Oceanfront chalet w/ views of Pacific, great location - dogs welcome!
This charming loft is part of the idyllic Alpine Chalets community, a group of A-Frame style getaways just steps from picturesque Beverly Beach! It's a perfect destination for the summer, winter, and all seasons in between. A character-filled Otter Rock beach getaway, this chalet has two levels so everyone in your group to spread out and relax at the coast. It's even dog-friendly, so you can treat your furry family members to a well-deserved trip to the beach as well.
Right from the living room window, you'll be treated to views of the Pacific Ocean. This means on rainy, stormy days you can stay warm and dry inside, while viewing the dramatic scenes out at sea. In addition to comfortable seats for all after a day out beach-combing or exploring tide pools, you'll also have a TV with cable and a DVD player for added entertainment options. Pop in a movie and settle back for a movie night, complete with freshly popped popcorn.
One of the benefits of a stay at our Alpine Chalets is having your own kitchen. And while there are certainly dining options nearby (Mo's West right near Devils Punch Bowl State Park is less than a 15 minute walk away), breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be on your own schedule, right in your cozy beach home. You'll have a refrigerator, sink, stove-top/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and coffee grinder.
After a full day out exploring the area, everyone will be able to find a cozy spot to retire for bed here. There's a bedroom on the main level that has a queen bed, bright bedding, and a bedside table and lamp for reading late into the night. On this floor, there's also a full bathroom - so if there's someone in your group that doesn't want to deal with stairs, this is the room for them!
For everyone else, there's the warm and inviting loft area. Up here, there are two twin beds on one side of the space, and an additional queen bed on the other side. There is also a half bath on this level for added convenience. Partial walls give a little privacy, but this is a shared space that works well for kids or good friends who don't mind the lack of doors. That said, the queen bed area has a nice ocean view - sleep in, open the drapes, have someone bring you up a cup of coffee, then use the WiFi to check your email while you spend a luxurious morning in bed - all while looking out at the Pacific.
For even more sleeping options, there's also a sofa bed available in the living room. This beach chalet will comfortably accommodate six guests, along with two dogs (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
This Otter Rock vacation rental offers a peaceful, Central Oregon Coast retreat only about two and a half hours from Portland. Pack the car, the dogs, and the kids and head to the beach for a memorable stay on Beverly Beach!

Such a quaint, peaceful little place. So comfortable, though. And to be right on the beach with private beach access? So awesome! I highly recommend it.
Kylene R.Nov 2019
Cozy, cute A-frame with lots of sleeping options. We had a great time with our 6 and 3 year old boys, they loved the swings and trail down to the beach from the house! Fees make the stay a lot more expensive than first appears so we could only stay 2 nights. Not pristinely clean but we weren’t expecting 5-star resort quality, it was acceptable. We enjoyed ourselves very much and appreciated the affordable late check-out making the trip feel longer! Thanks!

For the price, it was a great stay!

Even though it was away from the beach you could see the ocean from the Chalet. Very clean and the kitchen was furnished better then we had anticipated,

The chalet was very nice and conveniently close to Newport. The beach was very accessible and we spent lots of time going down to take walks. Great time was had by all. Will do it again!
Anne S.Jun 2019
This was the perfect size place with a great location. Easy access to Newport and surrounding attractions. Would stay there again.

The kids thought this place was amazing because it was so close to the ocean. They also loved that it was a big triangle. Happy kids make for a happy vacation :)

Very quiet kept to itself place. Trail to the beach and dog friendly which made it fantastic. Will deffinently go again.

Cozy and beautiful and so close to the beach.

We love staying here. The fridge had a horrible fish odor, but other than that everything was perfect.
The fridge has been cleaned out. We apologize for the odor.

My family really enjoyed our stay. The place was very well maintained with easy access to the beach.
Neal M.Apr 2018
This was the most affordable and best little chalet that my family and I have ever stayed at. I will be coming back soon.

Last year we stayed in one of the chalets for my birthday. We had a great time so we came back and stayed in one that had more bed capacity. We had a group of six and 2 dogs and we had a great time. Plenty of beds and great to have a half bath with that many people. The accommodations were fine and expected at a beach house. The kitchen has fiestaware dishes which was great but could use more pots/pans. Can opener needs replacing....there were 2 and neither worked. Overall we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay.
The can openers have been replaced, and we will add more pots and pans as soon as we can. Thanks!

We have come to Alpine Chalets at Otter Rock for a couple of years now, it's always a nice and quiet beach to wander and explore. Close enough to Newport or Depoe Bay that it's easy to get into town but away from the crowds for peace and quiet.

Great place to bring kids. Very fun and unique experience. Bring a warm coat though.
Mary W.Jul 2017
My first time with Vacasa and this property and we were very happy. We had an 83 yr old with a walker and a 5 yr old and it worked for all. Beach access easily managed if you take you time (I'm 63). Will come again

We were quite satisfied with our visit. For the price we weren't expecting a luxury resort. What we got was a comfortable stay with a nice little walk to the beach. We were able to put the terraces below to use, starting a fire in the fire pit and cooked up some steaks in the barbeque.

Nice for couple with small children or teenagers. Clean and quiet . Caretaker was super nice.

This was our first time staying here on this property. I must admit we were shocked. There was mold on the walls in the bedrooms, window sills. The garbage had not been emptied. We had to stick it in front of the unit as there was no manager around to check with. We booked for five people but there were not enough towels (hand or wash), no kitchen towels, sponges. We asked a very nice housekeeper, who happened to pass by cleaning another unit, for a towel and sponge to get the dishes done. We did read previous reviews so we were prepared at least for some of this. Basically you need to bring everything you need to go on a camping trip.
We apologize the home appeared to have mold issues and it wasn’t stocked properly. The property manager will research these concerns and resolve as quickly as possible. When completed, we will post an update. Thank you.

