The place was very clean and very private. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. It was the perfect location for visiting the Biltmore, Chimney Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway and local breweries. Would definitely stay again!

Only disappointment was that we were really looking forward to having the inside fireplace only to get the email the day before saying it cannot be used. We were able to enjoy the outside firepit but some nights were too windy and cold for it to be comfortable. Otherwise pretty avg cabin, friendly owners

This was romantic getaway for two. It was great. The sulfur smell in the water did not slow us down. Plenty of freshwater in a provided cooler in the kitchen. Great Hot tub, porch and view. Very close to Asheville attractions. We would stay again!!!

We had a lovely month-long stay in the Night Owl cabin. Our hosts were attentive and helpful as we navigated winter storms and replenishing items (we were there for an entire month!) We couldn`t recommend more this cabin for families and friends who are looking for a cozy getaway. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

My husband and I stayed for a little 4 day getaway. The cabin is quite charming and cozy. The pics on the site don’t capture the charm. It’s very nicely decorated and secluded just enough to feel like we were the only ones for miles. This is an updated old cabin so keep that in mind as there are some things lacking that you might get at a brand new luxury cabin. However it’s still an amazing place and it feels so authentic. I highly recommend this place and we will stay here again! Also, the rental company is very quick to respond by text. I couldn’t figure out how to work the heaters the first night, and they answered my right away and helped me troubleshoot to get them working. One thing I did find funny was the VRBO site says there are 80 inch TVs in all the rooms. That’s huge and would be like 6’8” lol! Well the TVs are more like 60 inches, and are still very nice. A little tip, the tv in the living room is on a swivel and can be turned to face out the window on the porch so we could watch it while we were in the hot tub! That’s was pretty cool. I will say this, I would not recommend if you have any mobility issues as the stairs are narrow and steep and getting into the tub to shower could be difficult for someone that’s not very balanced or agile. All in all, this place is awesome and authentic. It’s in a private and peaceful setting surrounded by trees. It’s 15 minutes to downtown Asheville so you get the feel of being in the mountain country but have quick access to the city and there are two grocery stores and a couple restaurants within a couple miles as well as a brewery. Starting with the positive, the cabin itself with its natural surroundings was charming. However, the cabin was not clean when we arrived and you could tell that the cabin lacked proper upkeep (cobwebs inside of cabin, unkept yard and porch, malfunctioning lights, filthy barbecue...get the point?). This cabin has great potential but it’s upkeep leaves much to be desired.
When we arrived the cabin was dirty, we were literally walking in to someone else’s dirt (dirty kitchen, dirty bathrooms-hair in shower, slept in beds, linens in washing machine, knife on bed etc)...totally unacceptable especially during a covid pandemic. We wanted to leave and go somewhere else but we were told our money would not be refunded (walking away as soon as we entered the mess in the cabin would have been justified). Instead we were made to wait for housekeeping to arrive and clean the house in our presence. While we waited for housekeeping to come we had to pull out our own disinfectant wipes in order to clean around the common areas. When we called we were unable to speak directly with the person making these decision (ie manager) but instead communicated through a representative. We were refunded the cleaning fee, but given all the aggravation and inconvenience this situation caused I believe TurnKey did the least they could do to correct their error but not the best they could do. I work with people everyday and when we make an error we not only correct the error but compensate people for the aggravation and inconvenience that our error caused them. Loved the seclusion of this cabin while also being 15min from downtown Asheville and other local attractions! Exactly what we were looking for, and was exactly as described. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

The cabin was in beautiful condition and extremely clean. Everything was there that we needed. The sulfur smell in the water was noticeable but if you ran the water for a while it seemed to dissipate a little. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to return! When we arrived at our rental cabin it was way past late and we were all so tired. The road explanations were well explained but with it being so late and us being tired we drove right by the house and down the hill into an open field. We had no idea where we were. We found the place when we turned around and my bf spotted something reflecting off the moonlight. I wish there were the outside lights turned on when we arrived so we were able to see it and it put our minds at ease. The cabin was GORGEOUS. Very clean, LOVE THE KITCHEN! I wish there were blinds in the downstairs area just to ease the minds and have the privacy. We did sleep with a kitchen knife by the bed the first night because we were so skeptical of it but after the first night and we were able to see the house and explore the next morning, we were fine. The only bad thing I have to say about this place, is that the hot tub isn’t included in the original price. There was a per night use expense of the hot tub so we decided to pass on that :(. Our dogs loved it and they loved the lightening bugs that was everywhere. Top notch place and now that we know some details about this house, we will be sure to come back. The cabin was a dream come true . love the seclusion. . I did noticed the heating elements couldn`t keep up but i was there in 19 degrees weather and im from Fl so i was freezing . and as much as the hot tube was my favorite part it was hard to operate it was finicky and I couldn`t get it to shut off lights or jets. Was a beautiful property and was exactly what I wanted This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

I really enjoyed my honeymoon here. Be advised, the driveway is steep (like most things in this area) I was in a hatchback. Probably no problem for SUV or a 4x4. House was very nice. Very secluded. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Clawfoot tub is nice. Not so great for a shower. Overall, very happy with my stay. Electronic lock batteries were dead at arrival. Turnkey had a backup plan for access, and resolved the issue the next day. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed your listing, although there were a few issues during our stay. I did not appreciate the insufficient responses that I received from the Turnkey rentals team, which to me seemed like a bot was replying to my concerns. Other than this the home was clean for the most part, other than the pullout sofa which had crumbs in it. I would normally not care at all since this is a minor inconvenice, but after paying more for the cleaning than the stay I was disappointed (especially since the description on Airbnb read that this home was cleaned thoroughly due to COVID 19.) If you’re considering a stay in this private, clean cabin, do yourself a favor and reserve it now. Just be aware of a few slight “quirks”. First, the positives:
-Feels private with a downward, curving, gravel drive, but you can get to most of Asheville and Black Mountain within 15-20 minutes, plus a couple of grocery stores about 5 minutes away (in nearby Fairview — don’t get confused by the Fletcher address and DON’T trust your GPS).
-The cabin has a cute, cozy, rustic feel but with an updated kitchen and bathrooms (1.5).
-Hot tub on the private back porch and a fire pit behind it.
-Nice beds and a relatively comfy sleeper sofa.
As for the “quirks”, just be aware that the well water has a strong sulfur smell (there was a large water cooler provided for drinking), the wooden floors upstairs creak loudly (a problem if your guests go to sleep or wake up at different times), you must walk through one bedroom to get to the other, and most importantly, the shower was not built for larger folks. If you’re over 6’ tall, this isn’t the shower for you (low ceiling plus a claw-foot tub).
Those minor issues aside, I loved the character of this place and would gladly rent it again for the price we were given. It’s cute, comfortable, and at the time of this review, well-priced. Email communication from the management company was specific and sufficient. Cabin was spotless, although I believe it was brand-new on the market when we stayed. Enjoy!
