I loved staying here with my dog. The art garden is very cute and the window looks out on to greenery. The backyard is enclosed so it was nice to let my dog out in the yard.

The only reason I gave this spot 4 stars instead of 5 is for 2 reasons:
1) The place smelled very musty when I arrived, though living in it and airing it out made the must smell go away.
2) The kitchen supplies need an upgrade. There is one small pan covered in flaking off teflon, which is extremely unsafe and dangerous to use and needs to be thrown out. There were no other pans to use so luckily I had a friend on the island who could give me one to borrow. They were also missing a large pot for pasta and a colander.

Other than that, I would recommend staying here and would stay again.
Manager response:
Samantha, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We will be sure to pass your suggestions along to our local manager who will work with our homeowner to make necessary upgrades. We look forward to hosting you again!

Surrounded by forests.
It smelled musty as we walked in, fortunately we were carrying a fan in the trunk.
Very minimal kitchen equipment.
Clean.
Overpriced in comparison to other rentals in San Juan islands.
Manager response:
Hi, Lucia! Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We did discover a leak under the bathroom sink that we believe was causing the musty odor. This has been addressed. We hope to see you again!

Lovely, quiet studio in the forest amid sculptures, conveniently located near the ferry. Blissfully cool on hot summer days with a helpful host and sweet pup.

Secluded location, very close to ferry terminal, lovely dog, friendly owner, convenient parking.

Nice, peaceful location near the ferry terminal. Owner is nice and keeps to himself, but is there to answer questions or make suggestions on things to do. If you're looking for a quiet place in the woods away from the noise, this is a great spot. It's outfitted well and works great for 1-2 people.

My pup, Milo, and I absolutely loved our weekend getaway here! The large garden is full of amazing sculptures and is fully fenced. Todd and his dog Mick were incredibly welcoming (I even got my car stuck nearby when my GPS lied to me, and Todd pulled me out. You can't beat that kind of hospitality!!).

The studio is in a great location- close to the ferry landing, but tucked away in a secluded, serene woodland. Milo and I can't wait to go back sometime!

Every inch of this studio has been crafted with care. The woodwork and art in and around the studio are incredible.
Very close to the ferry. Also, Ciderworks and the Orcas hotel cafe are close and delicious.

Bonus: It was nice to be able to give some love to the owner's dog so we didn't miss our pups as much. :)

Wonderful, cozy studio in the woods. It was cool, even on a hot day. The host was helpful and the place was lovely.

The studio was out of the way, and very quiet. Lovely spot to take a walk through sculptures and fruit trees.
Small studio is suitable for a couple. Kitchen are for cooking your own food, or a few minute drive to restaurants.

Great stay at this little cottage. Just enough room and amenities to be comfortable and cozy. We appreciated not having cell signal, but wifi when needed.
And so many books to peruse through! We loved the addition of the sculptures in the yard and being surrounded by trees and lots of bird sounds to greet us throughout the day.
Great location-- close to a few places for food/necessities, the ferry terminal, and several natural/park points of interest. We took a full afternoon to tour the entire island, which was very scenic with farms and mountains as the primary backdrop with peeks of the water here and there. We visited during a full moon and it was lovely--all of the stars were out! A cozy reprieve that we'd be more than happy to visit again sometime.
*If you are looking for posh and state of the art amenities, this is not the place. If you are looking for a creative space to relax, write, read, and go somewhat off-grid, this is the space for you. Peaceful and minimal. We loved it!

It was a calm studio, good for the weekend.

Great for couple or quiet family of three. Loved the cozy studio and beautiful grounds. Has pretty much everything you need including kitchenette with stove and small toaster oven. Lovely window lounge/bed and plenty of options to cozy up with a book or board game. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only thing we didn’t quite understand was that the carport is a a few hundred feet away outside the gate, so if you have a lot of items or limited ability to carry items, that is good to know ahead of time. All in all very nice stay!

From a decent cooking set-up, to comfy bed, to towels, this spot provided a great place to rest my head for two nights with my mutt. Location is cool - on an artist's property with sculptures all over. Great option close to the ferry (2.5 mi) if staying near Orcas Village is your destination :)

This studio in the woods is a very nice set up to explore both sides of Orcas Island with ease. Artistic living space and reading nook. So peaceful and quiet - sunny reading areas on the property all day long and lots to explore that stimulates the eye and senses. Felt very home right away with 7 min ride to grocery store - Village Store and back road to Eastside. Space for bikes and shelter for car. Hugs bonus - very nice Neigbor and loving dog Mick. We had the best time!
