This cottage - part of the charming Deer Harbor Inn - is perfectly outfitted for hikers, kayakers, anglers, and whale-watchers alike, providing you with a gas fireplace, a hot tub private to the cottage, and two porches. On the grounds of the Inn, you'll also find lovely community amenities that include a picnic area with a grill, a horseshoe pit, and a deck.

The five-acre Deer Harbor Inn is located on the quiet, west side of Orcas Island, a quick and scenic eight-mile drive from the island's ferry terminal (which can easily connect you to Anacortes, Friday Harbor, Lopez Island, and Shaw Island). When you're not observing the local deer, rabbits, and bald eagles, you'll be able to easily walk to the on-site Deer Harbor Restaurant, a public beach, a variety of trails, a kayak park, and the Deer Harbor Marina (half a mile south) if you're looking to get out on the water for the day. A great grocery store and an assortment of eateries - including Brown Bear Baking and Hogstone's Wood Oven - await in downtown Eastsound (10 miles northeast), with gorgeous Moran State Park, Cascade Lake, and Mt. Constitution only four miles beyond.

A nice cottage in a good location! But the kitchenette took some getting used to. My wife and I joked how great it would be if the cottage had 25 more square feet for a legitimate built-in mini kitchen. The hot tub was wonderful. Proximity to the BBQ restaurant was also welcome, especially with two kids in tow. Overall a relaxing place to stay. Four stars instead of five b/c of the kitchenette.

I took the 6:30 PM to Orcas Island, But when I arrived at the Deer Harbor Resort, about 8:30 PM, there was no one around, the lights were off at unit #2. I had trouble gaining entrance via the lock box, because there were no lights on. I finally figured out, using the combination given to me, but it was a struggle!

We enjoyed our stay - very nice and clean. When we left we responded to your text to let housekeeping know we had left. It would be nice if you would reciprocate by giving us a text when housekeeping finishes the cleaning instead of having us wait till 4PM to enter. We arrived at 3:30 and everything looked inviting and clean so we moved in.

Coffee making was rough but we made it only one restaurant open nearby that was delicious at Island Pie had a nice time

Great place, clean, beautiful grounds, nice hot tub. But the 2nd day we were there they had to oil the road / driveway, and it smelled bad, and got our car all oily and dirty. They should have done this when no one was staying at the cottages. Or should have closed down the whole place for a day or two.

My small family and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin was fully stocked and the hot tub on the rear deck was and exceptional amenity. We loved the location of the property and would definitely consider staying there again.

We enjoyed the openness and fireplace. Hot water needs to be turned up. The mini-kitchen worked when using the grill.
