Ocean view house with balcony, gas grill, free WiFi, & easy beach access

**Please note this Vacation Home is located in the tsunami evacuation zone.

This three-bedroom, three-bathroom, Haena house sits right in the middle of the most spectacular five-mile stretch of ocean in all of Hawaii - Kauai's north shore. The house sits less than 250 feet from the ocean's edge, and a few minutes’ walk will bring you to Makua (Tunnels) Beach, one of the best snorkeling and swimming beaches in Kauai, and perhaps the most beautiful beach in all of Hawaii. Ke'e Beach, equally stunning, is a two-mile drive from the house, as is Lumahai Beach.

The home is modern, fully furnished with all your vacation needs, and provides 1,600 square feet of comfortable living - large enough for a family, yet cozy enough for a romantic getaway. The master bedroom has a king size bed, one of the guest bedrooms has a queen-sized bed, while the third bedroom has a pair of twin beds. Two huge outdoor lanais help to bring the dramatic surroundings right into the home and a fully stocked and open kitchen makes the home feel very open and spacious -- just an additional perk!

Hear the ocean waves, feel those breezy trade winds, and catch a glimpse of the ocean from the huge outdoor lanai. View dramatic Mt. Manoa and its waterfalls from the other large lanai. Swim with the sea turtles at Ke'e Beach or lounge at Lumahai Beach. The beaches in front of the house are also well-known for their variety of seashells. A 15-minute drive takes you to Hanalei, where you can enjoy fine dining, rent beach gear, and more.

The house is located between the mile eight and mile nine markers and sits at the end of a small cul-de-sac. The house faces the ocean and is well off the road and away from any road noise. The start of the Kalalau Trail and the Na Pali Coast are two miles down at the end of the road, near Ke’e Beach. This area of Kauai is truly a spectacular place to vacation, well away from the noise of the city, in an almost entirely undeveloped area of Hawaii.

Stayed with family of five. Plenty of space to spread out and very comfortable. Easy drive to Haena park (need to reserve in advance). Walk to tunnels beach is about 10 minutes. Porch is great for relaxing.

And yes, the roosters start at 3:30 am. My teenagers slept right through it but if you are a light sleeper, it might be a concern. It's worth it for the great location though.

If you love the beach or are a surfer, this is the perfect spot for you and your family! A lovely open home with a beautiful master with two accompanying bedrooms provide a place to relax after a day in the sun. It is so convenient to be in the middle of the various beach options and yet close to the town of Hanalei or Princeville. The team goes out of their way to make sure everything is as you need it.

A truly fantastic house with ample space and a perfect location.

Our second time renting this home. Great location, walk to Tunnels Beach, private deck, a slice of ocean view. Nice layout with comfortable furnishings. We will be back!

Beautiful property, perfect place for making lifelong memories. We had a great time nestled away north shore. Perfect if you like to surf. Can’t wait to come back.

The home was very nice, clean and well stocked.
The balcony was perfect for eating meals and you can see the ocean from it. The view of the mountains is also stunning! We traveled with young children so the garden was a great place for
them to explore. The outdoor shower was nice to to rinse off after being at the beach. I would go back and stay again tomorrow if we could. Highly recommend.

Our visit was wonderful. The house was everything we expected making our visit comfortable and enjoyable. Be forewarned with the island inundated with free running chickens, the roosters crow at very unwelcome times! Due to no AC (though temps were comfortable) we could not close the windows. Earplugs recommended for better sleep!

Beautiful house in great location. Hop, skip and a jump from one of the best beach in Kauai- incredible snorkeling! Enjoyed the passing rain storms on the lanai with a glass of wine.

Our adult children joined us at this wonderful Tunnels Beach home to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We loved the home. The washing machine and dishwasher were broken, which made it a challenge, but Vacasa staff communicated these problems in advance, so we knew to bring extra clothes and understood the problems. We’d definitely come back for our next trip.

We love this house... the location is perfect on the best beach on the island! Three bedrooms and 3 baths are so nice, and a wonderful lanai with a view of the ocean!!

