Everything was great and exceeded our expectations.

This place was perfect for our adult group. The home is well appointed and cozy. A perfect place for entertaining. They even have a cake stand! There is a blender. Kitchen has minimal essentials

This home has excellent connectivity. We streamed Netflix and workouts without issue. It's a smart home to certain degree. You can sync audio for music via Pandora or Spotify. I suggest having your tech savviest person handle the tech pad. Please note the heat is in the foyer, not managed on the tech pad.

The wood stove is a bit tricky to get going but is heaven once you do. Get your best boy/girl scout to read the instructions and try their best. It's quirky. The place is stocked with firewood. You will need to cut your own kindling. There is no newspaper or other fire starter.

There is not a separate recycling bin. When you go to the garbage facility at the end of your stay it is not single sort - cardboard is it's own thing. There is no compost.

Hot tub is fab. Be sure to read instructions.

The welcome book exists but is not complete and a bit cobbled together. It has much more information than on this listing. There is an Amazon Echo speaker. There is a speaker on the porch and at the hot tub. We were unable to get the speaker to work at the hot tub.

There is a boot heater/dryer in the lower level. Was a nice perk although we did question if it was really working.

This is a ski in/ski out. Be sure to map it out as it's quite a jaunt to get back home at the end of the day- especially if you are at the main base on the other side of the mountain. Parking at Madison Basin is a breeze as well and saves a bit of time at end of day if that is your wish.

The Moonlight Club was closed due to Covid. We do hope to return to take advantage of this during another visit.

It would be helpful if Vacasa could update the listing with more details, and regarding Moonlight Club status as it's nearly spring.

A great property!

Really a 4.5. Kitchen was unbelievably stocked well for cooking in, which was our plan. Perfect 3 bedroom 3 bath set up for 6. 3rd bedroom does have bunk beds and a pull out, so definitely designed for families. Hot tub was ready to use and it was emptied and cleaned as we were packing up. Only down side was we would like a packet of information about working: tvs, lights, fireplace, skiing in and skiing out, and other little things about the house. Would highly recommend this place!!
Manager response:
Hi, Elizabeth! Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. Guest suggestions are always considered and provided to our local manager to make necessary upgrades for future guests' pleasures and comforts. We hope you'll give us another chance to host your next stay!

The cabin is exactly as described and my family enjoyed the stay. The only things that I missed are a pot for tea (I am not a coffee drinker, got the say there are 2 coffee machines) and a real blanket. We stayed in September 2020, it snowed at 31F and thin throws were not enough to keep us warm at night. We layered up, it worked, but I couldn’t help but think of a fluffy/warm blanket.

Family of 5, perfect place! Very modern cozy finishes! The decor was perfect! Great hot tub, beds are super comfortable and living space perfect. Great afternoon sunlight to sit on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous view! We will be back!!!

House was amazing - had everything we needed for the weekend.

Our family stayed here for 5 nights. It is a beautiful home in a amazing development. In the description we were told we could use the amenities the HOA provided like the lake, kayaks, paddle boards, gym and pool. When we arrived we were not allowed to due to COVID. This was a big disappointment. The manager gave us credit to use amenities at Big Sky Resort so that was helpful. It seems like it is not managed very well because there was not a welcome packet to inform us on things like activities in the area, where to put the trash, extra toilet paper and cleaning tools for the kitchen. Besides this it is a great place to stay at a reasonable price.

We are huge house renters, particularly for ski trips. We have come to expect things to be worn, broken, sometimes dirty due to age and wear and tear. Nothing horrible, but just not amazing. This house was AMAZING, It's clean, it's well equipped (they have one of everything you need and not 20 broken versions lying around). The layout is perfect, everything works, shines and inspires. We sat by the fire wondering if we could build this house at home in Virginia. It was perfect and we would love to rent it again. We've been home now for several days and I'm trying to figure out how they managed to get all the details so right. Thank you!

We found Cabin #9 to be exactly what we expected. The home was perfect for five of us, plenty of space for everyone. We stayed for 6 nights and found very little we didn't enjoy about this home. The electronics were more than acceptable, appliances and kitchen were all current and nice assortment of cooking utensils. Beds were comfortable but we would have liked a heavier comforter, little light for turning down the heat at night. A few suggestions that would improve the experience, better instructions for the Hot Tub, somewhere to store trash or instructions that we missed, grill LP bottle was empty and instructions on how to disable the auto locking deadbolt. Definitely a place to recommend and we will likely stay again.

