Take the kids out to explore miles of paved bike and nature trails that wind about the island. Downtown Charleston is only 25 miles away, where the family can check out pirate tours, the Gibbes Museum of Art, landscaped gardens, and live concerts. And if you want something a little more local, take a short trip into Freshfields Village (about 2 miles) where you’ll be able to shop for local produce, explore cute boutiques, and lose yourself in the local culture.
