The room was clean and comfortable! The bed was so comfy to sleep in! The view from the room was beautiful! Walking distance to everything! Amazing! We will definitely be back! Our new favorite place to stay on the Big Island!!

We had 7 adults in our travel group. We needed a house with 4 bedrooms. The Shack filled the need nicely. We loved the location, having previously stayed at two resort properties that are in close proximity to this house. Please trust Google maps to get you to The Shack. We could not find an address, but Google maps got us to the correct place. This is a very nice home away from home. It is current and updated in its appointments/decorations/furniture in every way. It boasts newer, nicer furniture, the kitchen is stocked with everything we needed and more (for cooking anything and everything). The AC worked very well in the bedrooms. The common area/kitchen does not have AC, though a newer large fan helped to make it nice. Bedrooms are nicely sized and decorated. There is a VERY NICE outdoor living space where we loved spending time. There is a HUGE table that was big enough for us to have guests over for dinner and seat 11 adults with room to spare. There was a ton of beach stuff (snorkel sets, beach chairs, beach umbrella, large ice chest, boogey boards, and two stand up paddle boards) that we were grateful to get to use. I am happy to answer questions if you are considering staying at this property..

We absolutely love this condo complex. If you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor, you have a lānai (balcony) that looks right out over the beach (note: no elevator). You can watch whales go by, in season. The first-floor condos open right out onto the beach side of the building allowing a 30 second walk to the sand. There is a well-kempt pool, shuffle board, and BBQ grills for your use. There are plenty of deck chairs/chaise lounges on the deck between the building and the sea. Common-area laudry facilities are available for a fee. The condo units are on the smaller side, but ours included a well-equipped kitchen and a living area. The living area faces the beach, so good views are virtually always available. Our unit has a small air conditioner in the living area. During hot days, you may need to use the provided floor fan to "scoot" the cooler air into the bedroom that is located furthest from the air conditioner. However, during our visit, we had no problems saying cool enough in the bedroom. There are also quite and excellent ceiling fans over the bed and in the living area. There is no real "eating area" in these condos. There is a small table-for-two on the lānai. Just about everyone who stays in these condos uses that as their dining room. There is no other official dining area except for a small bar area that doubles as kitchen counter. When sitting at the bar, your back is facing the ocean view. The location is excellent, not only because it is an oceanfront property, but because it is 4-minute walk to the large Azeka mall. The post office and some of the most affordable shops and restaurants in Kihei can be found here. Also, within a 4–6-minute walk are the Maui Food Trucks of Kihei and the Kihei Craft Fair and Swap Meet. Summary: Great location, good amenities, excellent value for the money. It's no wonder why so many of the people we met here come back year after year.

Hawaii's islands

While every Hawaiian destination showcases the state's famous Aloha spirit, each island has something unique to offer. Visitors to Hawaii, or the Big Island, can expect rolling hills, coffee plantations, and active volcanoes you can view from a safe distance. Oahu's offerings are more metropolitan, with Honolulu's world-class shopping and dining paired with legendary surfing beaches. Maui is bursting with luxurious resorts and idyllic beaches, while Kauai, the most remote of the visitable islands, is exceptionally lush and naturally beautiful.

No matter which Hawaiian island you stay on, you can't go wrong with a vacation rental. Book one of our Hawaiian house or condo rentals for the best possible experience in paradise.
