Oceanfront studio in Placencia Village: unbeatable location!
This oceanfront Placencia Peninsula vacation rental features a blend of modern amenities and an unbeatable location to ensure your Belize getaway is truly spectacular. It's right in town and just steps away from the sand, so there's no better place to enjoy the nearby beach and friendly Placencia Village!
This studio is right off the Placencia Sidewalk, the pedestrian-only walking path that runs through town. With a beachfront location right in town, you can easily walk to any of the cafes, restaurants, shops, equipment rentals, and other businesses in the village. It doesn't get any better than this!
Please note that this studio is on the second floor of a larger two-level house, and there are railings and stairs outside that may be unsafe for children 10 and younger. If you're traveling with young children, you may want to look into one of the ground-floor units. Also be aware the terrace at the top of the building is not available for guest use. Thank you!
Walk upstairs to this brightly colored studio and step inside to find a welcoming interior. All around you are warm tropical colors, bright tiles, and Belizean wood that will make you feel relaxed and right at home.
This home is very spacious for a studio! There's a small sitting area with a table where you can set up your laptop or spread out some maps to plan for tomorrow's adventure. While you're here you will have wireless Internet access, so keeping in touch with your family or posting vacation photos will be a breeze.
There are many fantastic restaurants nearby, but you will also have your own kitchenette in case you decide to cook here at home! With all the basics (a mini-fridge, microwave, hotplate, toaster, and coffeemaker), you can prepare a filling breakfast or a quick dinner before heading out to relax on the beach or explore town.
A full bathroom is decorated with beautiful, colorful tiles. When it's time to head to bed, a cozy queen-size bed is the perfect place to rest up for a new day in paradise. This home is an ideal size to accommodate two guests. If you get bored of enjoying the beach, there's even a TV with cable in addition to the WiFi access. There is also partial air conditioning in case the weather gets a little too balmy for your taste.
The inside of this home is lovely, but the real star is the nearby beach! From the windows and from your balcony you will have full views of the gorgeous white sand and sparkling blue water. Walk downstairs and you will find yourself right on the sand, where you can lounge in the beach chairs, sunbathe, and stroll over to dip your feet in the refreshing waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Because this studio is right in Placencia Village, you can easily walk over to grab a coffee at Brewed Awakenings, get a cone at Tuttifrutti Gelateria, and pick up some supplies at Wallen's Market. In town there are a surprising number of eateries that range from casual, authentic Belizean cuisine to upscale seafood and much more. There are also places where you can rent bicycles, kayaks, diving gear, and all sorts of equipment to help you get the most out of your stay.
The Placencia Peninsula is world famous for its snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. Whether you want to look for friendly manatee in the lagoon, search for colorful fish in the ocean, or go up to the barrier reef to explore, you'll have plenty of options here. If you want to check out more of the country, you can easily book a guided tour right from town. Visit Mayan ruins, trek around the jaguar preserve, go spelunking, hike through the mountains, or take a slow-paced river cruise - there are no shortage of adventures to be had here!
Boasting a gorgeous oceanfront location right in town, this Belize vacation rental is the perfect home base for your tropical getaway!

It was cute, clean, comfortable on right on the beach!! Friendly people without all the touristy fluff. A great place to get away from it all and just relax and enjoy the ocean, sand and sun.
The Tarpon Suite at Imperiux, met our expectations. The apartment was fitted with the basic kitchen utensils, clean linens and overall comfort. The beach view top it off and having easy access to the main restaurants, just made our weekend stay in Placencia and exceptional one. Relaxation, party, watching the sunrise.
Nice property with a great location. Easy access to beach and village.
Imperius Rex is a well built home in a good location, although it is behind in maintenance (e.g., screen door has a big hole, locks on doors do not work well, paint is faded). I could have overlooked those issues, but a new house is being constructed next door, and the construction noise began at 6:30am and didn't end until 5:30pm, every day, along with the loud music the workers were playing. If you are looking for a place to stay on the beach and would like to relax at your accommodations during the day, I strongly recommend that you find another place. The house next door is months away from completion, so be sure to check and see if it is completed before booking.
