Creekfront cabin on 2.5 wooded acres, near state parks and national forest land!
This Georgia retreat has it all! Listen to Wildcat Creek babbling right nearby, relax on the screened porch with a glass of lemonade, or explore some of this property's two-and-a-half wooded acres. Appealing to families and lovers of the great outdoors (Chattahoochee National Forest borders the property), this Clarkesville cabin is sure to please.
Up to eight guests will love staying here, far from the hustle and bustle but surrounded by plenty things to do. If you're up for some fishing, you don't need to step more than a few paces from your door for trout in the creek, (but please note that a fishing license and separate trout license required). If you travel a bit further down West Wildcat Road, you'll see many waterfalls along the way, and just a half-mile from the cabin is Sliding Rock, a favorite local spot in the summer. You'll also be just a mile-and-a-half from beautiful Lake Burton with its freshwater fishing and boat rentals and docks.
Back home, bring your catch of the day to the grill on the lower deck, or put the well-stocked full kitchen and its gas stove to work. You can dine in the fresh air out on the porch, or in the warmth and comfort of this cabin's contemporary interior. The wood-burning fireplace will keep you toasty during your stay and free WiFi, cable TV, and a DVD player will keep the whole group entertained. And for a fun change of pace, head to the lower-level game room for air hockey or darts.
Plan a trip to remember at this waterfront cabin right by the rushing waters of Wildcat Creek. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

We came to camp and none of the roads were opened, Catnip was setting there calling our name. We have been going for 30 plus years to camp and will probably spend the next 30 plus years at the Catnip instead! Clean, plenty of room and affordable!

Our stay in Catnip II was short, but very nice. Living room/kitchen open concept is very large. Fireplace, TV, and awesome large table. Kitchen is very well equipped. Sponges, paper towels, towels, oven mitts, utensils, corkscrews, dishwasher tablets, and dish washing liquid. Upstairs bathroom is large with it's double sink. Blow dryer and towels provided. Knob in shower was a little confusing, but I finally got hot water. 2 bedrooms upstairs are very nice. I stayed in the Bear room. Bed is very comfortable. I like firm!! There is a TV in that room. My friend stayed in the other upstairs bedroom. He said king size bed was a little mushy. There is no TV and there are no shades on the windows, so he had to undo the pulled back curtains. No biggie though. Washer and dryer upstairs. There was no one else with us, so we did not really use downstairs. It was very cold downstairs, even though there is a vent and the heater was on. Game room is awesome though with a huge big screen TV, foosball table, and tons of board games. My friend did take his baths downstairs in the tub. Upstairs is just a standing shower. The screened in porch located off the kitchen/dining area is awesome. We didn't get to really use it because it was about 40 degrees. But would be nice when warmer. A propane fire pit would have been nice to have.
The house is located on a beautiful stream. From what we could read, it is also located on the entrance to the Chattahooche National Forest. We didn't have enough time to venture and check it out though.
It is close to Unicoi and about 40 minutes to Toccoa and Tallulah Falls. Closest places that we could find to buy groceries was on Hwy 441 on the way to Tallulah.
Only things I would suggest is more channels on TV. I am not familiar with Dish, but we couldn't find anything to watch. This could have been user error though. The other thing is some sort of coat rack or hooks at the front door. We had big heavy coats and there was nowhere to hang them. We used the stair banister to drape them over.
Thanks for sharing Catnip II with us and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely see if it is available.

This place is just as advertised, clean, comfortable and a stream in the back. We had a very relaxing time, loved using the fireplace. Thanks for letting us stay at your place.

This was such a nice get away. The pictures does not give it justice. We didn’t even want to leave and do our plans. Definitely going to come back.

Great little cabin by a beautiful creek! We had family in from 2 states for a wedding and this was perfect to go home to after all the festivities and rest a bit.

We stayed in a perfect cabin on a small stream situated close to a lake with a fish hatchery for fishing and a marina with boat rentals and an indoor/outdoor restaurant... A large screened in porch overlooked Wildcat creek. A symphony of sounds from rushing water over rocks and from the wings of mysterious critters calling for a mate, romantic no! Ok, we don't know what the critters were up to but they made their presence known... The cabin is set up perfectly for a family with kids. Large upstairs for cooking and eating and watching tv. The porch directly off the kitchen area... Downstairs you will find a dry atmosphere from the dehumidifier and plenty of room for playing air hockey and board games. A deck off the lower level with a grill and steps to the stream... Perfect for a rainy day which we had a few! Great overall Value.
I highly recommend the cabin to anybody that needs room to relax enjoy the sounds of nature....

The cabin was very close to sliding rock and was very nice on the inside. We will definitely be staying again.

Our family usually camps for a week at Moccasin Creek, but my husband and I needed a place for a short weekend visit. This place was perfect due to the fact that it's located on Wildcat Creek! Bring plenty of groceries because there is no need to leave. Everything you need is there. We are already talking about going back.

You couldn't ask for a better location-with a trout stream behind the cabin & the National Forest across the road. Comfortable inside & out with the kitchen hardware supplied but the software (cooking oil & spices etc.) you'll need to bring. Hiking & fishing were our main activities while the highlight each evening at sunset was being serenaded by a whip-poor-will.

This was the most peaceful way to disconnect from the hectic schedule we have. Our kids absolutely loved the game space and we enjoyed the scenic views from the house. We had so much fun. Already planning our next trip!!

We enjoyed hiking and playing in the creek directly behind the cabin. The screened patio was perfect for getting fresh air while it was raining! We are already planning a Summer trip back to the Catnip II!