Beautiful inside & out, perfect for our group of two couples & two teens. Woke to roosters crowing, walked to uncrowded snorkeling & sunbathing & swimming beach, cooked every meal @ house & ate on lanai with bird friends, hiked at Ha'ena State Park, napped! If you want to explore all of Kauai, probably not the rental for you because of road closures and one lane bridges. For us, it was Hawaiian heaven.

Totally private, walk to the beach, cradled in the arms of natures tropical magic! We cannot wait to come back! So beautifully appointed with every detail attended to with thoughtfulness and warmth! Thank you to the team at Vacasa for making our state so memorable!

We spent a fantastic week at this house! Beach access, a wonderful kitchen, and a large lanai are but a few highlights.

Past the small quaint town of Hanalei, over several one-lane bridges and at the end of a small cul-de-sac, a dirt driveway takes you to the second story home. The property is surrounded by tall tropical vegetation that provides privacy for the yard and lanai. The kitchen is large and fully stocked (with even a knife sharpener). We cooked nearly every night. Out the door, down the stairs, past the outdoor shower a couple minute walk has you at a stunning beach. The beach is lightly trafficked and spacious. Swimming, snorkeling, wildlife (turtles & seals), reading and relaxing; we didn't find a better beach in our adventures on Kauai.

A couple miles to the West is Ha'ena State Park where the Kalalau trail offers an opportunity to hike along the beautiful and tropical Na pali coast (look into access & parking prior to your trip as it does fill up quickly). As for fresh food, Hanalei was a great surprise. Local markets (Tues & Sat) offered a wide variety of fresh produce, the Dolphin had fresh local fish, and a medium sized grocery store had everything else!

Communication with Gigi was easy and made this trip simple and fun. We would love to stay here again!

We stayed at this house eight years ago and were excited to come back. Kitchen and one bathroom were remodeled since then and really made a positive difference. Always amazingly clean when we arrive and the amenities are almost everything you could need. The four minute walk to the best snorkeling ever through a "jungle path" makes for a added fun experience. When we discovered that one of the portable fans was out, we had a replacement the same day. A couple of things prevented a five star rating: Portable A/C units would have been nice in all bedrooms instead of just one. We had a power outage for a few hours during our stay from a storm and there were no candles or matches to light them. A transistor radio would have been helpful to listen to reports about power restoration and bridge closures from the rain. That said, we will definitely be back to the Haena Place House again.

A very magical place! The master bedroom suite was comfortable with breezes that would flow over you to help you sleep with the sounds ocean and rain adding to the lullaby. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook and opened up to the dining and living room space. The lanai was huge and we spent a lot of time out their reading. The outdoor shower had warm water making it easy to wash off sand before entering the house. Great place to stay within a couple of minutes to the beach and great snorkeling.

Amazing location and great home

Stunning, clean, organized, has everything you need. Steps from Tunnels. Wonderful for a family! Will be back for sure.
Marian M. Jul 2019
We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful house, surrounded by tropical vegetation and steps from a beautiful beach. The house is nicely remodeled, hardwood floors throughout and bathrooms. We spent a lot of time cooking, the kitchen is really well appointed for that! The local staff is extremely attentive and helpful. Kerry installed some extra portable air conditioning units for our stay, and Janell, the local manager, gave us a ride to Hanalei on Sunday morning, as there was no road access due to bridge reconstruction after the 2018 floods. She made sure that our stay went over smoothly and made us feel really well taken care of. We will be back!

Tunnels beach is a snorkeling paradise. If that is what you are in to, this is your place. You can be out on the water at sunrise and have the whole reef to yourself. Hanalei is a long very little town that still feels like a beach town. If you are in to resort vacations, I wouldn’t rent it but if you want to get away, live in the jungle and snorkel every day, you’ll love it!
If it had central AC, it would be completely perfect.

Simply fantastic. Exceeded expectations.

What a beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed house. This house was a perfect homebase for our week-long vacation on the Garden Island. Thank you so much to the owners for making your home available.
