⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Brighton condo is an absolute masterpiece—a living museum and a sacred time capsule dedicated to the golden era of Alaskan mountain culture. I am intentionally skipping the original family’s names to respect their privacy, but exploring the inscribed trophies and vintage memorabilia on the walls was the highlight of our stay. The couple who built this home did an immeasurable service to the Girdwood ski community, making the world a better place through their local leadership and dedication to youth racing. Staying in a space preserved so beautifully as a tribute to that legacy felt like an incredible privilege. The walls house incredible history, including a 1994 Olympic print autographed by local legend Tommy Moe on the day he won gold, authentic Austrian and Swedish team pennants, and artwork by Byron Birdsall and Barbara Lavallee. Beyond the history, the design is brilliantly cohesive, tying together vibrant orange accents (from the kMix toaster to the plush Murphy bed) with premium amenities like a Braun grinder, Bodum French press, and Zwilling knives. Tucked in a quiet, forested nook just minutes from Hotel Alyeska and the Sitzmark, it’s the ultimate base camp. Thank you to the hosts for keeping this beautiful family spirit alive. We left with inspired hearts and will absolutely be back!
