Here on the west side of tranquil Orcas Island, you'll be a quick eight-mile drive from the ferry terminal, and 10 miles southwest of the island's main town of Eastsound - home to a lovely grocery store, Hogstone's Wood Oven, Brown Bear Baking, and other local treasures. Be sure to take a hike from the Turtleback Mountain Trailhead (two miles northeast), book a kayaking excursion out of Deer Harbor, and spend at least a day in the quiet landscapes of Moran State Park (14 miles east).
