VACASA CONTENT GUIDELINES

Guest Reviews
We encourage guests to provide thoughtful feedback about their stays, not only to celebrate the guest experiences, but to provide hosts and others with meaningful insights. We value your honest feedback, even if it’s less favorable, as long as it reflects your valid and authentic experience. We will not remove reviews simply because they express concerns, as those reviews help identify areas for host improvements and ensure transparency for future guests.
All content that you submit with your reviews, such as written text, images, videos, audio files, and other media, including any content generated or edited using AI, must comply with these Vacasa Content Guidelines (the “Guidelines”). The Guidelines are part of our broader policies and terms, including our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which provide the terms on which you grant us a license to use any content you submit.
Moderating Guest Reviews
We moderate reviews submitted by guests to identify content that does not comply with these Guidelines. In some instances, we may use automation tools to evaluate reviews. Any reviews that do not comply with these Guidelines will not be published on our site or through our apps. When we reject reviews, we inform the author by email.
How We Evaluate Reviews
When you submit content to us with your review, it should be appropriate for a broad and diverse audience. We will reject or remove any review that doesn't meet the following criteria.
- You must have completed a stay at a property booked through our platform and you must submit your review within ninety (90) days after checking out.
- You cannot review a property that you own, manage, or are otherwise associated with.
- Your review must relate to a real experience. If requested, you must provide us with satisfactory evidence for this.
- If a review is determined to be fake or was provided fraudulently, we will remove it.
- Reviews should not be offensive, unlawful or contain any “Prohibited Content” as set out below.
- Reviews cannot promote or involve unlawful activities, including violence, exploitation, fraud, or violations of law.
- Reviews cannot include details that uniquely identify a Vacasa or host employee, such as their names or other distinctive information.
- Reviews cannot include personal information about individuals, such as last names, phone numbers, email addresses, social media profiles, and specific location.
- Reviews must be clear and helpful. We will not post and may remove reviews that contain confusing content that makes it challenging for prospective guests to understand the review.
We will never remove a review simply because it contains negative comments.
Prohibited Content
We do not allow content that is misleading, harmful, demeaning or offensive on our site or apps. Content you submit cannot include the following Prohibited Content.
- Any advertising for third-party services or products.
- False and defamatory content.
- Content that infringes another party’s intellectual property rights or content that you do not have the legal right to publish.
- Content, including profile descriptions, that direct users to third-party websites.
- Obscene, profane, pornographic, explicit, demeaning or otherwise objectionable content.
- Images of or information about children, or any third parties, without their consent or, where applicable, the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- #hashtags, HTML tags, URLs, or social media handles.
In all instances, we may decide which content is appropriate for our site and on our apps. We can choose not to publish or to remove any content that does not comply with these Guidelines or for any reason we deem reasonably appropriate.
Host Responses
We allow host property owners and managers the opportunity to respond to your reviews, subject to the host’s compliance with these Guidelines. We do not enable direct contact between hosts and reviewers.
Where a host genuinely believes that a review does not meet these Guidelines and may be misleading, for example, when a review was falsely submitted to us, the host may contact Customer Service and ask us to remove the review. We may also consider requests by hosts to remove reviews when there has been a substantial change to the property, such as a major remodel.
Content Provided by Hosts
Content posted on our site and our apps by hosts related to the host’s listings or otherwise, including any written text, images, videos, audio recordings or other media, as well as content created by generative AI and provided by hosts or their agents, must comply with these Guidelines. Host content cannot include any of the following content.
- Company logos, links, or company names, included for the purpose of advertising a separate business or other commercial entity unrelated to the host listing.
- Spam, unwanted contact, or content that is shared repeatedly in a disruptive manner.
- Sexually explicit material (including nudity, sexual activity, or sexually explicit language).
- Material that is graphic, threatening, demeaning, insulting or harassing.
- Content that redirects guests in the booking flow to another website, an email address, a phone number, or a social media account to book outside of our platform.
- Content that promotes violence or illegal or harmful activity.
- Materials that demean or dehumanize individuals, including hate speech and symbols.
- Impersonates another person, account, or entity, including representatives of Vacasa or Casago.
- Unapproved URLs, links, #hashtags, or social media handles.
- Generative AI that misleads, misrepresents, or misconstrues any aspect of the host listing.
- Uses the platform for commercial activities unrelated to stays at host properties.
Host content is helpful for guests when it is clear, genuine, and unique. All host content and communications on our site and our apps must:
- Be related to the host’s property listing.
- Provide guests with accurate listing information, including listing type.
- Honestly reflect the current state of the host property.
- Respect all individuals’ reasonable expectations of privacy and comply with data privacy laws.
- Display images, information, or similar content about others only with their consent (including the consent of a parent or legal guardian in the case of children under 18 years of age).
- Only offer promotions, discounts, or fee information through our platform.
- Respect trademark usage, copyright protections, and other relevant intellectual property laws.
We may delete or reject any host content that does not comply with these Guidelines, Vacasa’s Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, or any other Vacasa or Casago terms and conditions or policies.
Reporting Violations
If you believe that content posted on our site or on our apps may infringe someone’s intellectual property rights or otherwise violates these Guidelines, please contact Legal@Vacasa.com
