Charming waterfront home w/ private hot tub & dock - space over garage

Explore the beauty of Flathead Lake with your friends and family from the comfort of this lovely vacation rental. In addition to a private dock and hot tub, you'll enjoy access to an extensive library and standard home comforts such as WiFi and a private washer/dryer. This listing also includes a separate space located above the two-car garage, so there's plenty of privacy for anyone who wants it.

Located right on the shore of Flathead Lake, less than a mile north and west of the small community of Big Arm, this home is perfect for a large group looking for a laid-back lake vacation. The closest grocery store is around 15 miles away in the city of Polson, so be sure to stock up on necessities before arriving. You'll also be 33 miles from the town of Hot Springs, which features the Symes Mineral Hot Springs. There are fruit trees on the property where you can pick fruit in season.

Inside, this vacation rental is warm and welcoming, with comfy furnishings and homey touches. There's plenty of room for the whole group to spread out or to spend some quality time together.

Stretch out on the couch in the living room and browse the cable channels, or choose a book to read from the extensive private library. Use the WiFi to keep your friends back home updated on your travels, or stream a movie to your personal device.

If you brought some work along with you, you'll enjoy the small office area, which includes a desk, an armchair with an ottoman, and a wood stove. Luxuriate in the warmth from the fire while you sip a warm beverage - even if you don't get any work done, you'll certainly feel relaxed!

Since there aren't many restaurants nearby (although there is a biking/walking path along the road to the Big Arm Grill), you'll likely be doing a lot of cooking when you stay here. The well-appointed kitchen makes it easy to put together a quick snack, a picnic lunch, or even a home-cooked dinner, while a dishwasher takes care of cleanup. The dining room table seats four.

The main house features two bedrooms and a sleeping porch. The master bedroom includes a California king-size bed, a large flatscreen TV, and an en suite bathroom, while the second bedroom features a twin-size bed. On the sleeping porch, you'll find a twin-size bed and a full-size futon.

The third bedroom can be found over the detached garage. Here there's a queen-size bed, as well as a full-size futon. This space also includes a table and chairs, a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a full bathroom.

Altogether, this home can accommodate up to 10 guests.

You'll find the hot tub outside on the deck. Additionally, a covered porch around the back of the house provides an excellent spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee.

Although there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from in the Flathead Lake area, the main draw is, of course, the lake. This vacation rental's private dock includes a hand-crank boat lift, making it easy to spend a lot of time on the water. Pack a picnic lunch and head out for a few hours of swimming, fishing, and boating. On the east side of the lake, you'll find many orchards that grow the region's famous Flathead Lake Cherries. There is even a Cherry Festival in nearby Polson. During cherry season, make sure to stop by a roadside stand to pick some up!

Glacier National Park is about 73 miles away for a day trip the whole family will remember! If you brought hiking boots, head to Wild Horse Island, which is only accessible by boat. A network of trails crisscross the island, which is noted for its wildlife viewing opportunities. Keep a lookout for bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles, and the wild horses for which the island is named.

Your group will love the opportunity to relax and unwind at this quiet lakeside getaway. Start planning your Flathead Lake vacation - book today!

Loved our stay here. We enjoyed nightly talks by the fire pit and soaking in the hot tub after swimming in the cool lake:).

We stayed a wonderful week at Skipping Rock Lakehouse, full of relaxation, quite time and lots of swimming. Very happy and didn't want to leave. Look forward to coming back for more stays.

We have rented a few cabins on Flathead Lake through the years. We always enjoy coming back to it. This location surprised me as I wasn't sure if we would like it. We did! We loved being able to see Chief Mountain, the highway, Wild Horse Island, and the surrounding mountains close by. The lake looks much smaller from this location, an illusion only. It was unfortunate that The Valley was quite smokey while we were here, so much so you couldn't see the Mission Mountains to the east.

We had a great stay at the skipping rock Lakehouse. The house was perfect for our group of 7 which included 3 kids and 2 grandparents. The lake was a lovely escape from the heat and the house was always nice and cool in the shade, even with temps in the 90's. We hope to come back for another visit.
