Oceanfront duplex with beautiful beach and dock for boat access! Dogs OK!
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind getaway in this Layton vacation rental offering a dock and a lovely beach along the Florida Keys! The rental is the perfect place to celebrate a honeymoon, special anniversary, or relaxing vacation with friends. The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
The cottage is part of a duplex. Located within Henry Flagler's Long Key Fishing Camp, this cottage is a historic site where author Zane Grey was a regular resident and wrote many of his books. The oceanfront home is just a few hundred feet from the Long Key Viaduct and three miles to town! This cottage shares the beach and dock with The Henry Flagler. Rent the entire duplex for larger groups!
Inside, this Florida vacation rental is cheery with coral and teal accents, large windows, and tropical fish decor. The quaint living room is home to a giant stuffed marlin perched above soft accent furniture. Take a break from the heat thanks to central AC and unwind with media entertainment including a flatscreen cable TV. WiFi will allow you to stream your favorite devices or connect with loved ones back home.
Pull up a barstool at the breakfast nook for margaritas or begin preparations for a fresh seafood feast! The kitchen is fully stocked with modern appliances and a dining table with seating for four. Why dine indoors when you can keep the fun going on the beach?
The kitchen leads to an expansive worn-wood patio providing unique furniture and a thatching roof overlooking the sea. The spot is ideal for mid-morning brunches and romantic meals at sunset.
Featuring one full bath and two bedrooms, this rental sleeps six guests (no more than five adults, please). The bedrooms are chipper and inviting with sea-themed artwork and striped bedspreads. The master suite boasts a king-size bed, a guest room offers a queen, and a sofa bed allows for flexible sleeping arrangements.
Outside, the grounds are reminiscent of a private island, with warped palm trees swaying in the breeze, a large white sand beach, and Tiki huts to relax under. The Atlantic expands as far as the eye can see, only punctuated by a dock. The water in front of the home is shallow, with a channel which enables a boat up to 30 feet in length to reach the dock.
Please be respectful as the beach is a nesting ground for sea turtles! Let the sun and waves wash over you, unwinding with a good book or exploring the waters by boat. The Long Key Viaduct is one of the best places in the world to catch tarpon!
Layton is a quaint island town with an abundance of outdoor recreation. Hike or paddle the coastline at Long Key State Park or spend days snorkeling and scuba diving the San Pedro Archaeological Preserve.
Give into the breeze and relaxation of island living at this Florida Keys vacation rental. Henry Flagler's Long Key Fishing Camp is truly a magical location.
Beautiful private beach with dock. Loved sitting on the deck, gorgeous views. Very peaceful setting.
We went down for our anniversary with our two kids (3,7). The beach was very relaxing. The kids loved playing in the sand. There was a lot to do around the area for the kids too. I would definitely go there again!
Kayaks for use...Beds very comfortable, tastefully furnished.
We're going to be back. Over and over and over..

The ocean will be your back yard!! our Family stayed over from Dec 29th to January 4th. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable vacation. My husband and I spent as much time as we could in the "back yard" we didn't wanna miss a second of the sunrise, sunset, birds, crabs, etc its just beautiful, so peaceful. The house is also equipped with beach chairs, kayaks, life jackets, boards for everyone to enjoy. The Tikki huts and bar are not longer there, but everything else looks just like the pictures!
The location on the beach is great. It is hard to find off the main road so you need to be aware especially if you come in at night. Pictures are pretty accurate but there are no grass/tiki-like umbrellas or covering over the deck - probably damaged by Hurricane Irma but not expressed on the website so shade is at a premium. There is a picture of a second bedroom with 2 twin beds which was not the case - there was a queen bed that my kids had to share. There is little close by but if you don’t mind driving 20+ minutes you can get to some restaurants. The house was clean and well stocked with basics like towels and dishes/silverware. Washer/dryer was nice to use. This is a duplex so you never know who will be sharing the house with you. It was nice having access to kayaks and a paddle board. Overall a nice spot but I don’t think I would go back.”
Located less then a stone's throw to the water, this lovely location is perfect for a family to enjoy the beach. You will be located in a great location to enjoy the full keys from Key Largo to Key West .The locals are friendly and very helpful., we personally wanna thank the crew at Tildens dive shop for an absolute great day. If your looking for a great spot to enjoy the Keys without even leaving your backyard this is the place for you
If you are looking for a little cottage on a nice Sandy Beach. This is the place for you. Beautiful view of the ocean. We spent the entire time either on the dock or on the deck.
Although we were forced to evacuate due to Hurricane Irma after only 1 night, we loved seeing this home. Maybe we can return some day.
What an amazing location. It was like having our own private beach. What a hidden gem. Best vacation ever! Can't wait to come back!!
In the keys everything is a bit quirky. However, the backyard says it all. It's very peaceful and nice to have the tiki hut and tiki umbrellas for your private use. We fished and dove off of Marathon, but really prefer to sleep and cook in a tranquil setting so this place was great. Maintenance needs improvement and the beds are hard, but overall this place was perfect for our long weekend.
This is a great house with an excellent location. We loved it because the unit provided great privacy while being right on the ocean. We loved to take walk up and down the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage train. Beautiful spot to watch sunrise and sunset.
Just a little piece of paradise ❤️
Excellent location, beautiful private beach, centrally located, vacasa could use some small improvements
The Zane Grey was a wonderful place to stay. In person it looks exactly as it does in pictures. It was clean and cozy. Beds were comfortable, rooms were a good size. You had everything you may need to cook and prepare meals. You basically have a private beach to yourself. There is no public access so no random people walking along the beach. It's very quite and peaceful. The internet connection as another reviewer stated was spotty, however that is what attracted me to the place. Would be a great place for anyone to really slow down from their daily grind.
