Vacasa Introduces Interior Design Program

New design service offerings optimize revenue for homeowners and multifamily developers

PORTLAND, Ore., April 25, 2019 — Vacasa, North America’s largest vacation rental company, today announced the launch of Vacasa Interior Design. Fueled by proven interior design principles, industry-leading technology and local talent across the U.S., the Interior Design program helps vacation homeowners and multifamily developers increase financial returns on their properties. In its pilot stage, the program has maximized rental occupancy by an average of 12 percent, with some homeowners experiencing a revenue boost of more than 20 percent.

The Interior Design team leverages more than 20 years of combined professional design experience to expertly style vacation homes and urban rentals managed by Vacasa. Individuals who own one or more vacation rentals in Vacasa’s growing U.S. portfolio can select one of the program’s three packages, all of which include consultation with a Vacasa design expert:

  • Guided Design: Two design boards, two weeks of design strategy and customized staging tips and tricks
  • Curated Design: Design boards for each focus room, up to three weeks of design strategy, purchasing items, coordination of shipping and storage, assembly and staging for an added fee
  • Full-Furnish Design: Conceptual design blueprint, three weeks of design strategy, purchasing items, coordination of shipping and storage, and installation of items for an added fee

"My family and I always considered our vacation home in Sunriver to be special, but we struggled to find the right decor for the space and furniture that would last," said Ellen Bragdon, a Vacasa homeowner based in Portland, Oregon. "The Interior Design team came up with a plan that met all of our needs, and they kept us in the loop every step of the way. I felt like I was one of the homeowners on a reality home design show who are speechless when they see the big reveal. Since then, we've experienced an increase in positive guest reviews and our home is booking more in the off-season."

The Interior Design team also works directly with property developers to customize the look and feel of multifamily units, from concept creation to sourcing, ordering, delivery, installation and photography.

“Vacation rental design principles are significantly different than those utilized to revamp primary residences, since the objective is to boost bookings and enhance the guest experience,” said Kimberly White, senior director of design services at Vacasa. “Vacasa’s expansion into design services was a natural development for the company’s full-service business model, and today, Vacasa is the only property management company that offers interior design expertise at this scale.”
