Recent Gold Bar vacation rental reviews

My wife and I treated my mom to a birthday weekend getaway at Prospector’s Bend. The house itself was lovely. The interior decoration was well thought out, with large windows offering scenic views of the river and mountains. The hot tub was incredible, and we had so much fun looking up at the stars. There are a few reasons keeping this from a perfect 5-star review. First, the kitchen could have been better stocked. Second, the guest bed mattress was pretty cheap and uncomfortable (opposite of the king bed in the master, which was wonderful). Third, there was some deferred maintenance – broken or missing cabinets in the kitchen, loose patio step etc. There were signs that management was aware of these items and working on fixing, though it would be quicker to actually repair the items vs printing out a sign. This last piece didn’t affect my review but should be mentioned. On Saturday, we heard guns being fired in the distance over a several hour window. Having spent a few years of my early life in a more rural area, this wasn’t unusual to me, and I could tell the shooter wasn’t that close to the property. Around 11PM as I’m taking the dog out to go to the bathroom before bed, a team of 8 or so cops approach me, flashlights and guns drawn, accusing me of being the shooter. After getting frisked and explaining that we are on vacation, the cops shared that the neighbors called in reporting it was us. I notified management the next day, who seemed indifferent over dramatic event, and was more concerned that I saw neighbor’s walk their dog off-lease and relieve themselves on the property (which we picked up). Definitely started to get the vibe that the locals weren’t too happy that the house at the end of the street is a rental.

Upstairs is nice with 2 separate living rooms and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen is tight and does not have a dining table. TVs are very old. The local manager (Sean) was very unprofessional as he would not return my text or calls about not having internet. Will not rent properties in WA again if they are under Sean's management!! Beautiful views of the mountains and river. Sunset falls was a short hike away (be careful and do not get to close to the falls)

Took a long weekend for my birthday and we loved it. The view was beautiful and it was in a good location. The only thing I would complain about is that there isn’t AC but we loved it regardless.
