key lime pie.

Hurricane Joe's Car and Grill inside Hurricane Hole Marina is hopping with locals during happy hour, which can make for a fun evening learning about the area, making new friends, and dining on conch fritters and alligator bites.

If someone in the group isn't apt to seafood, try Rusty Anchor, which serves as juicy Gorilla Burger in addition to fresh seafood from its commercial fishing fleet. And don't miss out on authentic Cuban cuisine at El Mocho Restaurant or De Luna's while you're here.

Enjoy a private, relaxing getaway full of eating, catching, and swimming with sea creatures at one of our Stock Island vacation rentals in the sunny Florida Keys.