Enjoyed our stay!
Teri B.Mar 2017
The place was very clean, the staff was very nice and the location was perfect.
Becky C.Oct 2016
This is a cute little home. I was concerned after reading a few of the prior reviews but was pleasantly surprised. You can see and hear the ocean. The home is dated but that is expected considering the age and price range. This is a great location and we will stay again.
Casey M.Oct 2016
The overall property view was not what we signed up for. We were expecting more of a view, the property faced opposite of the ocean. The place was a bit dirty, the dishes were dirty - probably due to having to hand wash them, the stairs going upstairs is extremely steep and very small steps - BE CAREFUL! Most places that we have stayed at supplied simple things, not this place. You need to bring EVERYTHING with you if you want to stay. I was concerned with the pots and pans, and chose to eat out more than planned. We will not be back!
We apologize that the dishes were poorly washed; we ask our guests to wash their own dishes prior to leaving, but we will have housekeeping inspect the dishes carefully during their next clean.
Shannon M.Sep 2016
We didn't want to leave. Such a great place and we'll be back for sure.
Emily H.Sep 2016
Been staying here since i was a kid, a hidden gem. Quiet with private access to beach, great place to stay on the coast.
Sara C.Aug 2016
Years ago, my mother and her sisters would get together every year for a week at the Chalets. It was great to share that experience with my kids and grand kids. The beach and the picnic area was great .. we never left the property.
Tia R.Aug 2016
We loved our experience here, we stayed in lot #5 and it was a great fit for our family of 5. Beach access is great and it's a nice private beach. We will be staying here in the future!
Matthew C.Jul 2016
The Alpine Chalets are in a perfect location, tucked between the gorgeous stretch of Otter Rock Beach and Devil's Punchbowl with its amazing tidepools and seals. Unfortunately, #5's plumbing and stove are old and not functioning properly. We were disappointed compared to previous stays in other Chalets.
We apologize that there were some inconveniences with this stay. The toilet just needed the chain adjusted a bit, and we are working on replacing the stove burners so pots and pans will sit level.
Jeff M.Jul 2016
Great place to stay with kids. The loft was fun for them as well as the short distance to the beach. I used to come here when I was a kid and it was a great time for them on this trip. We will be coming back. That cabin was very tidy, clean, and comfortable. Well done keeping them up all these years!
Terrie L.Jul 2016
we had such a great time....next year we will stay longer than three days for sure!
Katie G.Jun 2016
Unit #5 was clean, well-maintained, quiet and a short walk to the beach. Exactly what we were looking for.
Joshua W.Mar 2016
We had a great time! Unit #5 fit our family of six perfect. Kids loved the place. We'll be coming back for sure
Leah D.Aug 2015
We stayed in number 5 and it was very cute and homey. The loft was very hot though. It sleeps 8 with 2 double beds two twin beds and a large hide away bed in the couch. The little TV is on a stand that rolls either in the living room or master bedroom. There are bonfire pits below with a shed of wood so bring some kindling and fire starter for a great evening. Nice beach access and just an overall great time!
Jessica V.Aug 2015
Apart from cleanliness issues, the place was really cute and in a great location. I would recommend staying in one of the better kept chalets.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We apologize that housekeeping did not meet our cleanliness standards for your stay and will follow-up with them. We do our best to keep all of the chalets clean and in good repair so that guests can continue to enjoy them and their perfect location.
Amy D.Aug 2015
This was our first visit to the Alpine Chalet and overall we had a great stay. It was a little difficult to find because it's nicely tucked away. Cabin #5 was exactly what we expected, simply decorated and well kept up. I was concerned that with five adults and two dogs we'd be cramped, but it really wasn't that bad. We were very happy with it. Our biggest disappointment was the location to the beach. Although the path down to the ocean (as well as the fire pit/grills) was well maintained, what wasn't relayed in any description was that it was a very steep incline. Anyone with a physical impairment, injury or just not really in shape may find the path down to the beach difficult -- we actually had to carry our older dog up the path because with his arthritis the incline made it difficult and painful for him and we didn't take him down to the beach after that which meant one person had to stay back to watch him at the cabin. Once down there, the beach was great.
Todd F.Apr 2015
Everything was good. Some stuff wasn't clean and parking lot wasn't marked well, but overall we enjoyed it.
Jose A.Feb 2015
I enjoyed my stay at Otter Rock. I plan to stay again.
Thank you for posting your review! We are glad you had a great time in Otter Rock, we look forward to your next visit!
Mary D.Aug 2014
This is the fourth time we have stayed here. Quiet, private spot. Nice firepit. Will come back again.
Jane L.Jul 2014
This is a nicely kept up property with nice touches such as a pretty area divided into an upper and lower spot for picnicking, grilling, or having a campfire with an established "pit." The beach access is good and goes, via a trail, to a lovely private part of the beach. Suited us perfectly, and was even a spot that is animal friendly, if you do have a dog. Chalet actually had more room (3bedrooms plus a living room/kitchen and two bathrooms) than the pictured building might look like it could house!!
Hamad H.Jul 2014
great rental, easy access to the beach and was well stocked with all the necessities... (bring your own toiletries and hairdryer) loved the privacy of the property!
Joules F.May 2014
This property is small, but makes great use of its space. We comfortably fit three adults and three kids. Everything you need is already in the kitchen and bathrooms. There is a five minute walk to the beach and a great little cookout area with a bbq, firepit and picnic tables. We'll be back.
Thank you for your great review. We are glad that you had a good stay and enjoyed the BBQ area. We look forward to your return stay.