This building is directly on the beach, which was fantastic! New construction and air conditioned. Bed was nice and firm, very comfortable. There is a kitchenette, so we were able to make ourselves breakfast in the mornings.
The shower drain was a little slow sometimes (I think this may be typical in Belize), but not too bad. There were some color stains on the sheets when we arrived, but it looked like just some color had bled onto it before they were washed, so they still seemed clean. There was construction on a new structure going on directly next to this building, so there was noise from that in the mornings. We were waking up early anyway, so this was not bad for us.
There is no parking here. We were able to easily park in the Placencia Public Parking lot, then walk with our luggage down the Placencia sidewalk. From the sidewalk, there is an exit to reach this building on the beach. That exit could be better marked (there was no sign on the exit when coming from the direction of the parking lot). It was difficult to find since we arrived at night. But once you arrive, you are directly on the beach, and we didn't mind the walk.
There are several restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops within walking distance. The Municipal Pier and Sunset Pointe harbor are also a short walking distance. Overall, we loved our stay!
Very nicely done efficiency. All you will need for two people to enjoy the village and beach.
The location and price was perfect. Easy walking distance to everything in Placencia. My wife loved the beach just steps away.
Location on the beach, Modern and comfortable
Beautiful sunrise view from the balcony. An unobstructed view of the beach 30 yards in front of the room. A five minute walk into the Village with plenty of restaurants and shops - there is really no need to rent a vehicle unless you want to make some day trips inland -- but for a relaxing sun filled beach vacation - this place is hard to beat. There were a few days when the tide brought in a lot of weeds and pcs of plastic - making it unpleasant to swim if front of the property - but a 5 minute walk down the beach would get you to a clear opening to the warm Caribbean Sea ---- we stayed for 16 days -- and this only happened about 5 or 6 days -- Bed was very comfortable.
Clean quiet room, Steps away from Beach!
This suite was in a perfect location in Placencia. Great for a 7 night stay +. You can make coffee and breakfast in the morning....it was all anybody needs while on a vacation.
I think I answered how I liked it in the questionnaire above.
My stay here was very comfortable and great! I had the preference of cooking indoors or going outdoors to get something to eat. I would definitely stay at this place and any home managed by Vacasa!!
Nice room with ocean view right on beach!
We arrived September 9, 2017. As we were loading our bags into the room we noticed a construction crew arriving. I spoke with the supervisor (I assumed), and asked are they performing some sort of construction on the building? He replied, "we weren't aware of any guests arriving in the building since it was the off-season, and yes we are working on the roof." Out of curiosity I asked him when was the contract/agreement signed for the construction? He stated,"in June." Considering that my reservation was placed in May I wasn't very happy. I contacted the property management company, and she was very apologetic and issued the option of a discount or a refund. Ultimately we decided to accept the discount of 25% off. She also noted that the owner will be here the following day, and we are welcomed to speak with him. Unfortunately we didn't see him, but we did hear him because he was housed in the apartment next to us and during the late afternoon he played his music at a deafening tone.
In closing even though we decided to remain in the property the sound of constant pounding, drills, and saws I could have done without. It would have been nice to hear from the owner about this issue, but to no avail. We were very pleased with the overall cosmetics of the property, but its a shame that ownership doesn't understand the true meaning of hospitality or consideration.
My review summary is that this is an amazing location and the apartment was excellently accommodated. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I could easily live in this apartment happily.
Now, lots of details.
The staff should be more clear on how to find the apartment. I arrived after midnight and didn't want to wake anybody, so I foolishly attempted to find the place myself. I asked multiple strangers and finally found somebody who offered to help get to it, and even carried my bag. Halfway there we were stopped by three men who were dressed in civilian clothes but identified themselves as police, who ALSO trailed us to the building, because they believed the guy who was helping us was a known conman. So I had four strange men escort me to a remote location with no guarantee any of them were actual official law enforcement. We found the place!
