About Tow
Attractions

If you're looking for a relaxing, laid-back place to embrace  the beauty of Texas Hill Country, Tow is just the place. From watching the sky change colors at sunrise while fishing on Lake Buchanan to watching the occasional visiting bald eagle, a stay in one of our Tow vacation rentals will be a unique experience you'll never forget.

Where is Tow, TX?

This small town sits right on Lake Buchanan in Central Texas, about 80 miles northwest of Austin and 18 miles from Llano. While many travelers head further south to places like Granite Shoals and Horseshoe Bay for the blue water and sandy beaches, Tow is perfect for getting away from the big resorts and immersing yourself in a country town with a bayou feel.

Things to Do in Tow, TX

No doubt, much of your time outside of your vacation rental will be spent enjoying Lake Buchanan. Head to Cedar Point Recreation Area to take advantage of the free boat launch and spend the day fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the 400 acres of shoreline. Don't have your own boat? No problem! Rent a kayak or boat from Sunset Boat Rental and paddle upriver to see incredible waterfalls from the flowing Colorado River.

After all that time playing outside, replenish hungry bellies at Papa D's Pizza and Subs or Rolling H Cafe. If you're looking for something a little fancier, visit the oldest winery in Hill Country, Fall Creek Vineyard, which features tours, tasting, and even picnic areas for sipping wine in the sunshine.

Day Trips from Tow, TX

Take a break from water activities and drive just 27 miles from your Tow vacation rental to take a guided tour through Longhorn Caverns. It takes about an hour and a half to weave through the cavern while listening to all the interesting historical and geological facts the guide will share. Snap photos of the amazing Crystal City and let the kids gawk at the mysteriously-created Queen's Watch Dog carving.

Llano is a bigger city only 18 miles southwest of Tow where you will find fun attractions like Bluebonnet Trail, a stunning trail surrounded by colorful wildflowers, Cowboy Fudge and Candy Shop (the perfect spot to let the kids pick out a souvenir or treat), and Leonard Grenwelge County Park, home of the Llano Earth Arts Festival.

Try something new and let your inner fisherman out during a stay at one of our Tow vacation rentals.
