Perfect size for what my small family needs, clean, comfortable, easy access to the beach, amazing view from both upstairs bedrooms.
Can hardly wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Waldport. The house is comfortable, the views are outstanding, and the beach access was so convenient. We'd definitely stay here again.

This is a great house on the beach. You can hear the ocean and you have great view of the ocean from the bedrooms. The deck is nice to sit on and relax in the sun. Direct TV and internet works fine, easy to use and connect. A very cozy and warm house with easy beach access. Near hwy 101, but you only hear traffic if you're outside in the front of the house. This is our second time to rent this house and we'll probably come back again and again.

We had never been to the coast during the winter, and this was the prefect place to watch the ocean and revel in the sound of the waves. There were 2 storms that came through during our 4-day stay. Those were the best for big waves and sound. It rained every day, but we soon learned that it usually didn't last long if it wasn't a strong storm. We loaded up to leave between the rainfalls.
The home itself was so welcoming. We've stayed in himes that looked like the decor was whatever was at the thrift store that day. We love thrift store finds, but if there were any in this home, they all complimented each other. The furniture down stairs was so comfortable! But, even my wife's long legs were too short to easily sit on the bar stools. The kitchen was well-equipped, only lacking pepper in the pepper shaker. Even the dishes fit well with the fun, relaxing vibe. Both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms are huge and well-stocked. We found it odd that only the upstairs bathroom had a higher toilet. We were glad for one, but both would have been nice. None was expected, of course.
Both bedrooms have oceanfront views, and even with the windows closed because of rain we could hear the surf., The room with the king-sized bed had a generous closet. The bed itself was rather soft, but we both were able to sleep.
Our dog really liked staying there. She sniffed and sniffed everywhere. There was no noticeable signs that other dogs had stayed there, but her nose was delighted. On the kitchen bar there was a bowl for water and a cute container of doggie bags. (Since we have years worth of them, we happily used our own, knowing others could be blessed.
From a disability standpoint, it was not advertised as being good for those with mobility issues. However a few things made my wife's time there more comfortable. There is an "incredibly comfortable" recliner in the livingroom. The dining room chairs swivel and the table is very sturdy if a little boost is needed to get out of the chairs. There are plugins conveniently located throughout the house. The nightstand was big enough for a CPAP machine and had an open outlet behind it. We were able to plug a power strip into it to also charge a phone and a Kindle. There are plenty of pillows. Going to and from the home there is a small step down from the street to the sidewalk, and another small step into the house. The door mat is great for scraping your shoes on. There is one just like it on the deck coming back into the house. It is screwed in and isn't going anywhere. The stairs are the greatest obstacle, since the bedrooms are upstairs. You must have the ability to walk or climb up the stairs. Coming down you can either walk or scoot down the stairs. (Be forewarned - the stair rails extend very far beyond the last support. It's probably best to stop using them at the last support.)
Some little notes...
1. If you're new to the area, make a trip to Yachats, Newport, or Florence. There are great outdoor markets during the spring/summer. Check TripAdvisor for info on each place. There's even a nice outlet mall in Lincoln City.
2. The garage door openers are in the basket on the bar that is against the wall. The garage itself is right across the street. Remember to put the openers back before you leave.
3. Google search for the directions for how to use the wood fireplace insert if you haven't used one before. That saves you from figuring out how to make a wifi call and then wasting the time of the nice Vacasa employee who takes your call. Also, wood is not provided. Many of the Waldport businesses sell it. These was some kindling and newspaper there, and we were thankful that wood was sold locally.
4. If your not using Google Maps to navigate, please be aware that house is in a tiny neighborhood just off 101. Watch the house numbers, and when you are very close, take a slight right off the road. Not being right on the highway really muffled the traffic noise.
Enjoy your stay!

Very nice location, easy access to the beach. Rate 4 stars because the king size bd is very soft. Had to sleep on the twin bed. Had a great visit. Was surprised to find it was a 2 story house. Huge bathrooms.

Beachfront house on beautiful and mysterious Big Stump Beach. Checks all of the boxes, would happily stay here again when back in the Waldport-Yachats area.

Panoramic views from all rooms; sounds of surf; cozy, well-equipped home with wonderful wood fireplace and fully, gracefully equipped kitchen! Clean and inviting. I would recommend this vacation home to anyone.

It was beautiful, cozy, clean, a great location, well supplied with kitchen tools, linens and towels! We felt VERY much at home. It would have been nice to know that there is no cell service, and just an occasional wifi connection to the internet. When we go back to the coast, this is where we'd like to stay!! PS: Thanks for the games! Friends visited and we played lots of dominoes!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We do apologize for the cell phone and internet service in this area can be a little difficult. We do hope you will allow us to host you again in the future!

We loved our visit to Waldport and this lovely house right on the beach!
Keith S.Aug 2019
Gorgeous location and a clean well appointed house with all the amenities. The beach is great for casual or long walks. A separate garage is provided for parking. We loved our stay, it was a 9 out of 10-- only thing to make it better would be a view of the beach from the deck. Is it possible to trim the bushes? We did notice other comments in the guest book regarding the same wish!
Keith, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for sharing your suggestion about trimming the bushes. We are contacting the local manager with this suggestion for their consideration. We look forward to hosting you again!

First and foremost, the beach as the back yard is just phenomenal. The home itself is very clean and cozy. The area is very quiet and peaceful with a short drive to the cute little town. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Big Stump Beach House! Absolutely fantastic oceanfront beach views from an elevated back deck. The home was super clean and in a nice quiet community right off the 101. Super comfortable king size bed in one bedroom and two twins in the 2nd bedroom. Ocean views from both bedrooms. Two full bathrooms. All of the kitchen supplies you might need, most importantly a coffee maker, coffee grinder & a blender. Multiple televisions (that we never turned on because why watch a TV with these views...), a blu-ray player and a good selection of VHS movies. Highly recommended!
