Alabama beach wedding rental FAQ

Timing is everything. Choosing a date in the spring or fall may give you better rental availability (both for the wedding venue itself and for your guest accommodations), possibly fewer parking restrictions, and a greater likelihood of good weather for your ceremony and reception.

The second thing to consider is the size of your wedding party and guest list. The size of your wedding and wedding party will be a major factor in choosing a property for your special day.

Finally, do you dream of having your entire event on the beach with your toes in the sand, or just somewhere nearby or with beach views? Once you mull over these questions, you’re ready to take the next step—and Vacasa is here to help.

Vacasa manages some of the most gorgeous beach homes and condos in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, offering perfect locations to host gatherings large and small.

Vacation homes are a great place to host your wedding party and any large groups of guests who are coming to celebrate with you. One- to four-bedroom condos offer private accommodations, and some homes can even sleep up to 42 people under one roof!

Vacation homes are also an ideal place to host your ceremony and reception, given the convenience of accommodations and other prep facilities, like a kitchen, just a few feet away.

Our local Alabama team members are invaluable resources, but we’re not wedding planners. Still, we can compile recommendations for reputable florists, bakers, rental supply companies, and even wedding planners in the area. Most importantly, we’re extremely familiar with all the rules and regulations for beach weddings set forth by city officials and property owners. Once you’ve booked your wedding venue with Vacasa, we’ll help make sure everything goes smoothly for your celebration.

Our vacation homes offer limited parking; event guests may park any number of vehicles that will fit in the driveway of the property. Parking along the street or protected dune areas is prohibited. Please be sure to coordinate any additional parking for your guests prior to the event.

We want your event to be festive and memorable, but we ask that you follow some guidelines to keep our vacation homes safe and clean.

  • Do not nail or tape anything to the walls. Zip ties may be used to hang items so they can be easily removed without damaging the home. Property damage from events will be the primary guest's responsibility.
  • All decorations and debris must be completely removed from the home and beach area at check-out. Place all waste in the trash receptacles on-site and follow the waste removal schedule listed at the individual property. An extra cleaning fee will be added to your reservation if garbage is left behind.
  • Do not place any tents, poles, or stakes in the driveway area without prior consent from Vacasa.
  • Furnishings inside the home may not be used for events, and they are to remain inside the property at all times.

Please also be advised of our cancellation policy: Rental payments (minus the booking fee) are fully refundable up until 30 days prior to the reservation. Read our complete rental agreement for more information.

In addition to the policies and procedures set by Vacasas, all guests and attendees must follow the beach rules and regulations set by the city where the property is located.

  • As a rule, weddings are not allowed on the Gulf Shores public beaches from spring break through Labor Day weekend, especially if a large group is expected.
  • No chairs, gazebos, arches, etc. are allowed to be placed on public beaches.
  • If you’re renting a private beach house or condo, and you get permission from the owners to conduct a wedding, no permits are required from the city. However, you do need to make your guests aware that they cannot park on the road rights-of-way.
  • Gulf State Park, located in Gulf Shores, has a pavilion that is perfect for family and group outings, reunions, beach parties, and sunset weddings. The pavilion is available to rent 7 days a week, except major holiday weekends during the summer. For more information on pavilion rentals and weddings on Gulf State Park beaches, call 251-968-7296 or 251-968-7245; note that permits are required.