Go almost to the end of the main street through the village and find Street Feet. Take the beach access sidewalk from Street Feet and pass the Pickled Parrot, keep walking until you see the water and the building is beachfront.
The stairs are VERY steep. I have rheumatoid arthritis and the climb was difficult for me. The room is wonderful unless you have problems climbing stairs. If you can tolerate the stairs the room is well worth it.
The showerhead... I had a discussion with property management and explained that women, especially, have a problem with the shower head because sand gets everywhere. I can't speak for others but I'm accustomed to a better shower head, and I would expect one in a beach suite. It would be interesting to find out if they follow through on upgrading the shower head. The shower is the only reason for my less-than-perfect rating, and only because it's been addressed before and should have been handled before I got there. If I find out the shower head has been upgraded, I would change my review to five stars, if possible.
The door lock... yes, it was annoying, but it was secure. Lock it every time you leave, and lock the balcony behind you when you come in. I never felt at risk when I was there, but there was a problem with thieves hopping balconies and making off with valuables from rooms that left their doors unlocked all up and down the village. Put the key in, turn it until you can rotate the door handle parallel to the ground. The key unlocks the handle, the handle moves the deadbolts.
The view... I sat and drank coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean every morning. The view may not have been panoramic, but my enjoyment wasn't hampered in the least. It was gorgeous
I loved staying in this suite. You will too.
We loved this unit! Great location on the beach, nicely appointed and modern facility. It was comfortable and convenient, and at a fantastic price. Thanks for a great place to stay.
Would run back. Loved every minute.
We had a great time in Placencia. The people are very friendly and it is a very safe place. The location of this property is excellent and is one of the reasons our stay was so great. If you are thinking about staying up the coast at Mayan Beach be aware that getting down the peninsula can take a while. I would recommend staying near the village unless you want to rent a golf cart. Riding a bike in 90+ degrees and humidity sounded awful. When I come back to Placencia I will be staying here again for sure!
The apartment is very nice functional and comfortable The access to the beach is really great
We had a fantastic time. The location of this little condo was perfect--right off the Placencia sidewalk and an easy walk to all Placencia restaurants, shops, and the pier where the island excursions depart. Add a beautiful view and we are hooked!
Two sisters found Tarpon Suite perfect for a relaxing stay in Placencia
Overall the location was great, beautiful view of the ocean. Our struggle was finding the place as we were NOT greeted by our local host. We were however greeted by another property host who happen to know exactly where this property was. Lucas was wonderful and helped several times during our stay. No where in our written instructions did we know to refer to the property as Imperius Rex which is how the locals know it, we were calling it Tarpon Suite. Bring extra toilette paper as there was only one roll for 9 days. We understood there would be a towel refresh once during our stay, scheduled it with the host on the first morning we were there, that day came and NO new towels, we had to argue about this with Rudy. 4 towels for 2 people to use during a 9 day stay is not enough.
Placencia is a small place that is short of quality accommodations. Imperious Rex is an exception. This is a beautiful apartment! It is spacious, modern and right on the front row. The little kitchen is well stocked, though there is only a two burner hot plate. Also the studio does not have a washer, unlike some of the photos show. These are not problems, though. Restaurants & laundry service are just a few steps away. The apartment is reasonably priced, well equipped & perfectly located. What more could you want?
Lucas' hospitality along with his on-going attention gave us a sense of being cared for and we felt more than comfortable.
We definitely enjoyed our 5 night stay at Imperius and would go back....The sound of the ocean at night was very relaxing...Everything you need is within walking distance...
