Beautiful cabin in the woods! Easy access off main road to Hood and Parkdale/hood River. Well stocked with all you need. Good Beds and linens! Room to spread out. Perfect for our 6 adults & 1 child.

We had a great weekend with friends skiing and hiking (in the snow) on Mt Hood. The house was great and we wished we could've stayed longer and had more people join us!

Loved this home. Secluded and peaceful but close enough to enjoy day trips to hood river, local orchards and wineries. The only downside at all was the jetted tub was not working and there was a note saying not to use in the breaker box. 1 of the reasons we rented this home was for the jetted tub. It still served as a nice warm bathtub though. We will definitely rent again.
We apologize for the broken tub; it is scheduled for inspection with a technician the first week of October. Thank you!

Perfect for a family get-away. The lodge was well appointed and clean. Would stay again.

This home is just perfect. Our family felt like we staying in our own home. The quality of bedding, towels, and kitchen stock was so appreciated. There is so much room for everyone to relax. It does have a steep driveway so be sure to have the proper vehicle.

Great log structure

This is a beautiful home, but the owners need to plow the 1/4 mile road and steep driveway when there is snow and ice. I understand from the neighbors that this is their responsibility. The listing does recommend 4wd, but even the house cleaner couldn't make it up the driveway in her 4wd. Luckily, a neighbor let us park in her driveway 2/3 of the way up. We are strong and had teenagers with us so we were able to hike in.
Owners need to invest in some basic maintenance as well. Breakers kept tripping whenever fireplace and TV were on at the same time - both upstairs and downstairs. Also, jets in main tub didn't work. Investing in a few reading lamps would be nice - only overhead lights available.
All of that aside, it's a cozy, beautiful home. Nice kitchen and great lay-out for cooking and dining.

We were in town for 4 nights for a family wedding. We had 7 people in our party staying at the house. All of us enjoyed our stay, loved the secluded location of the house. There was plenty of room for everyone, sleeping arrangements worked out, plenty of bath towels without having to do laundry. Kitchen was well stocked for entertaining with plenty of dishes, silverware and pots and pans. Directions to home were spot on. The guys enjoyed the pool table every night too!! Would definitely stay here again if we ever make it make to that part of the country and highly recommend this home to others.

Thanks for a nice place to spend with family.

Svendsen Lodge is like staying in a tree house. It's surrounded by fir tree. The deck is great for grilling and eating! Plenty of activities in the house to keep all ages occupied with games, food, pool table and multiple TVs. VERY QUIET woods! And the walls are thick so you don't hear others in the house.

Big, spacious, beautiful lodge home. Stayed here with 3 families (including 2 babies and 2 toddlers) and we had ample space. Great location - easy drive to Hood River, Little John Sno Park, and Cooper Spur. Would definitely return here!

Great lodge with plenty of room for a big family or group of friends.

This is a lovely home and we enjoyed our stay. It is easy to find but you will not be walking to any shops, restaurants etc. When they say the home is located on a steep hill they are not joking!

This was my first time renting a home for a family vacation. I was thrilled with the ease of the whole experience. The Svensden Lodge was just perfect for us and we felt so at home there.

Beautiful, spacious vacation home, full amenities, fun game room. Great location for exploring the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood. My family was very pleased with this rental, as it met and surpassed all our needs.

This is an amazing house and our group had a wonderful time. The drive is very steep and gravel, so know that going in and take it slow in a low gear. The big bedrooms are full of light. It's a great house to share with other people/couples/family because of all the bedrooms and the big dining room table. The "futons" in the description are actually more like pull-out cots hidden in black leather ottomans. Our friends reported they were, not surprisingly somewhat uncomfortable, but worked in a pinch, and we were happy to have the extra sleeping spaces. When you go: a fun game is to try to count all the bears in the house. They're everywhere (art/decorations/light switches, etc)

This was our family's first trip to Oregon and we could not have picked a better place to stay. The cabin was large enough that everyone had room to relax. It is very close to the fruit loop where we went daily for fresh produce. The scenery is absolutely breath taking. This will not be our last visit and we will request to stay in this cabin again.

We stayed at this beautiful lodge home over Easter. The home is absolutely beautiful as well as the whole Hood River area. We enjoyed the town, scenery, hiking and visiting Mount Hood Meadows and Timberline. What a treat. We would stay here again and plan to come back in the fall for the harvest.

Our family decided to switch it up this year and head to the mountain instead of the ocean for Spring Break...and I am SO glad we did! The Svendsen Lodge was PERFECT for our family! Because of it's close proximity to Meadows, we decided to purchase Spring passes for everyone...which was awesome. We could ski all day or sleep in and ski in the afternoon, without the pressure of having to "get our money's worth". We took the younger kids to Cooper Spur one day, where they enjoyed inner tubing for hours. Hood River was also a great day trip - amazing wine, beer, cider and food. For the last night of our stay we picked up pizza from the Saw Tooth Roadhouse down the road and it was delicious!
The house was super secluded and somewhat hard to find via GPS. The email that Vacasa sent with specific driving instructions was VERY helpful. The check in/out process was easy, the house was SUPER clean and spacious, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, knives, Tupperware and cookware (I'd suggest adding one big pot for larger groups), the pool table and huge TV's were awesome and access to Wifi was a bonus - especially for our family who enjoyed streaming March Madness all week! The jetted tub was great after a long day in the snow, the washer/dryer on the main floor was super convenient and the gas grill on the deck was perfect!
Our stay almost seemed too good to be true! We have and will continue to recommend Svendsen Lodge to our friends and relatives and my family will be back for sure!

This is a great house with a great location. I have stayed in a lot of rental houses and this is one of the best values I can remember. Everything is very clean and new and the kitchen has a ton of stuff. We could ski/board during the day and head to Hood River breweries at night. If you are looking for a place with good access to both Hood River and Mt Hood, this house should definitely be on your short list. I would definitely return and recommend it highly.

Your cabin was beautiful and just what we were looking for! We especially enjoyed the fire place and the pool table. Thank you so much for letting us rent your place! We look forward to renting it in the future!

This was our kids Christmas present, a weekend away to play in the snow. The kids a had a great time and all had their own space. There were plenty of dishes for cooking. The appliances were top notch! Overall a great experience! If you have small children bring toys!

I spent New Years weekend at the Svendsen Lodge with my family/friends and we had a terrific time! The house is beautiful with a large, open floor plan. Nice TV's, new appliances, and great amenities made for an absolutely wonderful and relaxing weekend. Would definitely stay here again!
