A very nice property - well maintained - the only problem is that the master bedroom desperately needs a new mattress. Significant sag in the matress. The other is bedroom better as a kids bedroom given the size of the twin/cot like beds. No other issues.
Wifi was very good.
We appreciate your feedback and will let our local staff know about the mattress. We know that each person has a mattress preference, but we want to make sure said mattress is in good shape!
This newly built townhome within the Mauna Lani complex boasts a peaceful setting, generous proportions, all amenities and is pleasingly decorated in light and bright island style, a perfect base for enjoying the best of the Big Island.
Amazing location, beautiful home and very peaceful. Vacasa Hawaii obviously takes great care for their homes and the staff was so helpful. Whenever we had questions they were there for us within minutes. We will be back!
Location, views of the golf course from both lanais, it’s newer, private beach access, quiet and friendly neighbours, spacious fitness center and pools
Super quiet subdivision. This unit was clearly furnished by a designer with excellent taste. Conveniently close to everything that we wanted to do.
We arrived in Mauna Lani on the Big Island right before Hurricane Lane and had several amazing days. The house was immaculate, the views spectacular, and the whole home felt like a 5-star luxury getaway. We traveled with two kids and the house offered the perfect amount of space for family time and privacy.
The real test came when Hurricane Lane touched down in Hilo and the Vacasa team set to work. Heidi and Danny, both amazing people, came by to check on us, see if there was anything we needed and gave us their direct contact information if anything came up.
We wound up being delayed another three-and-a-half days, and the Vacasa team worked with us to make sure all the changes went smoothly. If the scale for the rating system was out of 100, this would have definitely been a 100.
I cannot thank each Vacasa Hawaii team member enough for keeping my family safe, happy, and secure during our stay.
Honestly, simply the best.
Decent condo with nice decorations, but for the price and what you get for it we would stay somewhere else next time. A cheaper condo in Waikoloa would be a better value and another island would be better given the impacts of the eruption.
Guests at this condo should be aware that there are dogs on both units on either side of this one. The dogs were fine except some minor barking and one would run loose up to the condo. Not a problem unless you are afraid of dogs. There were also rats (one ate part of our tire in the garage!) and cockaroaches. Rat and cockaroach traps were out in force so they are working on it. This is a problem that we also experienced at several other Mauna Lani locations. There were also a lot of goats throughout the resort. They even came up and ate the landscaping around our unit. They seemed harmless though.
Unfortunately the ‘private’ beach club was also not very private unless you consider sharing a small beach with 150+ people at the same time private. And don’t believe the hype about that area of the island not being impacted by the eruption either. We could barely see land across the bay due to the vog (volcanic smog). We all had daily headaches from the vog as well. I can’t imagine it is safe to breath it in all day.
Vacasa’s service and late checkout were great, although we wish we didn’t have to pay for the late checkout. The apartment did have the basics, but this was very limited. There was no soap or shampoo for the shower that we are used to in other vacation rentals. Kitchen supplies were ok but also lacking somewhat. We had to run the dish washer often to have enough plates for a meal.
We appreciate these comments and are sorry to see the stay was not perfect. The owner is constantly working on pest control, and we have added more plates in the kitchen. Thank you!
The house is well equipped with everything you need, from kitchen utensils to towels to beach equipment. We stayed for one week and cooked every night at the house. Foodland is nearby. Questions to the rental agency was quickly answered. The resort is pretty quiet. I often had the gym all to myself. The pools are not crowded. Overall, very happy stay.
Our stay at Kulalani #1004 could not have been better! The place is located in a serene setting with a view of the golf course where you can watch the wild goats grazing on the greens and watch and listen to the tropical birds sing. We enjoyed access to the Beach Club, and the relative proximity to Hapuna Beach and Waikoloa Village. The townhouse is just as the pictures depict, except it feels even bigger because of the high ceilings. We can't wait to return!
We stayed in Kulalani 1004 for 3 weeks and found the home very quiet and well-appointed. The lanais are extremely hot until late afternoon, so an umbrella or preferably some type of bamboo shade/awning would be a huge help. The main pool area was extremely noisy and didn't have enough chaises, plus the pool was dirty most of the time. The adult pool area was better, but as we had family with children in another unit we had to use the family pool most of the time.
