Good location. Property was secured well.
Andrew T. Jan 2023
The place was beautifully decorated, just as shown in the listing. It was comfortable, and had just about everything we could possibly need. The location was extremely easy to catch an Uber or Lyft from. I don't think we ever waited more than two or three minutes for a ride.
Nicholas A. Jan 2023
Loved the look an decor , but the shower needs to be cleaned better. Other then that pretty nice an we'll located.
Manager response:
Nicholas, thank you for providing us with this feedback, we are glad you enjoyed our lovely home. We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guests’ preferences as a means to continually improve. We look forward to hosting your next stay!

Great location, beautiful rental, comfy beds. Only thing I would've preferred is a parking spot closer to rental. We were a little uncomfortable leaving car a couple of houses up the street across from a nightly gathering spot, but... all worked out well.

It was very cute and the perfect stay out of the city hit also not a far drive from the city at all

If you are looking to pair the NOLA experience with accommodations that are PURE NOLA, then you won't find a more authentically appointed place than The Crab Shack. So fun!
Lindsey H. Nov 2022
Beautiful home! About a 20 minute ride to the French Quarter. The house was clean when we arrived with plenty of dishes and bath towels. The courtyard was nice and tidy also. We would definitely stay again!

What a beautiful and special carriage house for our New Orleans weekend. The owners have done an amazing job with the design and decor of this property. It was so comfortable eclectic and “cool”. Literally a few minutes to Tulane and much of the local area. We Uber’ed downtown for dinner and the parade so wouldn’t hesitate staying here even if you planned to hit downtown the warehouse district or Quarter. Good bedding and slept really well. Cute, private and secure as u enter as well. Loved this property. Clean and well kept plus great communication from Kayla and mgmt folks. Definitely recommend the Crab Shack.
Chelsea T. Oct 2022
Clean, beautiful decor and the owners were so nice and helpful! We bumped into them before going out and they were so nice and welcoming! Centrally located to the street cars! Very nice place to stay!!
Sharon E. Oct 2022
The decor was phenomenal. We had a long weekend and coming back felt like we were still having the NOLA experience. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and it was clean. The loft area was a great place to eat and relax while watching tv. The owners were very nice. We enjoyed the private patio/courtyard and parking was easy. Husband would give 17 stars but only 5 are available. We will definitely stay again.

This place is decorated to the nines! Every little detail has its own story! The bed is comfy, the rain shower head is just right, and the upstairs loft is perfect for provisions or watching television on the big screen. We love it and would definitely stay again!
Lee N. Sep 2022
The aesthetic of the Crab Shack was perfectly New Orleans & it was just cozy as could be! Slept like a baby every night we were there. We will be happy to stay there again on our next New Orleans getaway.
Tiffany D. Sep 2022
This place was so very cute! We enjoyed our stay. If it wasn’t for the banging and drilling that woke us up every morning I would’ve have maybe given this 5 stars. The bed was tough for me to sleep on with its firmness but my partner loved it. It was also very hott even though we kept the air conditioner on 67 most of the time, I still woke up sweaty almost every night. I LOVE that they provided us with a box fan, and the overall aesthetic was amazing.
Manager response:
Hi Tiffany, thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are glad you enjoyed our lovely home. We apologize for any noise disruptions you encountered due to neighboring businesses. We're happy that we could get these issues resolved during your stay. On the other hand, we understand that sleeping preferences vary widely, we are sorry to hear that the bed did not provide for a comfortable night of rest. Moving forward, we'll pass your comments regarding bed comfort onto our management team for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future.

This is the perfect place for a in New Orleans. We used Uber and had rides arranged within 5 minutes. The ride to the square was easy. The courtyard was quaint but just too hot to use in June. We enjoyed our stay so much.
Jose M. Jun 2022
Loved how the unit was exactly like pictures. Ac worked, patio was nice for eating outside. Slept perfectly each night. Had an iron, fridge, coffee machine, hair dryer, plates, silverware, toaster! U name it. Conveniently located to Walgreens, and a corner store. Stay was so perfect 10/10 would go back here. Trolley was walking distance and Uber's were cheap to the loud night life.

