Two dog-friendly, deluxe, & secluded cabins w/jetted tubs & country porch!

Enjoy privacy and rustic charm in this lovely, dog-friendly vacation rental, offering two separate but adjacent cabins, a large country porch with rockers, and a quiet location. A light, unhosted breakfast is included in your stay.

This two-bedroom deluxe cabin is only three-and-a-half miles from the center of town. Just a short drive or bike ride away are a selection of restaurants, artisan and antique shops, art galleries, and wineries offering daily wine tastings.

With dual two-level suites and a large breezeway separating either side, this unique dogtrot-style cabin provides two couples with lots of privacy, and combines old-world Texas living with the perks of modern conveniences. The enormous front porch provides two separate seating areas, each stocked with rockers, tasteful decor, and creates a pleasant setting for vacationers to enjoy the fresh Texas air.

This listing includes both separate suites in the cabin, though they're each available to be rented separately if you desire - please see individual listings for Bear Cabin and Will's Cabin for more information.

The dogtrot breezeway serves as an ideal spot for the whole group to come together for dining each evening. A farm-style table, plenty of seating, ornate overhead lighting, and two decorative carpets keep this space cozy. This is a great place for entertaining at any time of day.

In the first suite, Bear Cabin, antique artwork and furnishings are found throughout. The living room has a wood-burning fireplace, comfy leather sofa, and a warm, inviting feel. Quiet reading, board games, and romantic nights beside the fire are encouraged.

Its large bathroom is rustic in design and luxurious in functionality. Contemporary fixtures, fine linens, and a large jetted tub with help you relax during your stay. Light some candles for an evening soak.

Similarly, the second suite, Will's Cabin, has a wood burning fireplace, a charming living room decorated in period antiques, oriental rugs, and comfortable furnishings. This room has a small table for two, perfect for candlelight meals.

This suite also boasts a full bathroom with a large jetted tub, and an authentic design and feel.

Each suite comes with an efficient kitchenette. Feel free to bring home local goods from the weekly farmers market - you'll have access to a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and sink.

Both bedrooms are unique with thoughtful detail. However, each includes a king bed triple-sheeted in fine linens, and topped with down comforters. Cable TV is provided in each room, and guests will have lots of storage, privacy, and comfort while staying in this inviting cabin getaway.

With two private living areas, two full bedrooms, and two bathrooms, this rustic Texas retreat serves as an ideal home base for four guests traveling together. Since each cabin has its own private entrance, living spaces, and bedroom, this listing is perfect for two couples traveling together who want to remain close but still maintain their own privacy.

This cozy cabin is dog-friendly, and vacationers are welcome to bring their small dogs (up to 25 pounds), for a small fee. Although this cabin is geared toward unplugging, cute bistros and coffee shops offering WiFi are only three miles away.

Here for my wife’s 50th bday with friends and we loved it. The views and breeze that comes from the valley between the cabins is absolutely stunning. You can probably see for 30 miles across. Surprised the view isn’t mentioned more in reviews? We didn’t want to leave the porch! We saw a young cougar, a ring tailed cat, a family of 6 skunks and of course, many deer. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and a short drive to downtown Fredericksburg. Only suggestions would be to trim the tree that overhangs the left cabin so it doesn’t brush the metal roof while trying to sleep and update the coffee maker with a keurig.

We loved the rustic charm. Our 2 little dogs didn'twant to leave.
Andrea our gracious host thought of everything. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Everything about this little cabin is perfect! The corner jetted bathtub is amazing. The entire area is quiet & beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a different experience than just staying in a hotel.

We loved the history behind the property. It was very relaxing to sit out on the front porch. It is a very quiet place to stay. There is no traffic noise. Great place to spend a quiet weekend.

The peace and quietness, the amazing view, and the cabin inside and out was beautiful. We so enjoyed our stay the owners keep it picturesque!
We will be back

Great location, wildlife viewing, and secluded from the hustle and bustle of the City.