We really enjoyed the cabin. Great amenities, beautiful furnishings, and walking distance to the lift.
Casey B. Feb 2020
We fell in love with Big Sky on this trip and the Lake Cabin was the perfect introduction to the area.
The cabin was well equipped with furnishings, entertainment, and kitchen wares. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was a hit with our children.
The cabin is ski in/ski out in winter as advertised as you can put your skis on in the front parking area and ski down the road to the lift. You can do the same on your return back to the cabin skiing from the lift, down the road, to the cabin.
The cabin is also directly across from the ice skating rink, tubing hill, and yurt for activities.
We had a wonderful stay and hope to stay again next President's week!

Very nice house in a great location

THE layout and well appointed home. The smart home system was problematic...
Wood for fireplace was provided, but not starter wood, paper or matches. That was annoying as how can travelers bring that. Water on second floor NOT QUITE HOT. Great enough accommodations for 6 of us....2 couples and 2 other friends
meeting for skiing
Manager response:
Hi, Ronni! We do wish you had called so we could have assisted you. We would have happily brought out kindling and checked the water heater for you. Upon inspection, it is working correctly. Thank you for staying with us!

Lots of space and close to Madison Village.

Quality of the house was great. The home was clean, and nice bedding. Vacasa service was a 10!

Beautiful cabin! Clean, well appointed. One of the best supplied kitchens I have seen.
Elisabet S. Apr 2019
We loved this place! It’s beautiful, comfortable and well appointed, with easy access to the slopes at Big Sky.
Dustin O. Mar 2019
Very well put together home and a great location.
Jeff S. Feb 2019
This place is incredible. The decor/amenities were all top notch...props to the owners. It was just my wife, our 8 yr old son and myself for the week, and we were very comfortable. The location is just past the park entrance in Moonlight Basin, which is a very beautiful area. Snow was removed from our sidewalk and driveway each morning and they did an excellent job of keeping the streets clear as well. The air in the home never seemed dry (no static issues), so they likely have a built-in humidifier. If I was to be picky, the only potential negative to this property is that it is not a true 'ski-in ski out'. There is a small lift terminal just down the street, about 100 yards, however this just takes you up the mountain to link into some blues/green to get you down the hill to Madison Base. To get back to your house via skis....that's another story. We asked the lift attendant how to do so and he said he's been working there for a long time and only knew of 1-2 people that did it, but he didn't know the ceripticious route, which takes you through some streets and trees. So needless to say we passed on that ; ) IMPORTANT NOTE: We were SO glad we reserved a 4x4 that week, as the main and side streets were permafrost, and it snowed each night. Also, there is only 1 (very windy) road that takes you from the town of Big Sky to the resort area and on to this cabin. The roads get increasingly worse in elevation, so if you remember one thing...get a 4x4 if you plan on staying here in the winter months! We will definitely be back to this cabin...hopefully soon!

The cabin was cozy and very well decorated and the kitchen was amazing with all the appliances and amenities to whom like to cook as me. The location was wonderful, very beautiful, quiet and the view to the mountains was amazing, breathtaking! We hopefully will comeback next year!
ANNAMARIA M. Nov 2018
I absolutely LOVED staying here with my two boys! we had a peaceful and lovely few days in the snow! The views are spectacular and though we were close to amenities, it felt like we were the only ones on the mountain. The design and decor of this cabin is beautiful and we felt as though we were at home! I highly recommend this cabin for couples, families and anyone who loves to have that on the mountain feel while staying safe and close to all amenities. Skiing and riding in Big Sky is always amazing and its the perfect all round resort for winter, and all year round.
Sherry L. Oct 2018
Lake Cabin 9 is a modern and comfortable stay just across from the lake. It's a charming new design at Moonlight. The space is laid out very well. I love the décor and the arrangement. The front porch is a great place to sit back and feel sunshine upon your face with your favorite beverage.
Kathryn R. Aug 2018
The house was perfect for our two families (eight total). Two adults bedrooms up and a bunk room with pull out below. Beautifully decorated, every last detail tended to. Slept very well and was located conveniently enough to everything we wanted to do.

Lake Cabins 9 was fantastic. Very well appointed, well maintained and the onsite management was really helpful. We look forward to staying there again in the winter.
