Seventeenth-century history meets ease, comfort, and modernity at this beautiful, 1,075-square-foot apartment in the medieval village of Corenno Plinio! This apartment - part of Villa Candiani, an historic building that dates back to the 1600s - was renovated from top to bottom in 2012, offering a lovely balcony with a view of Lake Como, bedrooms accented by ancient tufa ceilings, and an internal courtyard with a small fountain.
The village of Corenno Plinio, part of the town of Dervio overlooking Lake Como, is one of the most scenic in Lombardy. The apartment sits less than 300 feet from the lakeshore, roughly 200 feet from the Sentiero del Viandante (an historic path that winds through the mountains), and a quick stroll from a 12th-century castle and a church consecrated in 1365. One mile south in the center of Dervio, you'll find several sailing schools and a boat service that connects to Bellagio, Menaggio, Como, and other lakefront towns. Forte Fuentes, Piona Abbey, Fort Montecchio Nord, and Castel di Vezio are all within an easy drive as well.
