A portion of the Selby Knoll main house is now open for your stay. Set in a majestic private forest on a gentle knoll overlooking the south end of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this esthetic home provides a serene, natural experience just few miles from of all the recreation Harrison and greater North Idaho have to offer. This simple, tasteful retreat is nestled deep in a conservation easement owned by the original homestead family off a quiet, county-maintained gravel road.
Your portion of the main house was designed for privacy from the adjacent guest house. The great room of lets the towering forest view come into through carefully arraigned windows and skylights. Stepping outside brings you to a landscaped pond area and decks dappled in sun and shade throughout the day, great for bird watching and occasional game sighting, dining, reading, or just plain lounging. An acre of ‘park- like’ towering forest glen off the dining area and bedroom to the south is for you exclusively, with a path leading to a satellite deck with filtered views up and down Lake Coeur d’Alene. Encounters on the property with white-tailed deer are common, plus moose, elk, and black bear sightings from time to time.
Influenced by the Prairie-Style, your home is simple and functional, with natural stone trim from the property and granite kitchen countertops and furnished with an uncluttered Asian-influenced esthetic reflecting the owners’ many years overseas in the Far East. The large great room has the core of a Javanese house architecturally incorporated, separated by custom stone work from the adjacent gourmet kitchen and spacious dining area. Completing the main floor is a spacious bedroom with a queen bed and tasteful bathroom with private forest views.
At the end of our road few miles to the south, lies Idaho Fish and Game's Round Lake Sportsman Access. A few miles to the north on a scenic lakeside drive is Harrison, with a marina, general store, dining, antiques, a premier ice cream parlor, plus comprehensive aquatic and cycle rentals, all on the portal to the incredible Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Farther afield is all the four-season wonderland of North Idaho has to offer with its lakes, rivers, National Forests, and world-class bike trails and parks.
