This home was even better than I hoped. The sleeping areas in the 2 living rooms were very spacious and comfortable. And it was very good to have a full bath off the common area. This way there was usually no wait even for 8 people. This home is elegant, modern kitchen, baths etc yet solidly built. Every one of us was grateful to be at Hale Hapu`u. Also located in a quiet part of Volcano Village with such beautiful nature surrounding the home. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Great home with lovely rooms and 3 wonderful bathrooms minutes from Volcano National Park. Outside of home looks nothing like the inside - we thought we were at the wrong location when we pulled up - looks like tiny house from street - not from inside or the back ---huge living space that made us feel at home as soon as we walked in the door. Loved it!! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

My granddaughter, her husband and four children ages 6-13 went with me for 8 days to the Big Island. The location was perfect as it is in secluded tropical forest with plenty of family space including a lovely back deck. The home was beautifully furnished with carved doors, beautiful decorative pieces and comfortable furniture. I would love to go there again. We had some problems with the oven but the maintenance company took care of it. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Huge space nicely decorated. Loved the sounds of the forest. Beds very comfy and had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it better was if they had a hot tub- which we personally would pay an extra $100/night for. Mahalo for letting us stay!
One note: the electronic lock needs to be fixed as there was no way to lock the house. Fortunately it’s a safe area. Also disarming the alarm didn’t work but there weren’t any consequences This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We arrived at our rental at about 8 pm as we were out on an excursion earlier in the day. On arrival we were greeted with a garbage can full of trash, dirty dishes, bedding on the floor and dirty towels in every bathroom. We were actually concerned someone was still staying there. Upon calling turnkey we were told an emergency cleaner could be there in an hour. So I sat on a couch with my 5 and 7 year old kids until midnight while the cleaner changed bedding etc. she said she wasn’t able to mop the floors etc. turnkey returned our cleaning fee (for a not so cleaned house during a pandemic when things are supposed to be sanitized) but stated they could do nothing to compensate for the time we were unable to use the rental (4 to midnight). We were in a small town and no alternative accommodations were available. There was also a rotten smell in the downstairs master that was so bad we had to leave the door open to tolerate (it was 50 degrees out). To the owners I would highly recommend an alternative management company as the customer service sucks. We’ve been using VRBO for probably 20 years and this is the first negative review I have ever written. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We were blown away by how beautiful this place is. Stepping through the carved wood front door our jaws dropped and we were visited by a sense of calm as our eyes feasted on the lovely wood. The bedrooms are huge and bathrooms something else. Showering with a floor to ceiling view of the rainforest is unique. The kitchen is super-well equipped and the owners have left a lot of useful things there. The enormous lanai is a perfect place to hang in the hammock, enjoy a meal outside or lounge in the easy chairs. Location is also great - under 10mins the the park entrance. The same to the few cafes/restaurants in Volcano village. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
