Our family spent a wonderful Spring Break at Rancho Mesa Escondida. The property was calming and serene with tons of fruit trees and the sound of birds. We swam in the amazing pool, went to the beach, and did a whale watching tour with Condor Express. The stay could not have been better, and we hope to visit again. First, we felt the listing and photos are very misleading. There is horrible noise from the 101 highway, the property sits right above the highway. There is a large crack in the main bedroom window sealed off with tape. One shower had peeling painted tiles. We received one towel per person and one beach towel. The house was for six, we only had five dinner plates and four dinner knives. A tree fell on our car because the grounds are very poorly maintained. I have photos of all of this. The Adobe Ranch house is stunning. Couldnt have asked for anything more. Amazing views, beautiful garden, warm pool, amazing avocado orchard and very comfy beds. 10/10. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Friends and I had a lovely stay at Rancho Mesa Escondido. The surrounding orchard was beautiful and views of both the mountains and the sea were gorgeous. Sitting in the backyard, soaking in the sunsets and sunrises was heavenly (swimming in the pool was an added bonus). The home and it’s rich history was warm and welcoming. We loved all that this wonderful home had to offer. I’d definitely love to stay again! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We had a great time and will return for future vacations. Two very small points: 1. you need to walk through one bedroom to get to the master bedroom unless you use the doors to the outside. (very easily done but something to be aware of. 2. With the windows open in the evening you could hear cars on the highway in the valley below. (again not a big deal and not an annoyance. Just an observation.
The kitchen, laundry room, internet, TV, bedding accommodations were all great. Make sure you meet the property owner. She is really nice and leaves within walking distance on the property. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

My husband and I were looking for a place we could go and have a bit of vacation that was an easy drive from our home. Carpenteria
And the Ranch provided us just that opportunity. The adobe home and surroundings are lovely. The pool is outstanding. The owners are delightful and generously shared some of the history of the Rancho which added to the uniqueness of the experience. There is a certain feeling of calm and beauty to this property. The history is so interesting. Pay to have the pool heated, you won’t regret it. Owner’s are lovely. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained, historic house on the cliffs above RIn Con. It`s easy to get to Carpinteria or SB or Ojai from there. Great place, plenty of space, well equipped kitchen...(and with a pool!). We would definitely rent it again. Great place for a very relaxing family getaway. If you have accessibility concerns, it`s all on one level, but the bathrooms are not everything they could be (no grab bars, for instance). This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

The house is a bit dated but is charming and quite comfortable, particularly for a party of 4. A party of 6 might find the house a bit small, with an unusual layout( you have to cross one bedroom to go to the master bedroom). The grounds are truly wonderful, with beautiful views on the ocean and the house is surrounded by a luxurious orchard. A bit noisy with the heavy traffic on route 101 just below. Beautiful rental. The only down-side is the proximity to the coastal highway, with its constant sounds of traffic. That should have been disclosed before we reserved and paid (the rather steep rental rate, given all the add-ons--a bit high for a property with traffic noise) Aside from that, it was terrific This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We had a wonderful stay at the ranch! The house has a ton of history and is well equipped with everything you need for a home away from home. The pool and pool area is excellent and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for a good 5 star meal. We hiked the avocado ranch and had fresh quacamole every night. Ranch was close to Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and Wine country. We would definitely stay again! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

The house was beautifully located on a hill with views of the ocean and close to a great surfing beach. Georgeous decor and comfortably furnished with everything you need for a home from home holiday. Great pool and kind hosts. Only negative was traffic noise but the rest made up for it . We couldn`t have picked a better spot for our spring break! Our host, Connie, was so gracious and welcoming -- even checked on us during our first night to see if we needed anything. The house is spacious and comfortable and boasts views of the Pacific and rolling hills -- absolutely stunning! We enjoyed exploring the citrus groves that line the property, and hiked down to the clearing where the picnic area was. What a treat to walk along the paths under the canopy of the avocado trees. My son and I just loved the pool, which was heated and overlooked the ocean. The location is perfect, just minutes away from Santa Barbara, and very close to the beach. Every aspect of our stay was perfect and we would definitely go again! Thank you, Connie and family, for hosting us and making us feel so welcomed! This place is absolutely charming in every way. Don’t bother to make other plans because you won’t want to leave once you are there. If you get the chance to meet Connie you are in for a real treat! This Ranch is so special.
The owners have gone above and beyond decorating with primitive furniture and goergeous rugs. Every corner of the house is thiughtful, a fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms.
The imediate yard is kept wonderully with roses and lavender bushes and heated pool that is perfect for the moody coastal weather. The surrounding citrus and avocado grove becomes this fairy tail canopy of green leaves, we got lost in it for hours taking pictures and listening to nature. They also have horese roaming at the top of the property!
Connie, the charming owner, came and checked on us the first day andgave us some house tips. They live up the hill by the horses and her son lives in a adiecent unit to the ranch house that only shares a wall with the house. It is a working ranch so you`ll see people around but no one compromising the privacy of the stay. The highway traffic becomes part of the ocaeans and winds white noise but is certainly present since the ranch is on the cliff overlooking the PCH. absolutely no complaints about the stay, we were in awe of the grounds and beautiful home. This place is amazing! The views are breathtaking and the air smells like a rose every morning! Very close to Santa Barbara but we mostly ended up drinking wine, eating cheese and floating in the pool overlooking the ocean. Don`t even get me started on the sunsets! We had a very nice time stay at this vacation rental . The only thing we didn`t remember being told up front if we were that there is family members that live attached to the home you are renting . They are very nice but was a little strange. Over all beautiful place . This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Our family had a terrific time! Huge property with avocados, oranges, variety fruits and veggies, herbs, beautiful roses and flowers. That`s just taking one step outside the back door. Beyond that are views of mountains and the ocean. Stunning! Marine layer and morning dew for nice brisk early walk through groves, sunny afternoons poolside, cool and starry in the evening. Huge master bedroom, no access to twin bed room through the house which could be issue for small children but my older sons loved their own `space`. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds, couches not very comfortable, kitchen small, quaint, had essentials we needed, iron, laundry room. Pool was great! Keep in mind this is an older home with add-ons which actually is part of its unique charm. Up on cliff with some freeway noise below but can`t hear it in house. Didn`t bother us, too busy enjoying the view and surroundings! We had an event in Santa Barbara so a bit of a freeway drive but worth it. Market and shops nearby. Main grocery store, coffee, pharmacy, strip mall stores and food only a few exits away. Biggest issue was tried to contact reservations company a couple times prior to stay and could not get proper responses. Overall very satisfied-loved it! Would go back, no question. Did I mention the view?.... This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
