Beautiful home with lots of space. Great value! A chef's kitchen stocked with useful tools. Beach access and great views from the patio roof! I could go on and on...

As first timers in Belize, we did not know what to expect. We rented a car and drove from Belize City, so we were able to see a lot of the country on our way down to Placencia. We took the main roads, and it was a long, but safe trip. When we arrived at Casa Nettuno (a couple hours prior to check in ), the grounds keeper, quickly met us and took us on a tour of the house. Soon we realized we had a little piece of paradise all to ourselves for an entire week. The house is very private - and there are no close neighbors that you'll see while on the premises (outside of Ignacio, who lives in a separate house on the property). In front, is a very pristine beach and beautiful grounds, and in the back is the main road that leads you to downtown Placencia. The house had everything we needed for our stay, such as towels, beach chairs and cushions, kitchen utensils, etc. We took a quick trip to the grocery store in town and got everything we needed, such as coffee, bread, cereal, pasta, beer, wine. We went out for dinner or lunch, but usually stayed in for one meal a day - just to hang out and relax on the the beach or the balcony with an amazing view and breeze. Overall, it was a terrific experience. My husband and I and our two teenage girls enjoyed a week of laid back R&R. Things to note: if you are looking for a private home and serene setting, this is the place for you. Our family loves a good adventure, and we enjoyed the country, the setting, the available activities (Monkey River Tour and snorkeling, the fruit & vegetable stands sold by locals, the super casual dinners on the beach and more). But it's not like staying at a resort, with lots of tourists and every amenity under the sun. You might have to deal with an ant or a gecko in the house - and learn how to work the windows to make the most of the evening breeze. It's a home in a tropical country where there's a big mix of old and new, a lot of undeveloped land and poverty - but also a lot of culture and friendly people. We appreciated all of it and enjoyed experiencing something new. We would recommend this rental if you're looking for a comfortable getaway in a great location in the south of Belize.

We stayed at Casa Nettuno for 8 nights in March 2019. The home is beautiful, well-appointed, and the caretaker and housekeeper were very good. The beach condition was unpredictable - some days beautiful, clean and clear; others with deep Sangrasso weed, others no weed but silty or brownish water. But that's true of that entire area and might be time dependant. The best part of that house is the patio on the roof. Beautiful views and sunsets and the perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail before dinner. We loved our stay there.

a very clean home and grounds. The house was great. The beach area was cleaned every day. We had total privacy and the beach to ourselves. A short bike ride to the village. Lots of great food and fun.

This place is big and beautiful! We had 4 adults (2 couples) and it was more than enough for our needs. The HUGE fully stocked kitchen was awesome for the times we didn't want to go into town. Each bedroom has its own little AC unit but really the coastal breeze was enough if you opened the windows. The outdoor shower is a must! We all used it multiple times. Placencia Village is about a 10 minute golf cart ride away, close enough to not make it cumbersome to get into town for food or entertainment. The caretaker and housekeeper were great and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

Casa Nettuno has been a dream! Amazing, we loved the kitchen and beach. Staff of two were perfect. Proximity to village, perfect! Definitely would stay again! Day trip sailing and snorkelling was the best! Birds, black squirrels and waves all wonderful! And sunsets! Thank you for sharing your remarkable slice of paradise.

This was our first trip to Belize. We travelled from Rhode Island, USA. It was well worth the time spent to get here, two planes an 3.5 hour van ride. Casa Nettuno is amazing. The owner of this Casa put a lot of love into the design of it and the people and culture of the community are amazing The beachfront is beautiful. The rooftop is my favourite spot for evening. We saw the most beautiful star filled sky on Tuesday night. We visited the Maya ruins and we cave tubed. Jen and Ignacio were great. A very fun, relaxing, too short vacation.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to discover such a special place. Here everything is beautiful. Charm is at work. The sun, the sea inspire you to calm and rest… Thanks to Ignacio and Jennifer for their kindness, their great availability and amiability.

A perfect setup for the barefoot beach lifestyle. Saved my sanity!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Nettuno. The house is nicely decorated, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and the most incredible chef's kitchen with everything you need. It should be noted that while this property does not advertise as a beachfront location we had no problem enjoying the water and the sandy beach! Finally, while we did not need any assistance during our stay, Ignacio and Jenny (the caretaker staff) are very pleasant and available if needed!