Everything about the room was wonderful. If there’s anything that I could’ve changed, it would be that the room was a little difficult to cool down. Not terrible and certainly tolerable. When I go back to New Orleans, I will definitely use this particular place again.
Amanda F. May 2022
We really wanted to make the most of our stay. Upon arrival at 6pm the ac was set at 81 degrees. There was 1 towel. At 6:45pm we messaged the property manager letting them know it was hot, and that we didnt have enough towels. After taking in a really fun and informative haunted carriage ride tour, we returned back around 12:30pm. We reached out to the property manager to let them know the until was still not cooling and we got a message back that
“ I apologize for the inconvenience, it will take a few hours for it to fully cool down to your desired temperature.” this was after 6 hours, not 3. That night my guests bed got soaked as the ac leaked all over her bed. We called and spoke to a property manager, when our text messages went unanswered. When we returned from being out, my guests bed was soaked, flipped on its side, and all of her belongings had been gathered up and moved. NOT COOL, it felt like a violation of privacy. We were overheated and needed to cool off. We waited 4 hours to hear back and before someone contacted us. We left, hoping to cool off. It was a terrible experience. We literally had to pack up and leave, there was no airflow in the unit in the middle of a heat wave, and we waited hours for communication in a very unsafe and potentially health hazard environment. There was ABSOLUTELY no concern for our well being or care extended and it was not the kind of Southern hospitality that we normally experienced in Nola.

Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Amanda. We apologize that your experience in our home was not the exceptional vacation that we strive to provide. We are sorry for this last-minute shift in plans as well as any personal touch you found lacking. We make every effort to host our guests as planned, and offer relocation services should any disruptions occur. We are glad to know the alternative home suited your needs and appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these unforeseen circumstances. We apologize that personal belonging had to be moved and want to note that was done to prevent damage from the leaking air conditioning unit. While we understand we can not change the experience your party had, we do hope the compensation you received alleviates some of the stress. We do hope for another opportunity to better impress you next time.

This is the cutest vacation rental. We needed to be close to Tulane and this hit the spot! I spent forever admiring the decor. The only issue we had was parking -- that is not unusual for NOLA so I would never hold it against this darling place. I would definitely stay here again.
Brandy C. Apr 2022
Loved the character and decor of the Crab Shack. It was so unique and really set the tone for our visit to NOLA. You can tell owners really took pride in creating this environment. Quick Uber to town - about 12 minutes or so. The only negatives were no ice/freezer and no instructions on operating the lighting. There are several lamps and light switches, but we weren't able to figure out how to turn the main overhead lighting on until the last day of trip :-/ Regardless, we totally loved this place and would definitely return. One of the most unique places we have ever stayed. Highly recommend!
Manager response:
Brandy, we are delighted that you enjoyed so many aspects of this eclectic two-level studio and appreciate you letting us know how we can improve. We are happy to report the light switches have since been labeled for an easier guest experience. We hope you’ll return to enjoy this improvement!

The Crabshack is the perfect place for a couple to stay while visiting New Orleans. It is cozy and comfortable and just downright beautiful. The owners took great care in design and decor. Everything in the description is accurate. You will love your stay!
Michelle W. Mar 2022
We absolutely loved our stay in the Crab Shack during Mardi Gras. We especially adored the authentic decor, barn doors, high ceilings, security of the space, and comfortable beds. Because we stayed for 5 nights, there were just a few little things that would have been helpful:

* Fridge with freezer (ice for cocktails)
* Hand soap and more TP
* Full sized coffee pot
* Hot plate
* Black out curtains

The home itself, is located in such a beautiful location, and walking distance to St. Charles street. This made getting around easy. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Cute place, comfortable furnishings, secure...

We loved our stay at The Crab Shack! The atmosphere was amazing and we thought the decor was fabulous. We would stay here again if the opportunity became available.
Darlene D. Jan 2022
Lovely place in a quiet neighborhood. Just a short walk to the St Charles line and all the Uptown restaurants. Short Uber to Mid-City and City Park.
Vicki S. Oct 2021
This place was exactly as described, very clean and loved the eclectic atmosphere. Location was kind of in the middle of everything and wasn’t a very long drive to get to different locations.
Nikki K. Sep 2021
There is nothing I didn't absolutely love about this property. It is dialed to perfection and really makes you feel like you are living the NOLA lifestyle. All of the basics are included, the unit was spotless and the design is spectacular. It is about a 15 min drive to the FQ but also an enjoyable streetcar ride to get there if you are looking to do a little sightseeing(5 min walk to the nearest stop). There's a corner store for easy access to last minute necessities and parking was easy. I would highly recommend this unit to any smaller group looking for a perfect lodging experience in NOLA.

This place was incredible! We absolutely loved our stay. Check in, check out was a breeze. Thank you for having us!
Marilyn R. Jun 2021
We throughly enjoyed our stay at The Crab Shack. The location is great, less than a block from the St. Charles streetcar line, which makes it very easy to get into the French Quarter without the hassle of finding parking down there. It was very clean, well taken care of & a beautiful place to stay!
David D. Jun 2021
The place is very well decorated - eclectic, open, great relaxing space. Nice bed and bedding. Great outdoor private courtyard space. Owners were wonderful and it is in a perfect location by the St. Charles street car! We loved it! Highly recommended.
