Smack on the lake. The dock is spacious with 3 chairs as well. We went fishing every night and the kids caught fish (small, but plentiful in numbers). The water is clear and clean. Several kayaks and life jackets. There was a ping pong table and pool table in the basement which was an added bonus. There is no air conditioning. That was hard—as we were there doing a heat wave. We all slept in the basement. We only had 4 people and there are 2 bedrooms in the basement so it worked out. Sink in basement needs to be fixed. There are no condiments—not even salt and pepper—maybe bc of Covid? Kitchen very clean though. View of lake is stunning from the kitchen. Overall we were very happy and I would stay again.

The house was large and comfortable with a gorgeous view. It is truly an amazing location. Overall, the house was clean except the showers in both full bathrooms were really dirty. It would be so easy to clean these and make the house a better experience. Overall, I would recommend this house...just ask them to scrub the showers before you arrive.

Nice big home with plenty of room to spread out. Great location and beautiful views. The home could use a few items and it was a bit difficult to find but we still had a great time.

I love the lake . Seeing the looms and eagles.
The house was another matter. The house was not clean and their was no place to put excess garbage from animals so we had to keep it in house. We always do our own cooking and pots and pans were lacking. The faucet in downstairs bathroom was falling off and you had to hang on to it while on. There was a shed but was full . Walking into house was messy and not inviting. There was squirrels or mouse running throughout the rafter of the house all night. Overall we made the best of our time together.
Manager response:
Hi Theresa, thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement regarding some aspects of the home. We will take them into consideration for future guests. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

We loved our time at this beautiful lakeside home. The house as great views and was really comfortable and clean. We loved our time on the dock and having dinners overlooking Lake Rescue. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

This home had so much of what we were looking for. The lake was clean, clear and had lots of fish! The kayaks and maui mat made the trip active and fun for the entire family. The views of the lake were great from inside the home. The house had comfortable beds, a beautiful kitchen, and it was well cleaned upon our arrival.

This home was the last house nestled in the woods down a dirt drive just off route 100. Drove a BMW sedan during dry fall weather and it was fine on the dirt drive. Snowy, icy weather would have definitely required 4wd. We rented this particular house because of its location on the lake and the fact that the owner provided a canoe and kayaks (which we used everyday.) The kitchen and living areas with the stone fireplace (plenty of wood provided) were great. We had a great 3 days here. If you need provisions, we'd suggest driving into Woodstock. Nice cafe for lunch (Cafe Vert) and the Woodstock Farmer's Market is a must.
To be honest, we had a few surprises. The house seems to be in the process of renovation so there were areas that needed to be completed. Some bare wires, some unpainted surfaces, and nonexistent smoke alarms or fire extinguisher in the kitchen/fireplace area seem to us a problem for a rental. There was no renter's "book" to refer to as we've had in some other rental homes, but it wasn't really a problem because Vacasa provided all the info about the rental online or through the App. The frying pans were "very used" and we would have liked some dish towels in the kitchen but maybe that's nitpicking! The water has a strong taste and smell so we'd suggest bringing bottled water to drink. Maybe the owner would consider a filter of some sort.
Family photos around the home show a great family (looks like 4 boys? - same as my husband's family.) All told, we have good memories of Vermont and our stay.
Manager response:
Thank you for choosing Vacasa and sharing your review with us. The owners still plan on removing the shower in the upstairs bedroom and will hopefully have this wrapped up soon so the finishing work can be done and the tools removed. The water in the area does have a particular taste to it, but it is safe to drink. We apologize if housekeeping missed stocking the kitchen towels and will remind them to get these in the future. We hope to see you again!

We had 2 families, 5 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat, cook, play, sit by the fire, loved the pool table and ping pong table.... It was such a lovely visit, and will definitely return!

We loved our stay at this lake house. The location is perfect, the house is beautiful and there is plenty of room to spread out. I especially like that the whole bottom floor can easily be a kid zone with the pool table, ping pong, and video games. We hope to stay at this house again.

We had a great long weekend at this Lake Rescue home. We have vacationed several times on this lake over the years and know the area very well. We love the proximity to Jackson Gore for skiing, and LOVE having the lake right in front of us. This is the perfect location for year-round fun. The house is very well appointed and cozy. The decor is quite nice and we loved having a working fireplace to use. There were 4 adults and 3 teenagers staying in the house and we never felt cramped. The beds in all the rooms were quite comfortable and the bedding looked relatively new and clean! The kids loved the downstairs room with the ping-pong table, and the large kitchen table made for great dinners and conversation area. We didn't want to leave! In fact, one of the days we actually opted out of skiing to sleep in a bit, cook a great breakfast and then play outside all day on the lake ice fishing and ice skating. While the home is undergoing some minor repair work due to some water damage, we would absolutely stay here again. We're looking forward to returning soon!

This house is cozy, spacious, and very convenient. Great for large groups and there is a ping pong table! The supermarket and ski resort is less than 10 minutes away which was perfect! The view is amazing even in the winter time and the fireplace is a good choice for an additional heat source or to just sit around and watch T.V. The house was very clean and the local managers were very nice and responded very quick to any questions. Would come again & highly recommend!