the pillows on the bed were pathetic! flat and very cheap quality, stuffed with some kind of batting material which provided no support whatsoever, not what one would expect in a unit like this, especially for an 11 night stay, likewise the bedding was very low caliber! in a warm climate one would expect cotton sheets and pillowcases that will wick away any moisture, sheets were synthetic and very cheap quality that did not fit bed properly and slipped off during the night. Providing a thick white Polar Fleece blanket as an extra layer to a single sheet is quite ridiculous and inappropriate for a tropical climate. Waste bin in kitchen was tiny and required emptying almost everyday ...this was for 2 people who did very little cooking on the premises. Bar fridge was very poor quality...had to put bottled water in the freezer over night just to chill it...had to put beer etc. in freezer for several hours to chill it then move to main part of the fridge which hardly kept things cold. Far too small if you intend to shop for groceries and cook in your room. No spices of any sort, not even salt and pepper provided in the room so you're on the hook for all your cooking supplies. Doors to the unit have a very unusual locking system/mechanism which the manager should take more time to explain rather than sending a text message simply stating "they are quite tricky" when I requested assistance. They jammed up a few times and we thought we would be trapped in our room for the day. Often worried that we would break the mechanism!! Screen door to outside deck only closes from the inside of the room...very strange indeed! Window above the kitchen sink in the adjoining unit overlooked our deck and we often had our neighbours staring at us while doing their dishes and preparing meals. Very poor broom with short handle which requires the average height person to be bent over while sweeping up the floor...full size broom should be supplied, dust pan equally pathetic.. We were there for 11 nights and toilet paper ran out in 6 or 7 but never found any staff to give us a couple of rolls, shower worked fine but again it would have been nice if manager had explained the mechanism to us because it too was a bit odd, something we had never experienced before. drawers in kitchen and bathroom need to be sanded as they catch and bang against each other as wood has expanded and they don't fit properly. Walls are paper thin! We could hear every noise from adjoining room. Doors banging and their conversations early in the morning. Having the bedroom window of adjoining unit right beside our entrance door was also very strange...curtains were open and view of bedroom exposed to us every time we went to our room. No shade on beach, beach umbrellas should be supplied. Beach furniture very hard and uncomfortable, some sort of cushions should be provided! Renters could take responsibility to take to and from beach...to simply say they have all been stolen is not an excuse. Renters can be responsible and charged if they leave them out and they are stolen. Renters are given 1 key, should have at least 2 and lock box area is not lit at all! Impossible to access at night without fumbling around with a flashlight or cell phone light. Some sort of channel guide for TV would be helpful and cable connection was loose and as a result required constant adjustment to get it to bring channels in without too much interference...very frustrating!! A small bedside lamp is essential! Having both halogen lights shining on our bed in order for one person to read at night was just plain stupid! Air conditioning unit blowing cold air directly on our bed at night was quite annoying! No way to control this except to turn it off and resort to fan running during the night! Having manager simply blow us off when we mentioned the air conditioning problems by telling us he was used to the heat and never used air conditioning at night was quite condescending and not helpful and showed no empathy or interest in our complaint. Unit is not that hard to find and better landmarks and directions are all that are needed but instead it was made rather difficult until I asked a number of questions! Saying it is near the soccer field and other landmarks to meet the manager would have been helpful from the very beginning. Taking us to the unit and simply handing over the key and stating " this is your responsibility now" was not very reassuring. I asked if there was anything we needed to know about the unit and was simply told "no"! As you can see from above, there were a number of things we needed to know and a quick but thorough tour of the unit with the manager would have been very helpful! Instead we were left to muddle our way through things on our own. When we wanted to leave the room our first night to go out for dinner I spent a very frustrating 20 minutes struggling with the door lock and when I texted the manager for assistance he tried to give me some tips by text but did not offer to come back to our unit and give us a hand...instead made the excuse that he was waiting for guests at another rental and couldn't come to help us....very frustrating.
It seems that more was invested in exotic wood and fancy coloured tiles than on quality everyday items that would make guests feel like they were getting what they paid for. We had much higher quality linen, bedding and towels in small mid range hotel in San Ignaciao! As my husband said, "they probably issue better pillows in prison"!! Stop buying junk from second hand or bargain stores and invest in some good quality items that match the price per night for this unit. Our neighbours toaster was defective so we gave them ours! All appliances should be upgraded! They have tried to cut corners on everyday essential items and it shows! We have stayed in far less expensive accommodations around the world and have had much, much better linen, pillows and other items.