Great location for exploring the Keys! We spent time checking out everywhere from Key Largo all the way down to Key West. Great apartment, plenty of room for our family to spread out (two children 19, 20). Nice to have our own beachfront! Our neighbors were very friendly and had some great suggestions! Right outside the driveway is the Henry Flagler 7 mile bridge - great place to walk, fish, or just watch the sunset!
This was the perfect beach get away with all the amenities. Only wish there was more days available for rent during our time frame. Beds were comfortable and great views! Had just about everything there for you if you want to cook. Definitely looking to stay in future.

Overall a great property - location cannot be beaten. Quietly nestled on the ocean, right off US1, the property is great for couples, single families, or groups of friends - especially if both sides of the property are rented at the same time.
Decor was hokey and there were a few minor maintenance issues I noticed (back screen door was off track, and front door handle was cracked), but these things did little to overshadow the prime location.
I will be back again and I've already recommended it to friends!
The location and the property were very nice and what we expected. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Bill, very nice guy. Also, Michelle, cleaning gal was very helpful and nice as well. We definitely will stay again sometime!
The place is very clean, the kitchen is fully stocked with almost everything you need to cook a meal, and it's right on the water!!! Such a beautiful, peaceful environment. But if you plan on needing the internet or cell service this may not be the place for you. The satellite internet is at best spotty, and I didn't have much Verizon cell service. On the positive side of that, if you truly want to get away for a couple days this is an amazing place to do that.
WOW, that says it all!!! Who says The Keys doesn't have many nice beaches? The Cabin was in a perfect secluded spot with private beach and boat dock. Just absolutely wonderful. We sat out at night and looked at the stars. The house was well equipped with quality furnishings and was clean. Even had a resident cat that would come and sit outside with us at night ! We were fortunate to have a nice young group of neighbours who "adopted" us for 2 days and fed us the lobster and hogfish they caught. Would come back in a heartbeat.
We had amazing time at the beach house in Layton. Everything was perfect, we had everything we needed plus more.
Stayed here for a few days with my son and husband. The water, just foot steps from the back door, is very shallow, which was perfect for our 4 year old, he entertained himself snorkeling and exploring the underwater "city," as he calls it. House was clean and well stocked. We cooked almost all meals in the kitchen. Took our boat and explored the Atlantic and the gulf. Nice little gem!
I don't even want people to know how amazing this place was...because it will never be available for rent when people discover this place! Perfect! Can't wait to return.
We had a wonderful time having our own private beach:). It was clean, comfortable and relaxing!
We stayed here last week, and everyone at work has asked me how our vacation was. The only word to describe it is "Perfect"! We had our 5 and 3 year old with us. The house is the perfect size. We never ate at the dining table, because we ate outside. But the kitchen is nicely updated, and everything we needed to cook was already there. The beach was outstanding. My kids really enjoyed swimming in the water. It stays pretty shallow which was nice. Everything was very clean, and we met the lady who cleans the home, and she was super nice. Everyone I talked to on the phone while booking the place, and even when I had questions were super helpful as well. We will definitely be staying here next year, and I can't wait!
We had a wonderful time! Great location. Very peaceful!
Beautiful beach and comfortable home. I will book again and again.
My family spent 5 days at this rental on Layton Key. It was exactly what we had hoped for. Beautiful quiet beach and the blue Atlantic as our backyard. A perfect deck with sun and shade. Gas grill, corn hole and bocce provided. A very adequate kitchen with all the necessities. The living space inside the house was a bit tight, but in reality we spend almost no time inside. 5 days with our 14 and 12 year old kids...the large screen tv literally never turned on. Enough said. I would definitely recommend to those who really know what the middle Keys are all about.
We stayed here for a reserved bachelor party. We aren't too crazy so we wanted something relaxing but fun. This home did not disappoint! It has the most beach I have ever seen in the Keys, and its private! There was not a sole in site, with the exception of the people renting the adjacent side, but luckily they were fantastic people.
The home was easy to access Islamorada or Marathon for events, but nice to come back to the peace and quiet of Layton.
The dock is perfect for star gazing at night (most stars I have ever seen by far) or stirring up the bioluminescent organisms.
I cannot say enough good things about this location! The only bad thing is when the tide gets low, it is pretty shallow over the grass beds for about a quarter mile and does not allow for much water activities. But that is it! Everything else was perfect.
Great place. A pitty that it's half an hour away from stores or any leasure activity. Great for relaxing though. Love the BBQ and canoes
Pet friendly, two bedroom duplex on the beach. Enjoy wonderful sunsets with your favorite beverage and relax. You can rent a boat and tie it up to the private dock. Cook your catch on either a gas or charcoal grill. Pack light because there is a washer and dryer on the property.
The property and location are great! We had a blast - beautiful views and great amenities. No questions asked - if the property is available BOOK!! Worth every penny!
Family of six (with 4 year-old) celebrated mom's 60th birthday in style! The location was very kid and adult friendly. Staying in September might be different than March, but we didn't have any neighbors and basically the beach to ourselves. The shower was my sister's favorite (seriously, she took 3 showers in 2 days). We needed medical care for the 4 year old and the hospital was down the road and friendly. We ended up renting a boat just down the road at Pier 38 for a reasonable rate and did some snorkeling on a beautiful small reef. We saw turtles, sharks, eels, FISH, corals and grasses. It was a great surprise to a difficult process of finding just the right place.
This is an outstanding place for peace and privacy. Marathon has several places for buying fresh or dining in for seafood. There is a Publix and Wynn Dixie in Marathon. It is about eight miles to any adult beverage party places, but perfect for sitting under the Tiki and having a glass of wine. The beach is sandy. no booties required. Great for kids. Recently renovated and upgraded.