We loved Tanglewood Farms! The cabins with their rustic charm and outdoor space were perfect for our family. We loved seeing all the deer and enjoying the beautiful view. The cabins had everything you need to make you comfortable. Definitely recommend!

We had a weekend without the kids. Had a blast, house is like walking 100 years back in time. Bed was very comfortable. Coffee on the porch watching the wildlife was a great start to each morning!

The cabins are in a beautiful setting. You feel as if you are far away from it all but you are still close to town.
Abel M. Mar 2020
Beautiful and clean! Will definitely come back.

Nice rustic cabin with great view.

We rented both cabins for two couples. Property was nice and we had a great time. Close enough to town to be able to do everything and still feel out in the country. Very nice and relaxing.
Would have been nice if property had internet available but we just used hotspots in town as a work around.
Would stay again.
Kenny M. Nov 2019
It is a beautiful place. Our only complaint would be that there was not enough hot water for a hot bath. It ran out before you could get hot water above the jets in the tub.
Sarah C. Oct 2019
We love this place. Not far from town. Quiet! Love all the natural beauty and morning visits from the deer and wildlife.

This home was SO nice! We were 2 couples and it worked out perfectly. Enjoyed all of the personal touches that made the stay feel very homey and comfortable. Sheets were so soft and amazing. No shower, but there’s a hand held in the very large spa tub so it was easy to take a bath and rinse. Loved the proximity to town but felt remote like we wanted. Beautiful neighborhood as well. Took a nice walk in the morning too. Views for miles! We both felt like this was a super relaxing time. Well done and thank you!

My daughters and I had a great weekend at Tanglewood Farms. It’s large enough to have a little privacy if you want to read or nap and small enough to feel cozy and comfortable.
Steve R. Dec 2018
Really well kept and clean. Sitting on the porch is a must watching the deer move through the property. Relaxing and quite at end of the subdivisions with little or no traffic. Close to town makes location convenient. My porty enjoyed herself playing with the owners dogs and chasing rabbits through the woods. We enjoyed ourself and will be coming back mid summer

We rented both cabins this weekend in celebrating my 40th bday with friends. Absolutely loved the property and the cabins were so fun and full of authentic Hill Country charm :) We’ll certainly be back!!! Best, Jon Smith Fort Worth, TX

Renting both “cabins” will allow for a private, quite get-a-way that is not to far from all the bustle of Fredericksburg’s shops, restaurants and winerys.
Elissa R. Oct 2018
We had two couples, so we rented out the entire property. It was perfect! Views were beautiful, cabin was so well put together and taken care of. No complaints here!
Debbie P. Sep 2018
We loved this property! Owners thought of everything!! Not sure how they got the deer to cooperate..... we watched them while having coffe on the porch😉.

We loved every moment at this sweet, cute 1880 cabin. We went for a girls trip and loved that we had patio to have breakfast and drinks on, but also had our own little areas to resort to. We met the Owner who was super sweet and accommodating! Would definitely go back!!

It was a great cabin and we didn’t want to leave. The property is beautiful and it’s very convenient to town. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mattress might have some years on it, we both slept in a hole. Other than that we loved it and can’t wait to visit again.
Brenda C. Nov 2017
Beautiful place. Would of loved an stand up shower but it worked. We had a great time. We would come back again
Edward N. Sep 2017
We stayed in Will's cabin. Very clean and had everything we needed. Great location away from from the city. We will go back again.
Ken D. Mar 2017
Very quaint, but worked well for two couples. Privacy, when you want it, and common areas for visiting. Great history and interesting architecture.
Colleen J. Feb 2017
We took our two dogs and at first we were a bit concerned being close to the road and no fence. The owner allowed her dog to lay with ours each day which was very nice and fun for the pooches. Super sweet owner.
Deborah P. Dec 2016
I was very pleased with the cabins and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Watching the deer and the turkeys run all over the area was really great.