We stayed at Casa Nettuno for a week with another couple and we couldn't have been
happier with the place. The building itself is stunning. It's huge for a two bed place and
the master bedroom is palatial. The view from the bed is exactly what you'd want from a
Caribbean villa (that is, you can see the ocean without getting up) and there is a
wonderful constant breeze in from the ocean meaning we didn't have to use the air con
once during our stay. The outdoor shower was a revelation, despite sharing with the
some local frogs... The second bedroom (on the ground floor) is less opulent but we
didn't get any complaints, it also has an en-suite and is almost as spacious as upstairs.
The main living space and kitchen are in-fitting with the rest of the building, in particular if
you're into cooking, this place will be ideal. If you're not into cooking, don't fret, speak to
Jennifer and she will happily cook for you. And I do mean happily, she's one of the
friendliest people we've met on our travels. She's also an incredible cook. Ignacio looks
after the house itself, he was less in evidence than Jennifer but was more than happy to
assist when we got too drunk to open the gate one night. The house and grounds are
also kept in immaculate condition by both the staff. Location wise, this one suited us well
too. We hired a golf cart as walking into town isn't really an option and biking in the
middle of the day is frankly too much like hard work. The cart was speed limited to stop
the tourists causing carnage and combined with the speed bumps meant that it takes
around 10 - 15 minutes to get into town. The novelty of having to wait for the aeroplanes
to complete their takeoff at the airstrip never wore off though and were happy that we
picked somewhere off the beaten path. If you're trying to find Casa Nettuno from the
airstrip, be aware that the Poseidon Drive sign seems to have gone missing but all you
need to know is, north from the strip, second right after The Flying Pig Sports Bar (we
highly recommend you stop by and have a couple of beers with Patrick whilst you're on
it). The house is signposted well once you've turned off. Placencia village itself is just
about the right size, there are plenty of really good quality restaurants to keep you
occupied and there is a large supermarket just before you hit the village. We wish we
could have spent more time in this wonderful place and can't recommend Casa Nettuno
highly enough.

We got back last night from our week in Belize. We had a lovely time in Placencia! We
drove down from Belize City and arrived at Casa Nettuno, after a 3.5 hour drive. Ignacio
was there to greet us and show us the house and provide the keys. We ate dinner that
first night at Wendy's in the village and loved our meal! Other places that we ate dinner
at included Rumfish y vino, Habanero's in Robert's Grove resort (very tasty mexican
dinner), the Cozy Corner (we also had a great beachside breakfast there one morning!)
Jennifer cooked chicken and beans and rice for our dinner one night. The last night
there, we made our own dinner w/ fresh caught fish that day from John and Chris's
fishing trip. Some great lunches that we had were at Dawn's Grill and Go (really liked
that place, and we met the owner Dawn who was lovely!), and another great lunch at
Sweet Mama's in Robert's Grove resort, which was delicious. We ate lunch at DeTatch
one day which was just so-so. We probably would not recommend DeTatch. Brenda's
place at the dock was bustling and she provided us with fresh-from-the-oven,
homemade macaroons, and lunch more than one day. John the Baker Man also
provided us with yummy baked treats (cinnamon rolls and coconut tarts), as did the
Above Grounds Coffee Shop (I loved the fresh juice blend for breakfast at Above
Ground and the fresh breakfast doughnuts and muffins we had there!) We did a day of
snorkeling through Splash, out to Gladden Spit to try to spot some whale sharks (they
eluded us that day!) The sea was a bit choppy for snorkeling, but the lunch served
onboard and the boat crew were all wonderful. We had a nice time swimming and
relaxing in between snorkeling. Not sure it was really worth the price of $200 per person,
especially since we did not see any whale sharks and did not see a really big variety of
fish while snorkeling. In truth, both my son and I got a bit seasick. My husband really
enjoyed his time on the water. Another day we did a Monkey River tour set up by
Robert's Grove that was actually a lot of fun for us. We enjoyed talking with our
guide,Terry, who lives in the Monkey River village and we loved the simple but delicious
lunch served at the village restaurant. We loved the walk in the rainforest and saw
MANY howler monkeys while on the hike. The price for the tour seemed like a real
bargain for the amount of enjoyment we got out of it. We loved the house and its beach.
Ignacio and Jennifer were both wonderful. We will come back!

Casa Nettuno was amazing! I stayed there with my wife, son and mother for one week.
We all had a great time. We loved the beach and seclusion the property offered. The
views were amazing and I can't wait to go back. The home and staff surpassed my
expectations. Thank you Katie, Ignacio and Jenny.
