Where is Spanish Valley, UT?

Located just nine miles south of adventure capital, Moab, in eastern Utah, Spanish Valley is the perfect spot to find a new adventure every day of your getaway. Gorgeous Canyonlands National Park is 30 miles northwest and stunning Arches National Park is a quick 10-mile drive up Highway 191. The glorious La Sal mountains are just 25 miles away, as well, offering another quiet getaway.

Natural Areas to Explore Near Spanish Valley, UT

Obviously, one of the main draws of our lovely vacation rentals in Spanish Valley is having two absolutely stunning National Parks close by to explore. The entrance to Arches National Park is just five miles north of Moab off Highway 191. With over 10 perfectly maintained trails, plenty of which are family-friendly, and absolutely awe-inspiring sights of enchanting red rock cliffs and stone arches to be seen, everyone is sure to have a grand time exploring!

To the west, the Colorado River cuts through one-of-a-kind Canyonlands National Park, creating a picturesque backdrop for hiking, biking, rock climbing, and more. For more amazing views of the river, head to Dead Horse Point State Park, where you'll get an elevated perspective not far from the comfort of your vacation home.

Fun Activities Near Spanish Valley, UT

With an incredibly warm climate year-round, water recreation is a must for cooling off. Ken's Lake, a man-made reservoir on the south side of town, is a great spot for kayaking, swimming, canoeing, and fishing. Before jumping into the refreshing lake, get in a heart-pumping hike to Faux Falls, a picturesque waterfall that spills into the lake. This trail is easy for all ages and even has a nice three-foot deep swimming hole at the base for a little dip before heading back.

Other activities in the area include 4x4 tours, skydiving, rock climbing, and touring the iconic Hole N"The Rock - a one-of-a-kind home built right into the canyon wall. Dinosaur lovers will find exciting remnants of the past on the Dinosaur Diamond Prehistoric Highway, which features various fossilized patches of dinosaur tracks. In the heart of this track, Moab Giants Dinosaur Museum brings them to life and kids will love the playground with a bone-filled dinosaur dig!
