We had a mixed experience during our stay. On the positive side, the
apartment itself is beautiful and located perfectly—just a short walk to
the beach and the supermarket. Ary, the manager, provided outstanding
service throughout our stay. We had a few issues inside the unit, and
she took care of everything by the next day. She truly went above and
beyond.
However, the apartment—despite being large—does not have any table or
proper desk. If you plan to work during your stay, be aware that the
only surface available is the kitchen island with high plastic bar
stools, which is not comfortable for using a laptop or working for long
periods.
The biggest problems came from the Central 40 building itself. We stayed
in this building last year for two months with no issues, but this year
was completely different. Out of the last 10 days, the elevator was not
working for 7 of them, and we were on the 5th floor. Ary kindly offered
to move us to another unit, but with only four days left, we didn’t feel
comfortable packing everything again. We ended up taking the stairs many
times—good exercise, but not ideal, especially if you’re not young or
have mobility concerns.
Additionally, 4 out of the last 10 days we had no running water. To fill
the toilet tank, we had to go to the pool area and bring water up
manually. On the day we checked out, the elevator still wasn’t working,
and carrying two large suitcases and two backpacks down five floors was
extremely difficult—especially since my husband is 72.
I understand these building-wide issues are outside of the owner’s
control, and Ary did everything she could to help. But unfortunately,
due to the unreliable elevator and water problems, I cannot recommend
staying in the Central 40 building, even though the apartment itself is
lovely.