We are very disappointed to see that this guest was so dissatisfied with their experience as our team in Placencia did their best to alleviate all guest concerns and complaints during their stay. We did spend time walking them through how to use the amenities and locks in the unit, and we provided an ample supply of paper and hygiene products prior to guest arrival. The garbage can in the unit is very small to encourage frequent emptying in order to keep bugs away; we apologize that this was a nuisance for these guests. This is a very enjoyable unit in a beautiful area, and we look forward to sharing it with our guests.
The Tarpon Suite was just right for a couple wanting to stay on the beach. It had everything we needed--even a small kitchen so we could cook breakfast in. It is a decent walk from parking to the door--so pack light.
This was our first time to Belize and Placencia. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations right by the water and hearing the ocean waves each night. We swam each morning after a long walk on the beach and enjoyed the local amenities and restaurants in the Village. Barefoot Bar, Rick's, and Mojos for dinner. Rumfish and Pickled Parrot for drinks. VERY friendly locals and expats.
I had a great time staying in this house by the beach. The patio looks right out onto a beautiful beach, it is a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants and shops, and it was clean and air conditioned. There was a hotplate, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee machine, and a blender to make smoothies. It was clean, quiet, and had a really beautiful layout. Rodolfo, the manager, is always available and showed me all around Placencia. Placencia is an up and coming village in Belize that is not yet overly touristic, but has all the things you would want in a vacation--beautiful beaches, friendly people, tons of things to do like snorkeling, tubing, ziplining, going into the jungle to see birds and monkeys and occasionally jaguars, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. I went in the low season in September, and there were still lots of things to do and nice restaurants and bars, so I'm sure in the high season it's even better. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a tropical paradise without the huge resorts and annoying tourists.
The location did not disappoint, I'd hop out of bed every morning to watch the sunrise from my balcony. We enjoyed getting to walk from our apartment to all the nearby restaurants, which I cannot recall being once disappointed by. Not to mention the convenience of not having to conduct a motor vehicle after a night at Barefoot bar or the Tipsy Tuna. All was very clean and organized. Rudy was extremely helpful and communicative, especially during the severe weather Belize experienced during our stay.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
We recently stayed two weeks in the Tarpon Unit and enjoyed every minute. For two people the unit is spacious, comfortable and has a nice covered deck with gravity chairs. In addition, as the unit sits on the second floor, the prevailing breezes coming from the east are a welcome bonus. The villa sits directly on the beach at the south end of the village. You are close enough to all amenities but far enough from the beach bars to enjoy some solitude and not hear the live music. While the kitchenette may be a challenge for full blown dinners..., it was more than adequate for breakfasts, lunches and snacks. The Tarpon Unit is a great hangout and we will definitely be going back.
Our 3rd stay here and always perfect spot on the beach for great sunrise, swimming and walking the beautiful beaches.
Everybody says that they are the friendliest vacation destination but Placencia really is. Everybody we met in Placencia was relaxed, happy, and very friendly. That really made this the best vacation we've ever been on!
Great view. Nice clean room/apt. Had all the extras we needed, blender, hot plate, pans, silverware etc.
There were a few things that could be improved but overall a great experience. Excellent location, very clean, lovely neighbours!
This was the best place we stayed on our 20 day trip across the country. It's centrally located, clean, convenient and quiet. Perfect for a couple or one person. The view is to die for. I got up early to watch the sunrise every single day with my coffee on the balcony.
The Tarpon Suite was a great place. It was clean and in mint condition. It was air conditioned but at night I turned the a/c off, opened the windows and felt the most delicious breezes from the beach. Loved listening to the waves as I drifted off to sleep. The kitchen was well stocked but a toaster would have been appreciated. The location is right on the beach and only two houses from the Placencia sidewalk. Rodolfo, the property manager, was always available and only a phone call away. He was extremely helpful in helping plan tours and arranging transport. He e-mailed just to check to make sure everything was going well with the apartment. I am already planning to return to Placencia next year and will be staying in the Tarpon Suite.
