We had a great weekend getaway at this rental home. What you see in the photos is what you get, and more! The owners had several snack baskets in the house which was a nice welcoming touch. The home has its original retro-style charm. It is dated, but that is kind of the fun part about it... might be dated but it is super clean and charming. There is even a working 8-track upstairs which my dad was thrilled about. The description of the home talks about how you can't drink the water; we brought bottled water and gallon jugs of water for cooking, only to get there and see they had a dispensable water filtered system so we really didn't need to pack our own!
Only criticism is that you are in such close proximity to the other houses along the beach, so you feel a little bit like you stick out like a sore thumb as the "vacation renters" in this residential area.... we were aware of the location and the proximity of other homes ahead of time thanks to all the photos, so not a big deal, but the feel of it is definitely like you are "the renters" in the neighborhood. Just something to be aware of. The home shares a stairway to the beach with the neighboring house (which is probably pretty typical in this area). Parking is super tight but totally doable with two vehicles, as the property description says. The nice neighbor gal came out and instructed my husband on how to park his large truck in order to allow our second vehicle to fit. The weather was not great for our weekend here, but we did this as a last minute end-of-the-summer trip, so that's just something out of our control! We still enjoyed the lake view and sitting out on the deck. If it had been hot, I'm not sure if we would swim off the dock as there are lots of plants visible in the water below the dock. Again - not a huge deal especially for those who plan to bring a boat anyway. We had 5 adults and our infant and there was plenty of space and privacy for all of us, with the 3 separate bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. Overall, we had a great stay and would totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a beachfront getaway at a reasonable price!

Loved the private beach and the cool, retro feel of the lower level. Excellent DVD and VHS selection; the prefect way to wind down after a day in the sun and on the water. My kids loved the snack baskets...what a nice surprise!
Would stay again.

Nice place on the lake. Great location. This is more of a heads up for those staying in future. 4 out of 5 stars. August 2019. We’d stay again.

Fyi Harrison area Marina is closed for 2019 Season. Conklin is closest.

The place is dated but in great shape inside which worked well for us. Clean and well-maintained interior.  The dock is in great shape and we had a 25 ft wake boat in it with absolutely no issues. Plenty deep to turn and such. Fully stocked with random treats, grill works great, freezer full of ice and so on. Clean beds, linens and two working fans. The mattresses are older, heavy and firm to say the least. If you are particular about the bed you sleep on you may want to bring an extra layer for cushion.

There is no AC in the cabin. House has two fans. We brought three extra fans and it was 90 plus each day and we had no issues even with kids and naps but it was probably 80 plus in house in the heat of the day.  We opened it up late at night and closed in the AM. Lower level stays very cool. Nice shower in lower level and washer/dryer works well.

I went back and forth with numerous agents after booking from the rental office for this property. Always answered quickly but each time I had a question they just cut and pasted the property description in the email from the VRBO site. I finally called one and they said that they would have to get a local agent to call me to answer my questions about the property. The 4th agent called and was able to answer some of my questions.

Parking. More of an inconvenience really. The property listing says two spots. When my wife arrived with the minivan it was tight just for her car to get in and the Toyota Sienna is not a large vehicle. Two cars would have never made it at all. Although during the week cars came and went.  The local agent told us parking was super tight. We dropped the boat in at Conklin Marina and parked the truck and trailer in the overflow lot ($10). It’s about a 5 min boat ride to property. Boat launch is small at Conklin. Walk down to it and look it over first. There isn’t a lot of room for error once you get committed. The boat launch at Spokane point is good too but your leaving truck and trailers if you have one at your own risk. The parking there is posted for no parking in some spots and the rental property has no options for trailer or truck parking. Conklin Marina is the best option I think in the area for launching and designated parking.

The upper deck has a railing. It has safety fencing in between the rails which is nice but the lake facing railing is weak and rocks back and forth about 2-4 inches. I have a two and four year old so keep an eye out for that if you have kids. It looks like it’s been worked on randomly.  Also large rugs cover the deck flooring and loose boards are underneath. They occasional pop up if you step on them.

The steps from the lower level of the property to the beach and docks has loosely secured steps every few steps. Some are completely broken. Watch your step especially with little kids because they shift a few inches as you place weight on them.
Manager response:
Hi, Greg! The owner is taking your concerns seriously and already had planned on upgrading repairs on the deck and stairs to beach, plus more. He also is understanding of the parking issue and tries to take care to park his own vehicles aside when he is at his own lake cabin next door to this unit. He will have some wider and clearer parking set for next season. Thank you!
